    So many great Dan songs, this could be my favorite. That manic frenetic buzzbomb guitar solo never gets old. Yeah, I own a Steely Dan t-shirt.

      @@juliettespain7994 It really is. When this came out in 1973, "Reelin' In the Years" was their most popular song, so it made sense for them to add that guitar lick after they reference the band name.

    Rick Derringer was possessed on this track. Some of his best guitar playing ever. Becker & Fagen had a knack of getting that out of session musicians. They were so good, it’s a crime so many people don’t know about them that much. They are most likely the greatest American band/ (Becker & Fagen + whichever musicians were playing with them) ever.

    I’ll say it over and over again , to really understand Dan you have to listen to all albums from the first to the last. Not a bad tune anywhere. The flow from album to album is amazing. Masterpiece after masterpiece. You really feel it from first song to the last. I have two bands I spin from song 1 album 1 to last song. Both are similar genius works. Zeppelin and Steely Dan

    i was just at a local "new and used" shop in my town, they have 4 boxes of records, i grabbed 2 records for 1 dollar, Steely Dan "Aja" and Goucho". great music! good vid! 😉

    Some bands create albums not songs. It’s a disservice to pick a song from an album. One of the few bands where it’s intended you must listen to the whole album to get the message.

      @@katylied24 Don't get me wrong. All SD is great music but "Aja" is more for the masses. It's all atmosphere, it's predictable and it has little or no excitement, no "newness". If I had to do the desert island thing with one record, "Countdown To Ecstasy" would be it. I've felt this way since I first put it on my turntable in '73. ;)
