One of my favorite songs of Florence. I can't wait for the album to come out. It's going to be good I'm sure. But also, I'm biased, I love Florence and everything she does.
So much in this video that isn't immediately obvious. For example: Florence's coat is a military-style great coat, suggesting that her fight against anxiety is a battle. The bright red of the dress on her chest is repeated on her cuffs (wearing her heart on her sleeve). And then the arterial fabric flows from her wrists. With such thought behind this video, I don't think this is an accident. We need to love and support people cos we never know where things like anxiety might lead. Love to Florence, the people of Ukraine, and anyone who suffers with anxiety X
Since the album Dance Fever has been released, you should listen to the song "Daffodil". There's no music video for it. But there is a lyrical video. I think you might enjoy this one a lot. The intro scared me, and the outro shook me.
The song is so-so great, however, the context is tearing me apart as she is singing about Ukraine's freedom from the connections with Russia. I live in Russia, I was born in Russia, my grandpa was born in Ukraine, my maiden name is Grebenyuk (which is Ukrainian). I dunno understand what sort of freedom she means, freedom from your roots or what :( and by today, the history of Ukraine has been rewritten, it has been distorted... So sad
She is singing about her anxiety and how she only feels free of it when she is dancing. She also used the song as a tribute to Ukraine because they shot the video there and because they are goign through a very anxious period right now.
