That's exactly what I was thinking when watching this...mentioning divorce/separation to the abusive partner is the LAST thing they want to hear, and she tells him this while he is holding their newborn and they are alone in the room? She put herself and the kid in a dangerous situation. Plus what's to stop him acting dangerously towards her after she leaves the hospital unless she got a restraining order or something?
My mum got a job and an apartment. Then she moved without my dad with four kids. He got mad, but my country favours mothers so he did not have a chance at custody. Luckily she was educted as a nurse so it was easy to get a job. I feel bad for anyone unemployed or uneducated in such a situation. They will struggle to leave or believe in themselves. They might also struggle for custody.
She is not being judged for the character she essays in the movie.. she is being judged for her tone deaf attitude towards the victims as she was promoting the movie…
Movie is not "just" a movie. Movies influence our thoughts, our thoughts influence out actions. Every person participating in the movie is responsible for sharing constructive/destructive narratives because it indirectly forms society and their actions. Any movie can be a tool of the soft propaganda if movie creators will wrap inside of the appealing video with beautiful actors and music the needed narrative the society must believe in. Showing a distorted reality as a real picture can be a propaganda of smth. and yes, it can be dangerous, despite it's influence is indirect. Any book about propaganda could give you more examples how we are influenced by media content.
That's not true just because you abused her doesn't mean he's a monster without impulse control some are that is true but no one knows the emotional state of an abuser more than the person they abuse prides himself on being intelligent so the woman in the story played to his intelligence
Some people think staying together for a child is healthy even if they don't lovr each other but thsts far from the point it may be difficult but its better then your child growing up in an abusive household
As for me - agree with some comments below - unrealistic and dangerous movie. It would be nice before creating such movies go to subject-matter experts (in this case - to the victim of abuse or to the psychologist) for an advice. I faced with stalking of my ex-boyfriend - my huge mistake was showing him my new appartment (I did that because he promised never behave abusively again, and I believed🙈 After he realized that returning me is not possible, he started to threaten me and came to my house when I were returning after work at 11 PM, next times, when I was not there - he knocked to my door. That was very unpleasant experience). To those why are watching this movie - never - NEVER reveal your new location.
One step further. If they degrade, insult, or gaslight, that was my red flag line crossed. Physical abuse doesn't need to be the only obvious reason to leave. Verbal and emotional abuse are just as damaging and sadly not often given a spotlight in this narrative. I didn't want to wait to see if he could get worse.
U say that till your put n that place yourself! U nvr kno what someone is dealing with or why they might have to stay! It’s not always easy to just leave trust me!!!
@gracesanity6314 easier said than done. Sometimes, physical abuse can take years into the relationship. Which ultimately makes it very possible to stay in a dv relationship
Victim of abuse would never confront her abuser like this, and he would never be this understanding
Much less while he's holding the baby!

Not every abuser are the same; some do recognize that they have a problem
The most fictional part of the story, ruins the idea of how to leave the abuser
Its a movie. They had to wrap it up

Total fiction crazy and unrealistic. He would NEVER agree
Of course he wouldn’t agree.
What's he gonna do at the hospital he works at? He couldn't do anything but agree
I am sorry for any victim of abuse but you should not judge the actor. It’s just a movie.

@ I did not realize as it was just a movie I watched. I didn’t see how she promoted it

I'm so glad you got such a compassionate abuser Blake 😏 it's cause you're stronger, you stood your ground!! SAID NO VICTIM OF DV EVER
OH ST4U
Ridiculous and dangerous movie no women would have survived her abuser like this .

Yes have your abuser to show up to your new house/apartment. Yes so brilliant 🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️
Loved the movie & actors! Yes, it’s just a movie but has some real lessons to be learned especially for us women. Just my opinion
Her constant smile and calmness is annoying😒😒😒
She's had enough theres more to a smile then you realize a smile doesn't necessarily mean she's happy or the fact that she's happy its all over

Ryle is a NARCISSIST. Hes got issues.
If someone hit me once. I could never stay. Never.
Me too

It’s easy to say that but if you were in that situation it would be a lot harder
Could have done without the Taylor music ugh lol
Прочитала книгу: Лили Райла не любила. Никогда. Для чего она с ним замутила - непонятно
Her dreams came true ❤️❤️❤️
This is a movie 🎥🎥🎥 😮😮 remember a young lady on tik tok made this book popular
Very unrealistic
This scene is totally different from the book
I wish, so much, I said this when I gave birth.
Blake lively is a good actress
Se cargaron la película nada como el libro
Stupid comments this is a movie people 😂
This happens in real life. Both to women and men. If this movie leads to someone realising they are in a toxic relationship then it has done its job
So sad she didn't give him a chance after the baby was born.
To what? Hit her in front of the kid? To perpetuate that cycle? The name of the movie is It Ends With US. 🙄
He’s just tired lol
Dumb movie
Garbage for women at its best.
Why is that because she stood up for herself. Until you in hands of the abuser it's hard to understand.
