Loving this ephemera folio. Since I am out of commission until February with an injury I think I will do this as a Valentine's theme and give it as a RAK. Thanks so much for all your inspiration. Happy Holidays to you and your family.
I really love Blue Fern papers. I ordered my pack so I can create along with you, love all your videos. This folio is just what I need. Thanks for revisiting a previous project.
The chipboard on top of the cardstock may have been fiddly, but it was totally worth it! Such a beautiful first start to a project I love so much! I’ve watched you make the ephemera folder a few times. So excited to see it made again! Hugs!! 💜😘
Trying to catch up on your videos. My best friend came for a visit from California. We had a great time but never anytime for video watching. She went home yesterday so I’ll spend the day today watching videos. This is a very cute project. Thank you for sharing 🤗
What a beautiful project! Thank you for showing us how to make it. Wasn't sure about how you cut the paper to match the chipboard piece. I would have just cut the circle and let the background show through. But Im sure I will understand your idea when this project continues. You always make great choices! Im behind on watching, so trying to catch up again over the holiday. Doing well after surgery. Looking forward to getting back to crafting! Hugs! 🎁🎄🎅
Oh Gayle, we’ve come full circle! When you started making the first one of these is when I first found your videos! 🥰 This new one’s going to be so pretty... 😍
Good morning Gayle, 💕 love 💕 love your idea of how your going to use the Blue Fern paper . Beautiful , very pretty, awesome , I love 💕 your work . You are truly gifted in making junk journals . 😍 🎄 😍
oh boy-how fun is this!! you really cranked the cover/spine out gayle! man your fast! i have the same Penblade and have learned to hold the tip of my finger as far down on the white part as i can for pressure when i cut. using the tip of my finger keeps me from pressing into the area that retracts the blade. it took a little getting use to but i really like the Penblades. i got them after you showed yours from a subbie :) looking forward to seeing how you finish the cover, love your excitement, these papers and kit are gorgeous!
Love this! It is so cute and the paper is so yummy! A big thank you for finding MedievalMirage's kit for me!! I have started a journal with Jarf's beautiful papers!! I see many of her kits in my future. :) As you know she is a very sweet lady!! Hugs!!
This is on my to do list, can’t wait to see what you add to it. I purchased a finger blade off amazon, I find it easier to use. You can scan your music sheets and save on your computer, print out on copy and coffee dye if needed, or just distress with vintage photo, I’ve done that too. There’s nothing like having old Christmas music sheets. 👍🎄🎶🎶
This is so cool Gayle, I need to make one. The Nativity digi is in your email very serendipitous of you to mention it. Thank you Gayle for all the inspiration! Hugs, Amy💕😺
Hi Gayle, I love watching your videos and am going to go look in my stash for things to make this. I have a knife like yours and it is designed to retract the blade when you stop cutting so there is never a shape blade exposed when not in use. It is probably more important for clumsy people or those with children around. I am having a grateful day thanks. Miffi
Ohhh Myyy Gosh - Those Bluefern papers are divine!!! I sooo wish they were more accessible in Australia. I have found a shop that sells some, but the latest releases have not made it in store at this stage, and I have no idea if they will. I have complete papers envy’ watching you play with these gorgeous papers!!! Oh - and I felt it necessary to write this part of my comment, all before you had even chosen your papers for this project lol. More comments may follow. Hehehe. 😍😁🤣
Bless your heart Gayle!!! I just love this idea!!! I think they would make a really fun gift idea!!! I love what you’re doing with the cover, but I have to say... you’re much braver than I am lol. I probably would’ve cut out a circle and let the background paper fill the intricate details pattern of the chipboard cutout at the bottom lol. Having said that, I also understand how determined we can be when we get stuck on an idea and we just need to see it through lol. This is going to be sooo gorgeous!!! Please give Blue Fern Studio a ‘shout out’ for me. I need their papers in my life lol. I’ve looked and looked - but I cannot find anywhere in Australia to purchase them from (most of what I can find are old releases). 😢 I’ve also looked at their website and it appears to be wholesale only (unless I’m mistaken). I’m trying really hard to find access to these beautiful papers lol. TFS your fabulously beautiful ideas!!! Big hugs, Sharon 🌷💜
I have that same iron and I love it. I got mine several years ago at the sewing expo we have here every March. It's always around my birthday so it's my present to myself. Picked up a wool pressing pad this year and it's great for pressing hankies and linens before scanning!
I love the button on your brown fabric strip’s pin. I’ve had so many fabrics get caught on the loop of safety pins, but a button would prevent that and look cute!
I love the beginning of this. I'm so grateful to be able to sit in on these start to finish projects. I am learning so much and getting inspired. Thanks for letting me peak over your shoulder. Hugs to you.
Thanks so much, Denise! Spoiler alert...my next project after this is using your avocado dyed paper. I have filmed a week ahead as this week we are out of town! 😁❤️
@@gayleagostinelli_ct Ahhhhh...that is awesome!!! I got goose bumps! I'm so excited to see now! You always wow me with the ideas you come up with! And thanks for the spoiler alert...it really has picked me up today...closed on my mom's house today so it's been a bit emotional, but keeping my head up and reminding myself it's only a physical thing, the memories are still in my heart! Wow...a week ahead, you got it going on for sure Ms Gayle! Hugs xoxo
Off to another yummy start, Gayle. And, as I'm watching you make this, I began to think of making one for Christmas recipes to go along with my go-to recipe journal I recently made. You see the affect you have on me?😉 I was also thinking that you could use a colouring pencil or marker to shade in those difficult fiddly areas of the chipboard and then cut it out. That way, your other hand would be free to assist, lessening your chances of stabbing yourself.
Like the fact that this is a design team project but goes in a different direction so far as type of project. Teach us “Oh Great Master” a new lesson. LOL
LOL!!! Yes, I was rooting you on with that utility knife with my eyes tightly shut!!!! I couldn't bare to see you cut yourself, lol! I am already loving this folio so much and I do hope you find a way to work in the red flowers on the front, they looked gorgeous as you were holding them there. I've ordered individual sheets of this set too by Blue Fern....and I expect them any day and can not wait. The papers are really so pretty and I think I'll be a copycat and try to make a Folio like yours, and use these papers!!! I never could find the flowers however, nor the chipboard, but I will have some of the papers!!! Can't wait to see the next part! Hugs to you!!!!!
I’m so excited! My love tank is full! Love this Christmas stuff. Really like the idea of the Christmas folio! I’m definitely going to have to make one!!
I padded the top of a fold up wood tv table and stapled a piece of canvas around it. I park it folded up near my work station and can just open it and put beside my chair so I can iron little things. I don’t even have to stand up. I also have just a padded board stored on edge with my score board, my paper cutter, and som large alphabet stencils. I have a sweet little iron like you that sits nearby on a brick. I assume that is tempered glass and can tolerate the heat but it felt a bit uncomfortable watching you iron on glass. But obviously the glass didn’t explode. Ha!😯😬. No fingers crossed emoji :( ✌️🇨🇦🙏❤️
Hello my friend. I am really loving this. Absolutely gorgeous. I really liked the flowers on the front cover. Really made it pop. But no matter how you do it, it will be gorgeous. 💕 thanks for another awesome video. Hugs to you. 😘💕😊
Maybe extent the flowers over the opening edge? at a slant../....well...maybe more slanted. There seems to be more 'open' area on that side of the stockings.
love this Christmas Cheer folio! I am going to have to make one, but I have so much to do before Christmas! I think I will wait and watch all of the videos at once, when I get caught up on Christmas. Whenever that is! lol My sister calls every week to see if her doll clothes are ready and I keep telling her I have them cut out but not sewn yet. And I keep making thing for our craft fair! I swear there are just not enough hours in the day to get things done! Can you please put all these Blue Fern folio videos in a playlist, if you can. Thanks -Patti
This would be great for travelling...stuff it with things you might use on the trio, gather mire items while on the go and have it alk on one place. However, I might want the journal pages to be removable so that the H ournal could later on have its own cover and the folder used for another trip. I think this journal is sewn in, right?
I love this Blue Fern folio you are making! The last one you made was really lovely but I think this Christmas one will be the best one yet. I ordered the papers today, I hope they get here quick… lol! 😀😀😀 I have a terrible time with the sticky part of the packaging too… I ripped up more papers etc… getting things stuck to them… 🤪 I am looking forward to tomorrow morning to what is next! 😊💖😊
You’re cracking me up!! I would have gone diving in my trash can for those paper strips too!! After seeing you present this paper, I went straight away and bought it from one of your links... I just didn’t realize you had a double set... back to the shop to buy some more!
Good morning Gayle, just started watching and wanted to answer your question. Emily (Vintage Polka Dot Shop) made this folio. Prior to you getting it, I had shared some of her coffee dyed papers with you to introduce you to her/her shop. then, you shared her shop, ordered from her, and she sent you the folio and other goodies (she sent me a folio too! and goodies) Emily's coffee dyed papers are beyond delicious imo - her shop has a variety of fun things, and she is a sweetheart. big hugs xo

When you use washi tape and it is meant to show you glue it, is there a concern that it might lift without the gluing, since the glue doesn’t penetrate it if you are planning not to sew it? Love this idea❤️
Oh boy I just got this Christmas paper! Can't wait to see what you create! Okay, have to stop writing now, Gayle is on and talking. Have a beautiful day.
Gayle I just love this project. One question, why didn’t you just cut out the circle , glue down the frame lite, put the circle in the middle and let the background do it’s job. I think that would also look really good. Yes, I was talking to you from the other side, my husband said, “it’s Gayle’s tutorial.” OK, carry on and I can’t wait to see the progress. You are the greatest. Barb
Love these papers - may just have to do some shopping today. Instead of trimming so the inside fits, why couldn't you just score and fold it offset by a quarter inch? That way you would not lose any of the design. It would make the front and back a little wider but I don't see a reason they have to be exactly 6" wide so long as they are both the same size. Am I missing something?
Hey gayle! Kia Ora (hello) from new Zealand. This is yet another great series!! I noticed on the fabric spine you didn't glue the middle coz you said you were gonna sew on it, but I don't sew(don't have a machine), so do you think glue all over the spine will be strong enough?
There will be a signature of coffee dyed paper in the middle. So, it’s sewing in the signature by hand that I was worried about. It’s sometimes hard to poke the needle through the glue. ❤️
So enjoy the birthing of one of your new projects, Gayle. Smiles, Carol
I watched this video 3 times. Very enjoyable and beautiful papers. Thank you Gayle!

Love this folio. Beautiful paper. Maybe instead of trimming the inside cover it could be scored a smitch (technical math term) over on one side.
Morning Gayle. Gonna love this!
Love the Christmas folio and the cover is going to be gorgeous.....cyndi m.
When you use washi tape and it is meant to show you glue it, is there a concern that it might lift without the gluing, since the glue doesn’t penetrate it if you are planning not to sew it? Love this idea❤️
It’s not very sticky...that’s why I add a little glue stick to washi. 😁❤️

Gayle I just love this project. One question, why didn’t you just cut out the circle , glue down the frame lite, put the circle in the middle
and let the background do it’s job. I think that would also look really good. Yes, I was talking to you from the other side, my husband said, “it’s Gayle’s tutorial.” OK, carry on and I can’t wait to see the progress. You are the greatest. Barb

Nope not missing anything. All good ideas and you can do whatever works for you. ❤️
