    Paid all my phones off walked into a T-Mobile today to get 4 essential lines and was told we don’t offer that in the store and I have to call t-mobile. I called and was told I need to sign up for the $90 plan and then can change it to the essential plan. Went home signed up for visible and was up in running in less than 15 minutes.

    I enjoyed it your video very much…it’s long but all the info you gave was essential and truthfully for the info you gave us, you were concise. What I enjoyed the most was that you were fair in your assessment and unbiased. I’m currently with Tmobile and though I can tell you, I have found value in their family plan with the go5g plus at the store level they were somewhat misleading with the info they gave me and I have spent much time trying to resolve many issues I still have, overall I’m not satisfied because at the store level they are either dishonest or do not have the knowledge to help their customers, while there I have noticed other customers complaining for the same things, lack of transparency. Again, thanks for your video.

    If I need T-Mobile Coverage, I'd go with US Mobile's $50.00 plan. 100 GB of Premium Data, 50GB Hotspot, 4K streaming, Unlimited Talk & Text, and the Ultra Capacity was great! I'd get over 300-620 MB's on the down and 40-100MB's on the up. I've honestly never had a problem with them. Even when I was on the Unlimited Starter plan when it was 25 GB (Now it's 35 GB), It was always good, even when I went over the limit, I was still able to stream videos in 720p and livestream. Remember every carrier is always based on location...

    I'd like to add that I'm a big Fan of US Mobile and recommend their pooled plans for people who want multiple lines but don't need a lot of data...like if you want a dedicated 2FA/MFA line, have grandparents and others that use almost no data, or want to mix and match networks which you can do within the same pool from what I understand.
    Other than that I think the situation that needs to be addressed is what plan you get for T-Mobiles 4 lines and 4 iPhones for $100/mo. I believe this is an Essentials plan variant, so the question there is if that is worth it, which I find that deal difficult to beat if you don't need priority data, especially if you are fine with the base level iPhone because I think they cap you at $799-830/iPhone which is poor for an iPhone Pro or Pro Max which start ~$1000 before additional on device storage upgrades.[I'm not even sure you can get the Pro or Pro Max. I'd also like to know what promotions this plan qualifies for, such as connected devices, tablets, watches, the tracker, etc.]

    • @dennisp8520
      @dennisp8520 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      4K video streaming means the video speeds are not capped on the plan so you can watch the highest resolution/ load videos on streaming sites at whatever speeds are available.
      Other plans will throttle the video speeds. Which 480P Standard definition as an example would be 2mbps. 720P would be 5mbps and 1080P is 8mbps.

    T-Mobile will take advantage of you in store. Like if you don't know the smart watch is only free with a permonth add on for the watch to use cellular. Or sell a case that is not for your phone. Also had a friend that was not getting text messages from iPhone users only. The store told him to use WhatsApp like that is a thing people want to use just to get a message from an iPhone user or anyone.

    Seems to me the best plans (around $50mo.) are the essentials unless the bells and whistles (Netflix, Apple TV, AAA, new device's annually, etc.) are what floats your boat. You can get a new device with Essentials without paying for it up front and supposedly no contract. They'll just tack on a seemingly innocuous fee of less than a buck for 2 or 3 yrs and if you switch carriers before its paid off you owe the balance. A contract in sheep's clothing.
    The way I see it is these higher cost plans are simply prepaying for a new phone. A phone THEY offer at a price THEY set. Sidestepping the free marketplace. It's set up kinda like the tax code. If you claim 1 dependant on your W-2 then you get back more out of your paycheck, but are likely to owe money at the end of the year. If you claim 0 dependants then they take out the maximum each paycheck and your almost guaranteed a refund. Either way, somebody else is squirreling away your nuts and benefiting from the potential interest. It boils down to convenience.

    What is hotspot data? In Europe we don’t have this 😅 if we can use their hotspots, it’s unlimited. Or is it tethering? This would be the same as in the contract here, aswell as video streaming.

    • @ryan_torres
      @ryan_torres 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I suppose it would be considered tethering. It's where you turn on wifi connectivity between your phone and another device, such as a laptop or tablet.

      @JensE95 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@ryan_torres never heard of it being another limit than the contract.

    • @ryan_torres
      @ryan_torres 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@JensE95 Yes, due to the fact that there are many areas in the U.S. where there isn't access to broadband internet, people have no choice but use their phones as their only internet access. I know that overseas internet connectivity may be considered a basic human right, but not in the U.S., that is almost considered a luxury here, as funny as it sounds.Plus, you can drive for hours and in the middle of nowhere, people have homes where it isn't cost effective to run any type of basic services such as water or electricity, unless the homeowner wants to foot the bill, which in many cases would exceed the value of their home. Another factor that comes into play is where it may be cheaper to use their phone as their only internet service provider. In both scenarios, this can lead to reducing the bandwidth for others using that particular cell site. Rather than investing additional money on the network to provide additional capacity to cell sites, they combat things by either throttling or capping data.

    Can anyone explain how they are able to provide high speed data but then can control what video resolution you can play? Between SD,HD and 4K. Are they throttling you when you’re playing video?

    • @StetsonDoggett
      @StetsonDoggett  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      Correct. Carriers detect when you are streaming content from video platforms, such as Netflix, TH-cam, Hulu, etc, and then throttle the speeds. Typically 480p video is throttled to 1.5-2.5 Mbps, 720p is 4 Mbps, 1080p is 8 Mbps, and 4K is no throttle. The good news is you can get around this by using a VPN.

      Metro is 100% not capped and is unlimited, but its deprioritized. You never get priority data on Metro. In fact the only way to get priority data on T-Mobile is either get T-Mobile plan or Google Fi plans.

    should i switch my 4 lines of magenta max to the new go plus?

    • @StetsonDoggett
      @StetsonDoggett  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Do you finance your phones and do T-Mobile’s free phone trade-in deals? If your answer is yes, then I do think upgrading to Go5G Plus is a better overall value. You’ll pay more per month on the plan, about $5 per line per month, but you’ll save money on the phones thanks to the higher trade-in credit. That said, you can also WAIT to switch plans until you need to upgrade! That way you can see what trade-in deals are available to Magenta MAX customers first. Maybe they change and give Magenta MAX customers better deals. Who knows. If your answer is no and you prefer to buy your phones unlocked, then no, don’t upgrade. Keep Magenta MAX.

    I think that even though auto pay requires a connected bank account, you can still use a credit card to pay as long as you do it before it auto deducts.

    • @frank-bmtz
      @frank-bmtz 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Nope. The system will flag it upon activation because it’ll recognize it as a credit card and will tell the rep in store or online that it is an ilegible payment method and will not receive the discount.

    • @KentoVlog
      @KentoVlog 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@frank-bmtz I think they switched autopay to bank accounts because they wanted a greater chance of receiving payments. You can always pay your billing ahead of the auto bill date and the app and website allow you to use any form of payment. As long as they get their money, they are happy.

      US Mobile is not truly unlimited, and it also turns out to be deprioritized on T-Mobile. For this video, I chose to focus on plans that included truly unlimited high-speed data and options for priority data because I felt they were a closer match to the T-Mobile Go5G Plus plan. US Mobile is still an excellent value though, and it occurred to me after I published the video I probably should have given them a shout out!

      Have you heard about their new beta program? You can add a second line for $15 if it's on the same phone so you can have Verizon and T mobile with dual eSIM for $44 a month !!! Of shared data "pool" it's pretty neat!

Apple invented all the smart phone crap that no one wanted and I realized this is getting more complicated than people realize I refuse to play this game. I’m going to get myself a flip phone from eBay while still last and be happy with it. Please go ahead and call me old school. I don’t need instant access to my emails while on the go. I can always check in my desktop at home like I used to do 20 years ago. Thank you. Great video by the way keep it up. This is coming from my current T-Mobile customer for over six years.

    • @StetsonDoggett

      The regular priced plans are eligible for T-Mobile's "3rd line free" promotion. When you get the third line free, it makes the cost of the regular plan less. The 55+ discount is not eligible for this promotion, which is why it is more expensive.
