The whole Arlo\Raylan relationship was a masterfully written study in family trauma \dysfunction. Arlo was mean, devious and had a certain level of "smart". But really ,Raylan was smarter, probably even as a child, and it seemed almost as if Arlo was jealous of it. That Raylan was good-looking, smart, and solid. That Raylan had a chance to "leave Harlan alive" as it were. That seems like the sense you get from their scenes. Almost as if Arlo wishes he could corrupt Raylan, but is proud too, that he doesn't succeed in doing it.
Yeah, Arlo was smart enough to get over on a bunch of his own peers but Raylan was smarter even than Arlo, but I'm not sure Arlo recognized that. I think Arlo was just angry that he couldn't manipulate Raylan like he did everyone else. Even up to this scene Arlo was thinking that he was smart enough to trick Raylan but found out the hard way he wasn't.
Timothy's voice crack when he says "No" was perfect. Raylan may not have liked Arlo, but he was still his dad, and Raylan coming to the realization that his own father would do this to his only son nearly broke him. Timothy played this scene with absolute perfection.
Timothy doesn't get enough credit for his acting skill. I don't just say that because we have the same name either. The guy is phenomenal in every role he plays. Even when he was Agent 47 lol. Just because a movie is bad doesn't mean the actors were bad in it.

Arlo: *makes small talk*
Raylan: "That's suspicious."
Plus Arlo leaning back and looking at door & his watch
Yep. This ain't daddy like for Arlo
Well, knowing Arlo, this isn't his kind of talk, so I'd be suspicious too. 😆😆
“Well, Arlo…in truth, I think I’ve always known.”
That’s one of the most subtly heartbreaking lines in the series.
"Don't call me that" is even more heartbreaking. A man telling his father to never call him "son" again is a tragedy.
I’m glad Raylan always suspected the worst in his father, if he hadn’t this scene would have played out differently and Raylan would be dead.
"Hi Dispatch? Yeah it's Raylan. It happened again."
Im pretty sure if anyone ever asks for an ambulance and the coroner dispatch already refer to it as "needing a Raylan"😅
"How many this time?"
"Ambulance for one; coroner for two."

I would love to see a reboot prequel of Raylan.
"I'm going to need an ambulance and a coroner"..., best line of the season. 😂
One of the coroner cars has "Givens Express" on the side of it.
