    It takes a special type of person to be interested in lots of different types of flashlights and want to watch flashlight videos. I like the Streamlight MicroStream and MacroStream. They aren't fancy or programmable. They're just normal rechargeable flashlights. I also have a Modlight OKW but it's primary use is for blinding helicopter pilots.

      That depends... I bought 2 (not so cheap) mechanical watches, and could still be under what he spent on knives ;-)
      But then again, i am done with buying watches, i have those 2 and 1 G-shock. The G-shock is currently running 5 years longer on it's original 10 year battery and the 2 mechanical ones are automatics. I got interested in mechanical watches as my then used battery powered watch would stop without warning after about 3 years and i hated that. (always in situations when i would need the watch) The mechanical ones i have can be maintained/repaired by watchmakers for longer than most battery powered watches can (so maybe even better for the envirement?) Don't need batteries or recharging and are powered by the movement of my arm or by winding them up with my fingers. And the G-shock refuses to die anyway. :-) )

    Great video. Alex is definitely a busy man. I contacted him 2 years ago and the wait was 1 year. If you are like me and don't like fluffing around with watch batteries, I would recommend a Citizen, Seiko or Casio solar watch. No batteries to worry about ever.

      @Greg_Chock 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I second that. I had a Seiko automatic watch but I don't like to wear a watch on the weekends and then it'll wind out. I've got a Citizen eco watch (solar) now that is great. No more brand name batteries dying inside the watch and killing it or having to go to a jewelry shop to get the battery changed.

    I’m a giant fan of Tactile Turn. Will Hodges is a class act and he’s building an amazing company with amazing people. I own several of their pens and I recommend buying a bolt action over a side click. The side clicks are nice but the bolt actions are a better option, imo, if you carry your pen in a pocket. It’s very easy to bend over and press the button and then stain your pants with the side clicks whereas that’s not possible with a bolt action. Bolt actions have a better clip and ride deeper in the pocket. I think the mechanism of the bolt action is more robust overall. I also think actuating the bolt action is infinitely more satisfying, especially once it’s broken in and gets buttery smooth. That’s my view but your preferences may differ.

    Does any camera / photography stuff even use '123' style batteries anymore? I help out on photo shoots occasionally, and everything i
    I see uses those generic lithium ion packs. The kind you can get a "universal" charger for and it will work with maybe 3/5 of them. The saving grace is that a lot of cameras, lights, etc have a built in USB charger, so the goofy batteries don't matter as much.

    I do like my torches; in the same vein, the Lumintop EDC05 and Klarus Mi7Ti are quite special IMO; not forgetting the Thrunite Archers 1A and 2A.
    Your use'n pretty decent knives in the garden, fair enough, they're made to use, ....I hope, lol
    Love the water tank set up !!! I'm guess'n, you're using a "constant pressure pump" ?
    Yeah, that's a bugger of a palm, makes fantastic mulch though, if you can be bothered.
    Man....... a man bag,.......... well ok if does the business for you, it's either pockets or a small pack for me.
    And yep gotta agree, a hatchet around the place is the most abused, but leav'n it outside, my ol' man would kill me, if he found out, lol.
    On yeah, forgot about the pen, a 2 mm clutch pencil is a worthy option IMO.

    I find non solar G Shocks last about 3 years max - at which stage the battery replacement requires a trip to a service agent as some of the seals on thicker models are a disposable item that must be replaced. Its not cheap. I am leaning towards my screw backed Casio Duro as its robust but much cheaper to keep running.

    • @nirfz
      @nirfz 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well, that depends on the model and your use. I have a 2900 and the print on the glass says "10 year battery". I bought it in 2007 and it still has it's original battery in it and runs.
      (The alarm is used once per day on average, the light is used on average 3-4 times a week.)
      I had an old Casio 24 non G-shock years ago where the battery life was given by the factory with 3 years and it held out for 5 years of my use.

      Just a little tip: try to avoid pulling nose hair out, as it can cause at least irritation, but worse: it often causes inflamation and infection.

      And avoid what two working collegues of mine once tried: the one: using a soldiering iron. I don't even want to think about the pain the touch of a 350°C hot metal rod inside the nose would create.

    ear hairs! the bane of my existence. if i let them grow they'd be a forest. ive tried everything, best advise i have, is get some latex (not nitrelle) gloves, make sure your ears are clean (after shower) then take some alcohol swabs and wearing the gloves, clean your ears / hairs with the swabs. this degreases the hairs, and also makes the gloves really grippy / sticky. then wait for it to dry (dosent take long) and grab the ear hairs with your rubber gloved fingers, and just rip the whole damn bunch out at once. so much easier than trying to tweeze individual hairs, or use one of those trimmers.

Knives have gotten into a realm of scary high prices but for the most part are obtainable in one way shape or form. Watches.... on the other hand have almost limitless possibilities and have virtually no financial ceiling. If knives are a mild sickness cured by mild to high"ish" priced cures, watches are a terminal disease with what can seem like no cure at times unless your ballin like John Meyer. Keep up the great content and stay clear of watches. THEY THE DEVIL. Cheers.

    I use my torch every night when i take my border collie out for her nightly poop. The torch keeps me from stepping in what I am scooping up. This boomer likes your palm tree. I'll swap you your palm for my weak ass silver maple. The last down draft wind storm broke off 1/3 of the tree and took 3 days to cut up and remove. Not including the power pole, the power lines, and the cable line it took down with it. How many gallons/liters are each of your water tanks? Is that for houshold water or for gardern water?

    Ya, I keep the Eagletac with the cr123a batt. in my fanny pack. Just in case, and in my pocket I use a Maratac, aaa. Works for me.

    Why would you prefer a flashlight that you need to plug in to charge as opposed to one with batteries you swap out? If you need to plug it in, then while its charging, it's not on your person and/or able to be used. Plus, you might then just forget to put it back in its place. So when you need it, it's not with you, but rather sitting fully charged at the charging station. Also, USB ports compromise a device's water resistance. If you accidentally dropped your USB charging flashlight into a puddle or bucket of water, bad things are likely to happen to it. Not so with most flashlights that don't have a USB charging port on it.
    With a replaceable battery, you can just swap a new battery in and it's ready to go - - able to be used while the previous battery is charging. The flashlight never leaves your person, so you don't leave it at home, and there is zero downtime.

    I like the video game content, must admit flashlights for me are kinda low interest. Can't beat a good chicken or potato video. The throwing bin video from a while back was S tier.

    No mate, best torch is the Elzetta bones . It's cockroaches level of unkillable and it runs on 18650 rechargeable batteries that you can buy anywhere and use for years. Swap a dead batt out, put it on charge. Put you a new batt in an keep working. Period.

    Why do light manufacture’s put in the absolutely useless strobe function. Gimme an on and off as the basic functionality. Maybe othe levels of brightness with some additional fiddling.
