Great episode! I got so many ideas❤
Loved this recap. Hello from San Diego. :)
So many beautiful cardigans! Thanks for an interesting video. I really want to knit Marina's Scrumper cardigan sometimez, it's absolutely beautiful!
Isn’t it gorgeous, I think it would be a beautiful and understated piece that would complement everything you put it with. It’s a gorgeous design
Just stumbled on your channel and really enjoyed your selections, thanks for sharing, I really like the April cardigan ,it’s a saddle shoulder, top down. The only modification I made was to knit a double knit button band, as I like the professional look that it gives.just subscribed and look forward to the next podcast 🧶💕
Hi Emily Greetings from Sydney Australia. I just subscribed. Im Bondi Crafter on TH-cam. I love your cardigan patterns. They are my favourite type of woolly knit and they suite this Mediterranean climate zone in Sydney. Thanks for showing these patterns. I think Ill buy the first cardigan.
Hi Barbara, thank you for being here - I’m really glad you liked the patterns! There are some great ones on here but the Iza is a very good choice, I hope you enjoy it.
I really appreciate your video and love them .I bean knitting on and off I have been knitting vintage cotton yarn dishcloths and long squares for blanket for beds. I just knitting easy triangle shawl and easy corner to corner blanket. I can't read knitting pattern or crochet love sheffield
I still can’t read crochet patterns (particularly charts!) either, sometimes the simple things are the best though aren’t they! Thank you for being here ❤️
Thank you for the inspiration! They are all very beautiful! It would be nice if there were more cardigans for the summer, intended to be knit with plant fiber and not wool, but as far as I know there are not so many out there...
This is a very good point, there was one I meant to include that is meant for a summer layer however it’s still knit in suri alpaca so I’m not sure how summery it would be! You’ve given me some inspiration though, maybe I’ll see what I can find and do a bonus addition for summer cardigans. Xx
@@emily_knits_ Yes please! For those of us living in warm climates that would be very welcome! Especially because the cardigans you wear in the summer I most probably would wear in the winter!🤣
I made the Aosta Summer Top, and it’s one of my most worn garments! I didn’t realize she had a cardigan version though. I might need to make that this winter!!
I really need to get back round to retrying the Aosta, they’re all beautiful! Maybe we need to set up an Aosta KAL to encourage us both 🤣
@@emily_knits_ ooooh I like the sound of that!!
Your pattern picks are all so beautiful! Truly, the Nynaeve cardigan is gorgeous, I have to add that to my "to knit" list. I really appreciate you putting this video together, thanks!
Thank you so much, I’m really glad you enjoyed it! I thought the Nynaeve was really unusual, that’s definitely high on the “to knit” list for me too!
I, really appreciate all of the information you provided ❤
This was lovely to watch. So much information without going over the top. There is some lovely cardigans that you mentioned. At the moment I'm into knitting waistcoats /slipovers for the winter. I love wearing them over longer sleeved tops and they also don't feel to bulky. xxx
I need to challenge myself with a slipover I think, my worry is I wouldn’t wear it but I think if I pick something well fitting and fairly classic, in a mid grey, I could wear that with lots. X
Thank you Emily ❤
Wow, so many choices. I wonder if I can get one finished before the heat of summer starts here in Australia. I do like wearing cardigans ❤
I think there’s a couple in there that you might just stand a chance with, some of the bigger gauge ones! I love a cardigan too, I’m really not sure why I’ve never knit more but I plan to rectify that!
@@emily_knits_ I think it’s because they seem overly fiddly when you look at the quickness of a top down jumper. Doing button bands or shawl collars takes extra time. Did you notice if any of your choices had pockets - love pockets in a cardi.
💕
This is a very good point I should have mentioned! I’ve just looked and I’ve managed to pick most of them without pockets, so maybe I need to do another focussing on that! But the Elara Cardigan (which has now been properly released and there’s a ravelry link in the description) does have pockets. ❤️
@@emily_knits_ lovely, thanks Emily. I’ll have a look at it in Ravelry. xx
If you like a cable effect, try the Pilkington Cardigan by KarenBDesigns. Beautiful!
I’ll check it out, thank you!
❤
Oh I really like the Old Fashioned. It seems like the right kind of actually gender neutral piece. I might need to make that one. The Sunday Morning is stunning but I don't know that I would finish it but it is so pretty and tempting
I love the Old Fashioned, it’s perfectly gender neutral like you said, I could imagine it looking good on so many shapes, sizes and bodies!
Thank you 🙏
Oh my gosh. Which one do I try first?
Too many choices, this is always the problem i have!
How far along are you in your test? I am now swatching a sport weight. Hoping to cast on this week. I think I will have the pullover I’m testing finished this week.
I’m just working down the back panel, the shoulder shaping took me a few attempts! Good luck finishing your pullover test x
I just DM you on IG
