Did anybody else OVER-PREPARE for this battle? 22 hearts, 15 dishes with full recovery + extra hearts, no weapons under 50 attack power, no shields under 40, no bows under 36, 40 - 100 of every arrow. (Divine beasts take half his life) “Oh well shit okay 🤷🏾♂️ 😂”
I like to keep the head canon that while the Demon King was alive, he knew people would want to stop him, so he created this whole calamity in case he got stopped, and if somehow THAT army got wiped, he would come back with his first army.

Funnily enough in the Japanese version Zelda states that it's a devolved form because he's tried to reincarnate so many times, not that he gave up on it.

Mipha because Zora's Domain was the closest place to Kakariko and Hateno and Mipha's Grace is amazing early on, Urbosa because Gerudo was the closest place to the beginning, Revali because Rito Village was just a hop, a skip and a jump away from Gerudo and also Revali's Gale is a very nice ability to have and last but not least, Daruk.

According to the Hyrule compendium, it's actually Ganon trying to reincarnate into Ganondorf when he became aware that Link was being resurrected. But was forced out in an incomplete state when we entered the sanctum.

I think Ganondorf couldn't control Calamity Ganon though. He was explicitly trying to just cause raw destruction, Ganondorf wants a kingdom to rule over.
The general theory (now that ToTK is out) is that Ganon was just a sort of gigantic leak of dark energy and malice that probably started during the excavation of the Guardians, which could have-either physically or by clashing magic/tech- weakened Rauru’s previously ironclad seal over Ganondorf.

Cool that they made Ganon an incomprehensible monster, especially after his fall in Wind Waker. I always assumed he'd just continue as an entity of evil. Makes more sense with his Triforce of Power that he wouldn't actually be bound to a mortal body and can influence all other beings to do his bidding, he doesn't even have a body in botw, he's just malice
I recently had a horrifying thought about Calamity Ganon. Does anyone think it's possible there's more to him than we actually see and that he's not just a pile of Guardian parts and Malice goo in the form of a spider demon with a Ganondorf skull face, but Calamity Ganon himself may actually be a conglomeration of every villain in the Zelda timelines that ever sold their souls to him; in a sense, CG may contain the essences of not just Ganon himself, but also Ghirahim, Vaati, Zant, Agahnim, Malladus, Yuga, the Imprisoned and many others. So, in a way, in this fight, Link is not just fighting CG, he's fighting every villain in the series in one body.

Y’know, the music for the fight itself isn’t what gives me chills, it’s the music that introduces him. The build up makes it seems that much more intense, the fear it gives you about how you’re the only thing preventing this monstrosity from destroying the world and laying waste as he pleases, all the way up to the end of the song… It gives me chills every time I hear it
I’ll just say this, this is the absolute best boss theme out of all of boss themes from the Zelda series. It truly makes the fight feel like a battle against ultimate evil.
In my opinion, this is the coolest version of Ganon in the whole franchise. And the best looking of the final bosses. The only one who comes close to being as cool as him is Demise

FUN STORY! Throughout the entire game,I had never learned to parry. When I finally got to this bossfight,the slow realization that that was what I had to do to take down his defense was pure *terror* The funniest thing is,when I figured it out,I somehow did it perfectly nearly every time. One of the best boss fights I’ve ever played. Hard but not unfair, how I like boss fights. I was literally shaking at the end of this first phase. Then the 2nd one was just as epic
Was on holidays with my girlfriend, who introduced me to zelda, when i finally challenged ganon. She is by far a better zelda player, but damn, having her watch me during the fight was a unique experience. 10/10 boss fight

Calamity Ganon was a pretty epic fight. Testing your true mettle. Honestly would’ve been happy if they completely scrapped the Dark Beast fight and gave Calamity another phase lol

I loved every other blight Ganon fight is the same theme but with a different instrument, while Calamity Ganon fight is slower, but way more orchestral and epic!
The boss fight its self was a let down it was really easy but the beast ganon phase was just...SSOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO EPPPPPPPPIC the music in this phase was good tho' XD :3
Looking at it again, how many of us were expecting Ganondorf as a Gerudo? And not this...monstrosity that we fought? Because if they delivered on one thing, it's that none of us were expecting for that thing. Although with the entire thing with Breath of the Wild 2, it might not even have been by choice.
I just realized something- The beginning of this theme, from 0:00 to about 0:04, is rather reminiscent of the theme that plays when you meet Ganondorf for the first time in Twilight Princess. Aaaaaa This is so cool~ I love the little easter eggs all throughout this game's soundtrack.

I seriously don't get how this theme is still so underated. It's one of the best tracks in the whole game (for me is this and the castle's outside) and in the first encounter with calamity ganon it's just so epic and perfect

@@poliwhirlking Then you weren’t paying attention. The Divine Beasts cutting his health bar in half doesn’t mean anything as far as the music is concerned. The moment Link takes his sword out to fight Ganon this song starts playing. It doesn’t speed up until later on in the fight.

Throughout the entire game,I had never learned to parry. When I finally got to this bossfight,the slow realization that that was what I had to do to take down his defense was pure *terror*

Great boss fight, I was relieved that I didn’t have to fight that huge serpent of pure darkness surrounding the castle at the beginning of the game.

@@1000-THRit was basically its spirit flying around the castle as it was still creating his body, we see the spirit come out of dark beast ganon confirming that it IS calamity ganon and not just consetrated malice

One of the best boss fights I’ve ever played. Hard but not unfair, how I like boss fights. I was literally shaking at the end of this first phase. Then the 2nd one was just as epic

I loved every other blight Ganon fight is the same theme but with a different instrument, while Calamity Ganon fight is slower, but way more orchestral and epic!
The boss fight its self was a let down it was really easy but the beast ganon phase was just...SSOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO EPPPPPPPPIC the music in this phase was good tho' XD :3

Looking at it again, how many of us were expecting Ganondorf as a Gerudo? And not this...monstrosity that we fought? Because if they delivered on one thing, it's that none of us were expecting for that thing.
Although with the entire thing with Breath of the Wild 2, it might not even have been by choice.
People: this song is intimidating and makes you nerveous on the fight with Gannon.

I just realized something-
The beginning of this theme, from 0:00 to about 0:04, is rather reminiscent of the theme that plays when you meet Ganondorf for the first time in Twilight Princess.
