    I’m a registered nurse and bringing your own shower slippers is a must! It’s more sanitary for you and it can prevent you from an accidental slip. So if you can, buy anti slip slippers 😊. Also, definitely wear shoes/slippers at all times while walking in the hospital room. Even though the floors get sanitized, people (RNs, MDs, family) will be walking in and out and you wouldn’t imagine the things that might be on the floor and that hospital staff have stepped on (bodily fluids). Trust me! Cannot wait to see baby boy 💙☺️.

      agreed! Unfortunately for me, I didn’t have any even though I was at the hospital for 3 weeks! My son was 5 weeks early and luckily we were able to stay in the hospital with him. Every time I stepped into the shower, I was like “shit. Keep forgetting abt shoes. Ew.” 🤦‍♀️ I did get my waterproof birks like a week later

    I’m pregnant with baby #7 and things I learned I had to have were ear plugs(hospitals can be loud), cheap flip flops to throw away afterwards-floors are gross-don’t take your cute and expensive slippers! Chapstick, your prenatals plus any other meds you take including tums, long charger cable and black as plugs are miles away from bed, big water bottle/cup so you can always have water as nurses get busy and can’t always bring it, and lastly, I brought my favourite sweet treat as a reward for giving birth 😂 so excited to see baby boy! Your bump is sooo cute!

    I say get 2 gowns at least 😊. One for delivery. The baby will go on your gown first thing! Blood and goo! When they change babies blanket and your gown after delivery you and baby can both be in a clean blanket and gown!

    Where I’m from our hospitals gives you a list of what to bring. It’s the very bare minimum. Going home outfit for mom, going home outfit for baby, blanket and car seat. Our hospital also only provides the very least so they provide baby blankets, baby gown and a hat but you don’t take them home. They don’t give you tucks pads, Dermoplast, nipple cream, pacifiers etc. They give you one pair of mesh underwear, postpartum pads, peri bottle, diapers, wipes, and bottles of formula if you choose to bottle feed. They don’t provide any grip socks for mama or a breast pump if you need one. If you ask for any of those things they just tell you purchase it yourself from the gift shop.

    So excited for you!!! As for shower shoes- I am a nursing student so I am in the hospital all the time. If you saw the things that go down that drain… you would probably want shower shoes 🤩🥰💗

    If your laboring at home as long as possible I highly recommend taking a warm or hot shower and breathing through those contractions the water really helped me it’s one of the only things that got me through I labored all at home.

    i recommend shower shoes!! even if they’re thongs (flip flops). i’m always in hospital due to CF (cystic fibrosis) and cannot describe how gross the floors are, even if they’re cleaned, there’s always bacteria xxxx best of luck!! loved the organisation

    Iv’e watched so many of these videos. I used next to nothing in my bag. I was so busy recovering (I tore horribly. Not sure if it was worth pushing for only 20 minutes 😭) so all I used literally was my hygiene products, my pajamas I wore home, and my pillow from home.

      I am 34 weeks tomorrow! How has it been going for you at 37 weeks now? Have you experienced lots of swelling in your feet and legs? Mine were very swollen yesterday for the first time but today they seem fine! I have seen some veeeery swollen feet and legs online and was worried it would only get worse for the next 6 weeks D:
      Best wishes with your labor and delivery! Sounds like your little boy will be here before you know it!!

    • @maggiesouthern3
      @maggiesouthern3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@QuiteQuietASMR It’s getting rough at this point! I probably have preeclampsia so I’m extremely swollen from the knees down. I might be getting induced tomorrow! I’m 38 weeks now :)

    • @QuiteQuietASMR
      @QuiteQuietASMR ปีที่แล้ว

      @@maggiesouthern3 aww man!! Well I wish you the best! Pre-eclampsia is something I’ve been afraid of for a while now because my sister had her baby at 33 weeks due to that, and she was only 3 pounds and was in the Nicu for several weeks. But she’s 5 years old and very healthy now :)
      I’m sorry you’ve had to deal with the swelling and the possibility of an early induction, but you’ve made it to full term and it’s so wonderful to think you’ll get to meet your baby soon!! I’m so excited for you!! I pray everything goes as smoothly as can be for your delivery! 💕

    This is more for after but witch hazel on a pad post birth, you can buy some off amazon, but my sister just used to spray her pad with a few pumps and rub it in, some people freeze it also to make it more soothing and helps with the soreness.

    as an l&d nurse, i definitely think shower shoes are a good idea. Also, idk who told you they dont do footprints anymore 👣 but we definitely do, at least in texas. Maybe its a regional thing but definitely feel like thats unnecessary, unless you heard for sure that your hospital doesn't, which seems wild to me lol. Praying for a safe, smooth uneventful labor and delivery and a healthy mom & baby 💙 can't wait to see baby boy!

    Make sure they do provide the dermaplast, and tucks because my sister in law just gave birth Jan 16 and her hospital only gave her a peri bottle and a pad and nothing else. They didn’t provide anything for her.

    The Mushie pacifier case is made to be attached to the outside of your bag for easy access. Just wrap it around the handle and pull it through itself like you would attach a pacifier clip to a pacifier.

    As I am sure you now know, I would of bought 4 of the hospital gowns. I hated the ones the hospital provided and I bought 4 of them for my 2nd birth and My Mom was literally going to the laundromat (which was just down the street from the hospital) daily for my stuff and taking home my babies stuff and bringing it back in, in the morning. Another thing you might want to bring is a pop up laundry hamper for the Little Person and one for yourself too. The hubby can make a run home or Grandma can run home and do laundry.

    Also please be careful when using essential oils directly on your skin because they are very concentrated and can cause a rash and be toxic if used in high amounts. I suggest diluting the essential oils in coconut or almond oil and then applying it on to the skin! 😊
