Go and look/listen to THAT PEDAL SHOW they do a comparison of a real Leslie cabinet amp vs Neo ventilator ii, EHX lester g, and a Strymon le if you want to hear what all the fuss is about, and by the way the leslie wins by a mile. and so this effort is just another fail to the ear. the L6 helix just don't sound anywhere near the orgasmic leslie rotary sound, somethings just can't be emulated i guess the leslie cabinet amp has a physical feel that even a pedal & stereo amp setup can't hope to copy the guy's on that pedal show had to go wash their dick's after using that old leslie cabinet amp and fair play for the lads they really did try to get those pedals to sound like the Leslie but failed some.
Well, the Neo Vent works for the Stones live on stage, that should prove it‘s validity. And for the same reason stated above with reference to TPS people keep coming back to their tube amps, because of the more authentic amp-in-the-room feel. I had the Neo and the Nux Roctary (which I liked!) and I feel the Helix holds up well. If it is used in a band setting people will not care for the differences, if it is for recording, I would want to see the efforts necessary to capture that „real“ Leslie sound well. Of course the real thing will sound great, as will a cranked Marshall, which is next to impossible at home. I liked the above demo.
This sounds really cool - but, honestly, it sounds more like a univibe than a leslie.
Nick Landess thanks for the comment
That is a great rotary sound! Is this your patch and is it in the custom tone library?
Sounds really nice. What's the settings in the last part ?
