It's nice to see someone who's so respectful and nice to people. Most travel-youtubers are treating locals like props, not people and it's really uncomfortable to watch.
I agree. I recently got turned off by another travel type of channel after he basically ripped off a local who relies on tourists and it was a dangerous adventure. He came off as a very entitled American. I love watching this channel because he becomes a part of the culture.
Muyo has such good energy, to go through a hard break-up and then alcohol and drugs, only to come out of it so positive about love is really awesome to see. Dude has a great laugh too!
A lot of people forget that México is also part of the Caribbean with Cuba, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Barbados, Jamaica and ETC. The distance between Mexico & Cuba is like driving from LA to San Diego. they almost touch each other. The Mexican states of Quintana Roo & Yucatan are part of the Caribbean
@@jasonlo8780 Key West is actually not part of the Caribbean, because it doesn't touch the Caribbean Sea. I can actually see the difference between Key West & the Caribbean. Look at pictures of Key West and then look at pictures of Isla Cozumel, Mexico. Playa Del Carmen, Mexico. Isla Mujeres, Mexico. Las Coloradas, Mexico & Celestun Mexico.
My father worked for a company that owned Chiclets Adams back in the 80/90's. He did tell us about how it used to be a natural product (as shown). My brother and I were early "test subjects" (OG alpha taste testers) for a new chewing gum concept they were developing back in the mid 80's. My father would bring handmade samples from the lab and we'd chew, rate, cleanse palate, chew again, etc. The 'gum' wasn't colored yet and it was sort of a light grey from what I remember. My favorite were the mini-Chiclets but I had so much gum growing up that I totally stopped chewing gum.
I don't know how many years I've been subscribed to you but man this video was great the editing was awesome the choice in music was fire well done Mike!!! Such a huge fan of what you do man
Hello Mike, I’m a big fan of your traveling videos because you show us how not to fear nature and new places just because it’s different or weird or dirty. I would love to ask if there’s any way you can start a 2-3 week adventure retreat in Africa? I know it’s not as easy as it sounds planning something like this, but I really wanted to try and get out of the city and be in touch with nature like our ancestors were instead of being surrounded by technology, chemicals and all modern life conveniences. Please, I would love if you can make that happen. Keep making these videos, they’re very insightful and important.
Your videos are fuckin amazing, brother. I have much respect for you and your willingness to truly experience the culture of the amazing places you visit. And.. im trapped in the Midwest, so I also enjoy living vicariously through you. Thank you for another amazing adventure, man.
Knowing you are from New Brunswick I was super impressed that you knew Spanish so well since we have no exposure to it here at all. I’m guessing you know French too.
Yeah I knew commercial gum is more or less plastic but I also know that there are a few Scandinavia companies who make gum from the gum tree so it's definitely coming back.
the snails in the yukatan can be harvested and fermented in water for weeks then you boil them to produce color a dye there are different species some produce green color another red and the most famous one makes purple and if you add wood ash to the mix in the boiling pot it becomes bright blue thats how the mayans got their colors for dying cloth or paint they would also color chalk powder made from snailshels this way to color their walls and temples and since they had the 3 primary colors they could mix any color they wanted.
I don’t trust much nowadays so not surprised about the plastic bag and tire rubber gum, that’s why I chew honey comb from my bees nice sweet treat and I cook the wax after to filter it into clean beeswax bricks to make chapstick and soap/candles
hey, I've been watching you for a bit. and was wandering if you could gather some music from a lot of different African cultures. i cant help to get entranced by there music (especially the party music), and i think we all could use experiencing that kind of music
I would watch you all do the bare minimum. Is there a way to see everything (or almost everything)? Like the parts that TH-cam doesn’t “see as interesting “?
23:00 honestly not that surprised everything that doesnt come natural is very much plastic, and tires. I would love to try actual gum though. it would probably save our tree problem, since you'd have to grow them to get the gum,
The reason for the secret is because your vision is to heavy and might not get the chicle to get thick instead it would be watery that's the reason why he didn't want nobody around for a certain time.

He respects their culture and customs enough to become part of them and not just exploit the locals for views.

@@Brianjluna nice, thanks for the info brian... I had another question, how about the Bahamas?
Your videos are on such a high level as a traveler! You are truly amazing. Keep up the great work.

Never realized till now that my favorite American gum brand, Chiclets, was derived from the Aztec Mexican word chicle! And that laugh!
Its not aztec and its not mexican its Nahuatl
I don't know how many years I've been subscribed to you but man this video was great the editing was awesome the choice in music was fire well done Mike!!! Such a huge fan of what you do man
Thank you Mujo! I cherish the knowledge, and project my whole hearted love onto you for it.
Muyo's laugh is the quintessence of Mexico.

“I want you to sleep in my bed and dream in my arms “
Aww🥲🥹
You can't figure out the reason of chewing the gum but you buy it anyway
To make your breath smell better?
I guess it's because of boredomness.
Really cool episode dude! 🙌👌
Knowing you are from New Brunswick I was super impressed that you knew Spanish so well since we have no exposure to it here at all. I’m guessing you know French too.

This man is really fearless, I was scared something would snatch him from that kayak💯😂
Love the info about the environment and plant id 👍🌵🌱

11:41 BEST PART SO FAR... LOVELY PLANTS
learned about these in belize pretty dang cool
Literally was chewing gum yesterday thanks for your informative information outstanding videos
My Dad used to make us kids 'Pine Gum' from sap of a certain pine tree where I grew up.
so did you like it? whats it taste like?
Thought the Orchid (18:00) is indeed an Encyclia, it is not E. tampensis. Not sure what species it is though
No Mike, bring that tradition to life by spreading the word. Don't let her die, how much I would like to help you 🤙
Very interesting video 📸
17:50.. dont you mean... solid as a rock.? hahaha
Thanks again for an awsome video.!
No.
It makes sense... I've always thought that how squeaky chewing gum was against my teeth was odd.
32:11 Asked to leave for 15-30 min for them to add the secret ingredient.
What if they have been pranking the entire world since 1850. 😳
Homemade gafs! That is so cool!
I appreciate you also being a biologist!

I'm pretty sure we all knew this one was a lie!??!? Of course we're chewing plastic!
I don’t trust much nowadays so not surprised about the plastic bag and tire rubber gum, that’s why I chew honey comb from my bees nice sweet treat and I cook the wax after to filter it into clean beeswax bricks to make chapstick and soap/candles
Awesome content ❤
17:33 that plant that _shot to the knee_ seemed a lot like the *black poisonwood* from 9:53
Watching and chewing peacefully until I'm not...
Clog your little straw. That made Mr laugh. 😂😂😂
He gonna be soo happy watching himself back 😂😂
12:06 Pretty sure thats a Peniocereus. Related but not really dragonfruit

This is incredible

Would be a sick to get the scaring of the tree tattooed up your leg or arm and up your back
god speaks to me , when he said he lost his woman , i cried at his face changing when he talked about it
I love your videos. My dad's favorite gum was Chicklets. Now knowing what gum is made from I will spread the word. I don't chew gum. Disgusting.
Ok, not gonna chew gum anymore. Thanks for the tips
Oh and great adventure!
I'll go find some spruce and make my own gum from now on.
The only thing that sucks about the South is the summer. Before the days of AC it was unbearable.
so its plastic bag gum vs soapy sap?
My dirty mind be like: this guy looks like Johnny Sins🤣
The reason for the secret is because your vision is to heavy and might not get the chicle to get thick instead it would be watery that's the reason why he didn't want nobody around for a certain time.
Damn. Had no idea. Will stop, for sure
I actually love that black jack gum
They definitely putting something in there that shouldn't be put in the body to make you leave
i think i just learned why chiclets are called chiclets
Interresante vídeo
I need more skeeter ray content ❤❤❤❤❤
8:30 Am I not getting something or why not just take down the dead tree and not the fine trees around it?
what about aspartam inside of chewqing gum?
It pulled every speck of dirt off that concrete. I'll just stick to regular old unhealthy modern gum.
how is old is his mom?
thanks for info
Muyo's laugh 😂😂😂
How do we get some of the real deal!?!?
chewing food aka a food item that you only chew and then spit out has been part of the human story prety much as long as humans existed its alsov closely related to the evolution of dental hygene since chewing sticks with varying nice tastes like for instance licorice tree branches, but bayleaf branches and other tasty sticks were also chewed these were the predesessors of toothbrushes.
gummy stuff was with us pretty much the in same timeline from treeresins to honeycombs.
chewing pine resin can be refreshing but some of the pines output can be way overpowering in taste.
honecomb chewing is like chewing gum but chewing gum falls flat after the sugar is gone honey comb still has the wax taste which has its own nice taste to last you after the honey is gone.
21:33: ahh yes, the tasteful eight
