The master of masters know light and darkness can't exist without eachother but doesn't know when the stronger when the light stronger the darkness gets stronger.
@@skistorm739 Or he’s ignoring it entirely. I’m not exactly sure he’s mentally stable. I mean a normal person would know darkness is necessary for life, and thus light, to exist but him…he’s convinced he can remove darkness totally.

This makes a lot of good sense. Here’s a little more that makes it plausible. Luxord implies Xigbar stashes a “letter”. A letter could be like what Kairi writes to Sora- and if I recall correctly you did have the theory Kairi’s writing predicts or even shapes the future. It may not be the entire book, more like the lost chapter.
But The Box itself has purpose other than what is inside. By not opening the box, the ingredient of surprise is created. Back in KH1, Jack and Finkelstein are using a book that explains the Heartless (The book of prophecies.) to create a Heart. The ingredients needed to make a Heart are gathered. One such ingredient is “surprise”, represented by a Jack-in-the-box.
The other ingredients, starting with “Pulse” all revealed themselves during the events of KHUX. Pulse was given when Luxu and Ava’s strike made the bells ring.

I actually REALLY like this idea. Imagine if the black box contains the SEQUEL to the book of prophecies. Just like some books end in cliffhangers, maybe the book of prophecies is only meant to contain part 1.
I think the Black Box contains the objects used as waypoints for the Foretellers like Maleficent's cloak or Brain's Hat
the idea of this box being simple compared to what we all assumed makes me think back to the whole 'Xenahort is player' thing we all kinda assumed that ended up being a red herring XD but......in all honesty, i wouldn't be that shocked if it does end up being simple. especially when the book of prophecies was technically first mentioned (released wise) in RECoded by MALEFICENT so..... eh

Good theory and it does make a lot of sense. But I think it’s something more out there like perhaps the master of masters true body. Cause honestly I feel like the master of masters face will look like someone we know. Like how Roxas looks like Ventus. Or the box holds a paradox keyblade
Honestly, I'm not even surprised if the master of masters looks like Sora at this point... So much is tied to Sora that it's scary

Sora is called the child of destiny for a reason. He changed the destiny of the world. The box contains hope for the light prevailing the keyblade war. The hope is the complete book of prophecies. The books of the foretellers describe a grim future in the final passage. If the foretellers had the hidden book, the first war wouldn't transpire, thus a temporal paradox would unfold, because of the existing books back then.
The black box being hidden with the book of prophecies would allow the future to occur without anyone trying to change it. Master of Masters wanted to create a way for the world to come back after the world was consumed by darkness. He felt like he would be the only one that would understand that you can’t change words that are already written, but you can change what happens after. The Master of Masters tampering with the timeline must involve Sora and Kairi’s connection because they are the reason the world came back after everything was consumed by darkness. Maybe that’s why she was the princess of radiant garden that all the sudden ended up on destiny island with Sora?
I always imagined some evil God of Darkness would escape if the box were opened. But I think the Book of Prophesies would be even scarier compared to a monster.
Or some evil deity of light. I mean I don’t trust the Master of Masters, he gives me cult leader/sociopath vibes. Plus it would fit with the idea of the goodness of light and the evil nature of darkness being all based upon a person’s opinion. In essence I think it has to do with light and isn’t a good thing. Which means the MoM still has a good whacking coming to him.
The truth is that light can corrupt and darkness can also be used for good, nothing is in black and white, it’s all grey
@@evanroberts5045 Exactly. It’s something the people of the Kingdom Hearts universe have seem to forgotten. Hopefully Sora and the others will come to learn this fundamental truth but whether it will be by force or by willingness I do not know.

I like this! I have like three different Black Box theories (that the Box contains nothing, that Unreality is in there and that the True Darknesses came from it like Pandora's box), and this one gets added to the list!
Great video Landi! It’s a large box so I could def see a copy of the “complete Book of Prophecies” being in it as well as another mystery!
I think it’s more a temporal paradox in the case that once luxu reads the book himself he becomes the mom like becoming his higher self once again in a sense , hence why the mom is so stern about luxu specifically not reading the book and it also explains why when the box vanished so did the mom because the medium for his existence also vanished hence why he’s back now that the box is back and will eventually assimilate with luxu possibly in quadratum

I've always wondered why nobody mentioned Maleficent literally saying this in KH3. I believe she says something about it in Re:coded as well, in the realm between with Pete near the end of the 2.5 HD movie. (Specifically, scene 49 "A Fairy Tale", in case you don't want to sit through all of Re:coded, which is fair 😂)
This makes me curious though... Why is it such a large box, if it's a similar shape to the Book seen in Back Cover? Is it possible that the Book for this timeline isn't the only thing in there? I used to think that it also held a replica body for the Master of Masters, but in that case how is he in the ReMind DLC?
And to top it all off, here's a question that you should make a theory video on: HOW did Luxu summon these foretellers back? And ONLY 4 out of 5? What actually happened to them at the end of KHx? Did they die? And if so, how are they here right now? Do they remember the end of KHx? If they do, then they should've been way more hostile towards each other, since presumably they slaughtered each other...
I don't know this subject can be as complex as is it simple.
Personally I think the Black box may contains something to bring back the Keykids from Union X as MoM said he had his plans to bring them back
About the Book of Prophecies, I don't know. there is many copies. Maybe the Black Box contains the one Mom personally wrote first with al the informations. But there is also copy Ephemer received with Master's defender. We know what happened of the keyblade but not the book. Maybe the book was kept in Scala, and this copy with help the Guadians of Lights in the future KH or it was lost during the first fall of Scala. And as Brain read it he kept it in mind during the second Scala.
But it's a good theory

I’ve been saying that the Black Box contains the book of prophecies from the beginning
I like this theory most out of everything I've heard so far... Honestly though, I'm pretty sure the box doesn't have anything in it yet. Or rather that it hasn't been decided what's in the box yet, you know, leaving it intentionally vague so anything can be put in there if a particularly out of left field deus ex machina is needed. A lot of the frustrating convolution of Kingdom hearts' story seems as though it is down to having to patch plot holes and legitimize retcons. Having an ace in the sleeve, so to speak, would be a very wise thing to do in a series like KH.
This actually makes a lot of sense. We know the master of masters wrote the book of prophecies based off of what he saw through No Name. What if the book given to the foretellers was the original version, which led to the events necessary for the real book of prophecies to exist. Therefore, the book, and by connection the box, would not exist so long as Sora fails. This would basically have 2 timelines: one where Sora fails and the book doesn’t exist and one where Sora goes back in time and succeeds, bringing the box into existence. In one timeline the master creates the idea of the box, so that in the other it can come to truly exist. Of course there are plenty of holes in this theory, the biggest one being “wouldn’t the mere existence of the box dramatically change the timeline”, but I feel that depending on what info missing link gives us this could definitely be a possibility
What I think might be the case with the black box is that it has the potential to kickstart the reunion of the world that once was (all worlds as one world), or even reset everything and perhaps even revive everyone -but there is probably some catch to it. First everyone needs to find their own "light" and face the darkness, even integrate the darkness as it's just another part of the coin (becoming whole in that sense) or maybe the impact of the box would be too powerful to bear, or something like that.
Maybe it is that straight forward. I kind if think it might contain something belonging to each of the Foretellers, allowing Luxu to call them to that time, but we won't know until we know.
I also like damo's theory that it is the data backup. It's nice to think of all the different things it could be.

Good Theory and it comes close to what I think. But I'm still not convinced. The first Problem: Why should there even be 2 Books? What purpose does a second edition have? Sure more looking into the future but I guess there is a reason why the Master should return now. So we probably have reached the time he wanted to reach. Why should he do the same again and saying "Yeah Luxu we need more pages go another few years around with my Keyblade".
Second Problem: I guess the reaction of Luxu whats inside the Box would be more confused then surprised at this point.
And the last Problem: The darkness would knew about this second book since they were there when the words were written.
This seems pretty accurate but I think there are additional items Maleficent wasn't privy to as well. The Crowns perhaps?

I personally think the box containes a host for the MoM, i mean, Luxu has MoMs waypoint, and also MoMs eye, not to mention Luxu was told to hold onto the box but open it.
During the ending to Union X Luxu could have used that specific host for one of the Dandelions, but due to MoMs instructions, couldent.

I think that the ‘fake’ boxes we see in kh3 are the biggest hints. We see pandoras box, that contains great darkness and also hope, and the chest containing davy jones heart. So what if it is as simple as the chest containing the MoMs heart. The hooded figure we’ve seen is his nobody, his heart is in the box and he’s sending it forwards in time as a way to recomplete himself on the other side of the world lost to darkness. The master did say he was essentially taking a break, what if that’s literally his plan, just riding it out after setting his plan in motion and waking up on the other side to his reward. Of course that would still lead his nobody to need vanquishing, making that the antagonist for kh4. Who knows maybe he goes full roxas and rejects his fate.
Some thoughts. It was stated that the books of prophecy given to the foretellers were missing a page. All except for one which is the one belonging to the traitor. The master knows luxu is the traitor but did not give him a book. He also told him never to open the box. So what if he did this knowing luxu the traitor would open the box and inside the box... the complete book of prophecies thus fulfilling what was said about the traitor having the missing page. There may also be more than one thing inside the box. It is a really big box.
No the missing page does not belong to the traitor. The missing page was given to Gula and his role was to find the traitor.
Kingdom Hearts games are full of mysteries!
It is possible. However it really doesn't fit with the Pandora box, Hope, and Heart symbolism that the box has. Nor does it really fit with Luxu's reaction to being told what is in the box.
I am not against the idea, I just think that the book itself would need to get something more then it has shown right now.
Perhaps a copy of the Master's Heart is in the True Book in the Box.
What I dont get is why the MoM told him not to open the Black Box (Paradox lol yeah). Did MoM teach Luxu how to open it?? Having another book of prophecies is a bit of poor writing. But I suggest that the Black box is the only way to contain the true darknesses (Referencing to the Pandora Box from Greek Mythology).
This makes sense, their probably a way to release the locked up darkness's as well. More waiting as usual.
Great video as you always do Landi but this is a good question like it’s possible the book of prophecies would be in the box but again why would it be unless it contains different interpretations and information compared to the copies the Foretellers have
Nice theory, i think i heard this theory before. I can see the master putting a new book of prophesies in, his own heart or true body in the box, ( like xehenort in kh1), The 1st darkness, etc. Theres so many possibilities

The old book of prophecy told of a grim future it was spoken into existence by the “Master of Masters”. The new box and book of prophecy was created when sora and his friends changed destiny and created the current future of light. Thus making their own book of prophecy. This means whoever reads that book can see how light prevails and use their tactics to change the good future back to evil. Just my thoughts . 😅
I dig this theory, particularly because of Maleficent and a theory I have about KH4 and what we might see in Quadratum. I've heard others propose the idea that perhaps some of the worlds in Quadratum could maybe be the live action Disney movies, and while I'm not a fan of the actual movies I feel like Nomura could put them to good use in the KH series. We already have 2 live action Maleficent movies, so going back to the Book of Prophecies and temporal paradoxes, perhaps Maleficent getting her hands on it would lead to her getting to Quadratum as the live action version. She's kinda been sidelined for awhile now in the series so something like this could make her relevant again.

Actually, Riku's Light is what created the portal that chains the Seven Guardian together. Riku and Sora are both chose to be Dark Vessels, and they jump Worldlines, as the Child of Destiny.
Now, The Black Box is probably design to obscure Darkness's sight. Xigbar, the "dingbat in Black" is leading Maleficent, and by extension, Darkness on a Wild Goose Chase. Xigbar has already see the Child of Destiny in Dream Drop Distance, and Scala knows about the Child, which is why Player takes Xehanort to Destiny Islands.
However, Darkness doesn't know, which is intentional by the Master of Masters. Can't have Darkness thinking he "cheated".

Couldn't it just hold mediums for the Foreteller's to reconstruct their bodies? How else did Luxu make them appear. He holds memories of them, inside the box are the medium's and so their hearts traveled through time and they appeared. We don't know if he didn't open the box before this scene. Luxu could have been surprised when he found out because he didn't see the point of his fellow apprentices being brought to the future when their role was completed once they expired in the Keyblade War. He may not have been allowed to open the box right away because it wasn't time to bring them back (or forward through time I guess).

Landi lodge and everyone I know this is off topic but in kh2 no one was supposed to remember maleficent and yet the three fairies remembered her and she came back, but did anyone realize that Sora Donald Goofy remembered her first alongside Pete shouldn't that have been the cause of her coming back at first and not because of the fairies.
I really like this theory. However, one thing that bothers me about it is that Maleficent doesn't seem like she THINKS that the box contains a (or in this case THE) BoP, she seems like she knows that it is in there. And my question about that is, how does she know? I'm most likely forgetting something, so correct me if I'm wrong here. I suppose Luxu could have told her and the only reason I could see that being true would be if he knew it would get her on the hunt. Idk lol

This theory just tracks. Particularly with the Foretellers being able to time travel to a future with the black box in it.
If my assumption about the Foreteller’s return is correct, this is the version of them from the KHux Worldline, where the Keyblade War was successfully avoided in the past
This BoP within the Black Box could even be Brain’s copy of the BoP. If the Black Box were empty up until Brain hid it within KHux’s Keyblade Graveyard, most everything would logically follow
The keyblade war wasn’t successfully avoided. It happened because it had to happen to end Daybreak and set things in motion.

@@toddlemmon01 Yup, the consequences of the KHx Keyblade War followed the Dandelions even after they fled across to a different Worldline. In KHux, the Keyblade War was avoided, but the Darknesses that successfully fled that war alongside the Dandelions still destroyed Daybreak Town, just without much resistance. My Theory postulates that each of the two Worldlines only had one Keyblade War, in KHx the War happened in the past(KHx) and the World was destroyed by Darkness in the future (KH3). While in the KHux Worldline the World was destroyed by Darkness in the past (KHux) and the Keyblade War fought in the future (KH3). The difference being when the Guardians of Light stood up to face the Darkness in a Keyblade War, and when the World falls to Darkness with no Guardians to stop it, are swapped between the KHx and KHux Worldlines

The black box contains Sora's memory of his identity as Yozora (as the Book of Prophecies) and thus is his ability to wake in the real world and Yozora is the Master of Masters after Sora awakes AS him in FFXV. He realizes that he must go back to sleep and make himself find himself by time traveling in his imagination/sleep realm (Kingdom Hearts) in order to wake up (it's circular) and all of Kingdom Hearts was a dream all along. DDD was a dream within a dream. Also... go look at how much Noctis slept in FFXV... sus, he's being Sora in his sleep. The book of prophecy in the black box MUST remain sealed or Sora will remember that he IS the Master of Masters. You're welcome ;)

Nobody is saying it so I will. The presence of Pete and Maleficent in KHIV will cheapen the experience and cheapen the importance of the black box.
And what does this mean?
I have being so against Disney for the last years, that I totally forgot that I love Kingdom Hearts. And now It feels weird.

How is this maleficent 's theory? She never states this in the game.
She equates finding the box with obtaining the book of prophecies, she states it in Olympus.

While a good theory of Maleficent's, a new Book of Prophecies cannot be in the box. The sole reason is that Luxu knew he'd get the Keyblade back, he knew the box would come back and he knew the Foretellers would come back.
None of that was in the original book. And since the box is sealed, he never opened and read the book.
Yet if he would've, a paradox would've happened which is what the MoM was trying to avoid, so why tell Luxu if he knew Luxu would read it?
A paradox in and of itself.
No, the box doesn't contain another book of Prophecies.
Perhaps Lux? No.
A reset button? No. Too dangerous in anyone else's hands except for the Master. Doesn't matter how much he trusts Luxu.
A body? Doubtful as Luxu is able to lug it around long distances with almost no issues.
Light? No, as Kingdom Hearts is pure light.
My theory: The other Darknesses.
The box was originally empty which is why Luxu was so surprised. He had to Scooby Doo the Darknesses into the box and await the Foretellers return. Once returned, Luxu, knowing of the plan to have all of them be possessed by the darknesses, allowed himself to be possessed by the Darkness that was once called Vanitis (or possibly another darkness). When the Foretellers return, he needs to open the box and allow them to be possessed by the remaining Darknesses.
