Thanks for the info! I never considered having a separate mixing template from my recording template!! Question, only my Presonus plugins have an image of the effect. My Slate Digital and other 3rd party plugins do not, but I see yours do. How can I make that happen? I have StudioOne 4.6 on a MacPro.
So I have a song and I want to save a template of that song...When I do that it saves the whole song including audio files etc as a template....Can't I just save the chanells, busses, effect and routing? Weird. I'm coming from pro tools? Help
Yes, it saves everything in the session. Then you can create a new "song" with that template and when it opens with all the audio simply delete it and the "save as template" again and this time click on "replace existing" when the dialogue box pops up. I don't know of any other way to do it.
I use the Studio One 3 Professional and the QU-24 mixer. When I do the New Song I choose the QU 24.2.4 setup with the same settings you gave. The mixer then shows with every channel to record. I choose the mics for solo and instruments to record. I want to play out the tracks recorded to another soloist and instrumental player so they can add their tracks. Is there a video out there showing how to set this up and actually implement this?
Suppose you've mixed a song, using specific routings/sends/fancy stuff in S1's Splitter. Would it make sense to use "SAVE AS" (using a new name like "Template 1") Then delete all the recorded audio and midi stuff, then just use "SAVE". Then start recording the next song. This would be like a recording AND mixing template. Is there an obvious fatal flaw in doing something like this? (Assuming consistent gain staging/recording levels. And all of that stuff).
Yes, in version 4.5 I believe you can do this. Thanks for watching! Get 25% off all Studio One training today www.homerecordingmadeeasy.com/presonus-studio-one-training
@@HomeRecordingMadeEasyDavid, my issue is u say in your video u want to do a basic template setup but the the plugins you are using are not basic they are truly advance in nature and the title u said for beginners this video should be for the people that are advance because beginners would not have these plugins

Dayum those are expensive plugins, hehehe. are there any suites like UAD and Waves that don't cost 10's of thousands to get? (I already have Komplete but they kinda don't sound right)
check out Gobbler and prescribe monthly to several plug in groups like Slate digital, McDsp, SSl you can pause the subscription when you don´t need them..free updates and free new aded plugins. I use the Gobbler option for many of my plugs, except for those that I have purchased like Sonny Oxford, Antares, Waves, etc
My template is a bit more involved. I like having my tracks labeled then I can just drag and drop. That way everything is already routed and color coded.
That's the great thing about using templates. You can make it as simple or complex as you like :) Thanks for watching www.homerecordingmadeeasy.com www.mixingmadeeasy.net

Dont put a click track in your template. Its not a huge deal but it comes up and tells me its a missing files everytime I open anything now. Its just annoying
Dave, do you have a separate recording template for when you are starting at the tracking stage? A template that gets you ready for recording with a band ready to go

you can do it this way as well. There are many ways to do the same things in S1

David, Great Video! Can you import this template into a session that already has audio and midi tracks. If so, is there a tutorial on that? Thanks!
Yes, in version 4.5 I believe you can do this.
