I LOVE altered chords, especially in the final verse. It is like candy for the ear. I dont understand why so many churches dont even have an organ, the king of all instuments. Pop style worship to me is nothing special and belongs on a stage or radio.

I attend All Saints Indianapolis Episcopal Church it is an Episcopal Church obviously and we sing this song every All Saints Sunday or All Saints Day and they have it on key very good if I'm ever in Lincoln Nebraska definitely will attend this church
This glorious hymn is sung in EVERY Episcopal church in America on the first Sunday in November which is All Saints Day and probably other denominations as well. We're doing it this Sunday 11.3.19 in the Methodist church that I'm subbing in.
There is NOTHING, NOTHING like the music in a traditional Episcopal Church. Especially when they have an organist like this on. Just absolutely amazing!

My stomach turns over when I see the U.S. American political flag in the sanctuary of a church. I see this as a desecration of the sacred space, and it shows me that the U.S.-Americans have neither culture nor behaviour. Even in our most nationally-conscious United Kingdom, no one would even think of doing such a thing. It would probably cause a shit storm of indignation.
Mik Be, I was reared in the deep south in the United States. It is an ultra conservative region, as is the midwest where this video was recorded. Unfortunately, many people in these areas conflate nationalism and religion. Sadly, they believe that it is patriotic. I have said, many times, that the American flag has no place in a house of worship. A person is a Christian first, and an American a distant second. One has nothing to do with the other. I agree with you 100%.
First, I'd say those folks are not there to worship a flag (neither the U.S. flag, nor the Christian flag on the opposite side), but they are worshiping the Lord Jesus Christ. Second, if having a flag is an error, well, the world is inhabited by humans that are fallible, so, mistakes will be made in churches-in America, and in the U.K. as well; no U.K. church is superior to any U.S. church, and vice versa. Third, what makes the space they're in sacred? 1 Cor. 3 says we are the temple of God, the Spirit of God dwells in us, the temple is holy (sacred), and that is what we are. That's a beautiful reminder to me that we are the church, not a building, because Christ is in us, and we are in Him, and we are all part of His body. So, we should focus on the things of God that unite us, and not on lesser things (like the presence of a flag) that can divide us, and treat one another with respect and love, in the spirit of our Lord Jesus.
