- This is a 3D Printed RC SkidSteer that has an added FPV camera, this allows the driver to sit front seat and really embrace the RC FPV experience. Everything is 3D printed and opensource.

OK, so the next step is internet control of the MiniSkidi. Person A and person B set up a mini-warehouse with a MiniSkidi. Person A controls the MiniSkidi in person B's warehouse and vice versa. Then you run a challenge to see who can stack all the pallets first. The game goes national, then global. You retire rich, after figuring out to monetize this game. Following that, develop some AI using a vision system to have the MiniSkidi stack the pallets.

If a server hosted a TCP socket server and the machines connected to it, with different remotes also connected to the server, you could just run a server out on the web somewhere and have people connect to it to join the game

Hell yea! You need a “fork lift” mode so that the forks are always parallel with the ground! Looks like so much fun!

If I had to explain to my family, why I enjoyed so much watching a grown ass guy, driving a miniature skid steer with FPV, loading tiny plastic pallets onto a small plastic warehouse shelf, they won’t understand 😂 Thanks for the great content. Your controls are very similar to those of the John Deere Skiddy I use at work. Left hand joystick is your movement control (forward, back, turn) and right hand joystick is bucket control. Pulling back raises the boom, left tilts the bucket/forks up, right dumps, and forward lowers the boom. Pretty sweet build for sure

Maybe add a little bit of a low-pass filter to the keyboard inputs to make the motions less jerky and make it easier to perform slower motions by modulating how often you tap or how long the taps are?
Makes me wish I had some of the fpv stuff. Could be a fun thing to set up at some kind of convention.

I would love it if you got a pair of HDZero goggles and used the head tracking to add pan/tilt functionality to the camera system! That would be amazing. There is probably a better system than pan/tilt, and other goggles probably support head tracking too, but I think you get the suggestion here.

I got one of those but I ended up getting the foxeer run can and it is 1200 tvl and it has great color and no fuzziness.
You should make it third person almost Birds Eye view, then you could use the claw, and probably get motion sick

you can use 2 fpv cam for rear and front view.. just use same channel and use power switching..

I just got my electronics kit in the mail yesterday and I"m currently printing the parts! Definitely going to make the dump truck too. I am fairly new to microcontrollers/electronics and can do basic coding (mostly because I took a few classes in college years ago). I wouldn't mind a video walk through of the code, especially focused on the web page hosting and interaction. I've browsed your source code file and get lost tying to fully understand the web socket portion.
I will definitely keep that in mind when looking at videos to make in the future. The code would definitely be hard to grasp without a deeper explanation especially the web socket portion as it’s been arduino-ized haha.

I need a tiny skid steer. Very very cool. I'd like something relatively realistic, but not $1200 and so hyper realistic is only works in actual scale scenarios..... (RC4WD/TUCAN HOBBY). Ive been making genaric FPV systems from this cheap IOS cams forever, and some actually are pretty good. Spectrum/fatshark USED TO offer a nicer version that you could get x2/$40 but they are discontinued.
Love the concept. Any way I can add a receiver to this and use my elrs tx for this? Or a Bluetooth Xbox controller?
Yeah absolutely, there’s a couple arduino libraries that make it really easy to bind to a console controller
Great video. This is exactly what I meant with a forklift design. How is the miniskidi performing going uphill? Can it bring a load up a ramp? Can it build a pyramid?
Thank you! The skidi can go up a small Incline but the main restraining factor would be the grippiness of the tires. Def could build a pyramid with enough patience haha

Hi mate. Any tips on how to print the drive shafts? I’m trying PLA and PETG but both stat very fragile, impossible to put the wheel without break it. Tried with more flow, different speeds… but same result. Any tips? Thanks for your job!
Hello, I actually just updated the drive system to fix this very problem. It will require downloading the new parts off of printables but the main housing and drive shafts together are way stronger. Also consider printing out the new 4.0 drive belt.

The latency is actually really good on this setup, and the controls are less intuitive than you would think on a normal rc controller with this many things to control
Is there any way that we can get this to pair with a PS4 controller or something. That would give much better control. The phone control is a little clunky
Yeah pairing the esp32 to a ps2/4 controller is actually super straight forward. There’s a couple pre made libraries that can be utilized to configure it. I’ll work on making that an option in the future

Someone needs to fork the MiniSkidi code and add PS3 and PS4 controller support to it. That someone might be me if I get a wild hair up my ass in the next few weeks, but if someone wants to beat me to it I won't complain.
