Attention all pilots: PLEASE take note of how Max looks at and reads his checklists at every transition point. NEVER assume that you have “memorized“ the checklists and know what you’re doing at all times. Again, PLEASE use your checklists at all times, no matter how experienced you think you are. Skipping checklists is a recipe for disaster.
I do however want to emphasize the importance of memorizing the checklist. ESPECIALLY EMERGENCY PROCEDURES!! It makes for a substantially better pilot, bc it keeps you ahead of the plane. Run your flow, then look over the checklist to make sure you didn’t miss anything. The nice part of ForeFlight is you can put the checklist on the app, and can check off each item as you go, so if you get pulled away from the checklist midway through, you can quickly start right back up where you left off. You can also easily make changes to it, so, if you don’t like the order in, which the POH lists the items, you can change them around to a flow that works best for you, further enhancing safety and efficiency. I’m also pretty sure that if you have the capability of connecting your iPad to your headset is the aux, cord or Bluetooth, (or you just have a very quiet aircraft) there is an option for ForeFlight to read aloud the checklist to you as a copilot would
amen
Top pilots never use checklists. They just wing it...
See I agree and disagree as a CFI. It’s important to use checklists to check that you’ve completed items, but it’s also important to limit heads down time. I generally teach a flow+checklist method. Complete a flow, and use the checklist to make sure you complete that flow correctly. This allows you to not only to be more efficient(generally with a rolling run up and two people onboard you can get off like a jet), but allows you to not rely solely on your checklist when completing items, which can be equally as dangerous
Personally I really don’t like the “read and do” method of using checklists that you typically see at flight schools. I’ve seen it far too many times where a student would miss multiple items on a checklist from constantly moving their head up and down to make changes and their thumb slipping from their reference item. It’s even worse in the air when you really should be focusing on flying as your first priority. The before landing checklist should really be GUMPFS followed by a look at the before landing checklist. A flow will get most if not all of it, and the checklist should be used to check for missed items.

You were 11nm behind me during that approach! I was flying that KLM 787 (KLM601); I even shouted hey Max on the freq.😊
Oh wow that is awesome!
Ha! That’s awesome
It's interesting to see a 787 pilot following a PJ pilot on TH-cam. You'd think it would be the other way around. = }
Geweldig

I am inspired by how organized all operations involved in flights are.
In my opinion, if you want to be rich, you just need to take the control of your life. Take initiative and be ready to work and think hard. I opened my portfolio with Mr Samuel Peter Descovich as a side hustle (started with almost nothing), but it was a tough journey which is now paying greatly. It makes my life so much easier (I get like 35000$ profits each month, and I can save like 70% of that). But if it wasn't for my hard work, strong will and Samuel Peter Descovich(My Portfolio Manager). His service saves me a lot of time in general, because everything is prepared for me), I wouldn't have achieved anything.
Thank you so much for the advice. Your coach was simple to discover online. I did my research on him before I scheduled our phone call. He appears knowledgeable based on his online resume.
This information is valuable. I quickly searched his full name and his website appeared instantly, showcasing his impressive qualifications. Thank you for sharing.
I couldn't agree more. Taking charge of your life and putting in the hard work is the path to success. Having a portfolio manager like Mr. Samuel Peter Descovich is a game-changer. Their expertise and guidance can truly transform your financial journey. Making $35,000 in profits each month and saving 70% of that is quite impressive! They save you time and provide valuable insights that lead to impressive profits. Keep up the amazing work, and enjoy the fruits of your labor..
@@Bradleyschaeffer376What the hell are you people talking about?
I'm extremely impressed with the professionalism of this pilot. I would feel very safe with him taking me anywhere.
He's ok.
hope your not a democrate voter, these people want people hired for their DEI and skin color ..not their skill..imagine getting on a plane with a pilot that was allowed to pass all their pilot tests with extra points becouse of their skin color or gender....that is the world dem's want..that is fact, not a hyperbole
Thanks for taking us along, Max. Stay safe.
Thanks for the flight, enjoyed the interaction.
23:53 Always nice when you get a super chill controller like that! Enjoyed the back and forth CYAs hahah
Aviation mastery as its finest. Always an inspiration, Max.
Thanks for watching and your kind words!!
So cool
Always great to be right-seat with CitationMax!! Thanks for the ride
Thank you!
Great ride as always 👏
Max, you have really mastered the citation 3+. It’s almost as if they built the jet around you! Most beautiful scenery at Jackson Hole! Keep your videos coming!
Thank you for watching! Appreciate your nice words. Take care
Am watching from Australia. My father flew us around as kids in a Cessna, but as he made more money he got bigger planes. By that stage, I wouldn’t go on a prop anymore. When I was young I had no fear and dad was a perfectionist in everything he did so I trusted him completely. As I got older I didn’t trust them, and if dad wasn’t piloting that was it. He did nearly buy a Learjet and we were all so excited but he bought an air charter company instead. So disappointing. 😂 Flying was his passion and when he developed heart issues he just stopped as he felt he wasn’t safe anymore. We lost him last December aged 87, and until the end he missed his flying terribly. I think he always felt free up there. Dad ❤️ The scenery there is stunning, have never seen Jackson Hole, or even heard of it but it is beautiful. He would have loved the Citation!
always a great day when max drops a banger
Thanks Ian!
Yet another awesome right seat flight! Still love watching your expertise, that spool-up sound at take-off, the incredible scenery, and the beautiful blue sky. Safe flights always and thank you for taking us along!
Thanks for watching! Appreciate it
Busy airport, but all handled well and made it seem like a pretty peaceful approach. Especially nice getting that runway and a short taxi away from all the commotion.
how calm you stay in all the situations is so pleasing to see.
Hats off to the beautiful professionalism displayed at all points during this flight. They made it look easy, which it isn’t. 👏
ATC speaks so fast I could never be a pilot because I'd constantly be like "huh? what? say that again..."
My son-in-law is a Marine Corps pilot (Ospreys). He spent many hours listening to ATC recordings on TH-cam while in flight school to train himself for the speed of those interactions.
It’s not as difficult as you might think. Most of the times you’ll already know what the controller tells you. Basically you’re just double or triple checking everything. Remember safety is the top priority in aviation - that’s the first thing you learn in flight school.
My guess is everything becomes automatic. Him hearing ATC is like going thru the same fast food line everyday ordering the same thing.
That Mountain View at departure was beautiful.
Such a pleasant experience watching your videos mate. Really inspiring and encouraging to watch. Thanks for bringing us along Max.
Thanks for watching my friend! Glad you enjoyed the video.
Always sir. Thank you! @@CitationMax
If my parents bought me a jet it would inspire me too.
@@osotegreatGreat comment mate, really insightful and supportive. Hope your day tomorrow is better.
Great Flying, I flew A4s, then f/A 18’s till 2015. The Citation has a lot
of room!
This was a very enjoyable video to watch and major respect to all you professionals like Max flying into these airports! Well done. This was my first Max video:) look forward to more as I learn!
That landing view showed probably the lightest traffic on the 405 I've ever seen.
Do you have a time?
Yeah I was thinking whoa where are all the cars
At 15:35 it's possible to see how a live weather update looks like in real life 😂. Great video!
That was a treat seeing the cockpit approach view that most only get to see out the side of a fingerprint smudged window. Thanks for sharing.
Always amazed at your professional skills. You certainly look like you love flying. Living vicariously through you. Thanks.
Appreciate your kind words! Thanks very much for watching.
28:40 - The ground down below is where Pacino was chasing De Niro at the end of Heat. Airports would never allow the filming of such scenes today.
This is literally the channel and content we’ve wanted as I’m embarking on my license. It answers so many questions just watching this! I’ve travel the world 5 times in total and always felt at home in transit, like a citizen of the world, so I invested to get my private license and eventually commercial. Subscribed!
The SOUND of that takeoff roll with speakers on loud is something else !!! Can only imagine what taking off hot, heavy, and high would be like. Amazing, thanks for the video !
Wow, I love flying, just hate being treated like a sardine on airlines. This was all the good, none of the bad. Thanks for taking us along. 😊🎉
Look into semi-private flights. I fly JSX all over the west and they’re pretty close to commercial fares.
Stop flying on the broke class flights and you wouldn't be packed in a like a sardine lol
Who are you, Donald Trump?
@@ronaldhorton2438 Sure. There are 757’s available for charter, but they don’t have gold fixtures and your name on the side.
Looks like very nice and professional pilot. Thank you for sharing video . All the best mate.
Max, one of the most complex airports in the country and you make it look so easy. For what ever reason, I'm always 1 step behind in the MSFS Longitude but 1 step head in the PMDG 737. Can't figure it out but, your videos are extremely inspirational and the do make me a better pilot. Thanks for sharing.
Wow, that Citation really gets with it. Im a huge G650 fan because of size but im impressed with the power of the aircraft. Great piloting skills. Amazing communication.
One of the best channels on TH-cam. Keep flying Max!❤❤
Amen.
Thank you very much!
That is the best pull out of Jackson's Hole I have ever seen, congrats.
Don't know how I came across this but wow!
I took pilot lessons back in the 70's in a Cessna 150 and landing was always, always, always a nightmare!
Your landing had me right back in that cockpit with my instructor, Bob Charlton and yes he'd throw his hands up off the yoke allowing a 15 yr old kid to land!
Scared shitless! 😅
I'm 60 now and my physical exam revealed I was color blind so didn't pursue aviation but damn it was fun.
Thanks!
Navigating LAX during rush hour in a private jet exemplifies the epitome of luxury travel, combining efficiency, comfort, and exclusivity.
Always love seeing you fly into and out of west coast airports. Thanks for having us along.
Thanks for watching!
Citation Max makes everything look so easy. He’s smooth as anything. I would trust him with my life for sure!!
Very cool Max. I am not a pilot, just a fan. I'm surprised that the wake of the Dreamliner you were following caused you that turbulence I noticed. That was a very cool video. The scenery shots are much appreciated. Happy Holidays to you.
Thank you Sir for having us aboard. It was a wonderful flight
Awesome stuff Max. I love your vids, this one for the arrival into LAX makes it amongst the best. The L.A scenery, the aircraft landing on the parralel runway, the monstrous LAX airport, all that rubber on the runway and all those heavies. Just great.
Thanks for taking the time to set up cameras and narrate - all while keeping safety as #1 priority. Love watching, stay safe!
ATC in movies: *Serious bunch of lads*
ATC in real life: "Keep this FL until someone tells you not to, STUUU"
Thanks for a wonderful return to LAX - many arrivals there as PAX - but only one overflying as PIC through VFR corridor out of SNA decades ago - exciting airspace.
I was actually doing a short flight in msfs and the air traffic controller told someone to do something but I heard him say tree tree tree tree and I thought it was funny 😂
Legendary flight, by a legendary pilot. Well done Max. Cheers my friend.
Thank you my friend!
Today I have watching several of your videos and its great fly alongside you across the country. Thank you for this. After having a stroke my dream of getting my pilot license went away. Now watching your videos makes me feel like I’m right there with you flying across the country. Keep up with the videos and I will be with you flying along. 👍
Having flown in an out of Jackson Hole many times to visit in-laws it’s great to finally see the pilot’s view.
Every time I fall in love with that FADEC! Amazing. But I am surprised there is not auto throttle. Nonetheless, it's a magnificent aircraft! As are those Longitudes and Latitudes making their ways about early in the video. I love this plane!
Thanks very much Bill! Hopefully auto throttles come someday soon. Definitely would help in situations like the LAX arrival. Appreciate you watching the video! Take care
Thank you max. You are a good instructor. I really respect your love for aviation. Great video.
Thank you for watching! Appreciate your kind words. Take care
I wish you would do more content here on TH-cam
Second that. When I read the headline I said oh my God❤❤😮
I’ve only been to two airports where I was cleared the STAR and IAP. Frankfurt and LAX. When you get one of those clearances, it is an amazing feeling. Two radio calls and you’re on the ground. That’s definitely the sweet spot.
Anyone see trumps plane on the ramp or was it just me?
Not just you. Wonder what he was doing there.
I looked but did not see his plane, what minute index is it?
@@robertkeeler3024 at the very end, last 30 seconds or so. It definitely was.
@@BKetch that was prompt. Thanks
That’s the one that got repossessed not long ago
Every time that I watch one of these aviation videos, I marvel at how commonplace air travel has become in my lifetime. The ancients who dreamed of flight would be ecstatic to have an opportunity to travel like this.
Wrong, ancients were advanced - educate yourself in what Vimana was back in the past. Time goes in cycles and it's not linear, pal - nothing new under the sun.
Calm, cool and collected. Staying in the pocket on that landing, very nice!
Thanks very much! Appreciate you watching the video
Watched that takeoff from Jackson Hole twice… such beautiful scenes. Thanks for sharing.
Made it look so easy! And so did the controllers. Lovely
Was that Trump force one 😂
I live near Pittsfield municipal airport and there are jets like this taking off and landing all the time and I find it so relaxing. I really enjoy this video seeing it from the other side.
Trump 757 spotted
God Bless you Fellow Coasty and thanks, will follow always.
Nice looking cj3+. Fairly easy to work on compared to the older citations.
Beautiful day out there!
So awesome to watch. Thank you for sharing
I'm a retired SoCal Controller, glad to see someone post a positive experience with ATC
LOVE flying places with ya! Really look forward to all of your videos! THANK YOU!
Thank you! Appreciate you watching the video!
The controllers were amazing. Truly a showing of respect given and respect received.
What a great approach to LAX. Loved seeing you short the approach and it looked like you greased the landing!
I’m down in San Diego, LAX is just a tad busier 😝. Makes one appreciate all the details. Thanks and be safe out there .
Hey Max , you're pretty sharp ! Nice flight !
This guy really makes me think I can be a private pilot. He follows the book, does the checklist and flys, I can definitely do that.
Max, you’re such a good pilot man. Absolute masterclass on how to fly a plane every time I watch you.
Never been that far north IRL. It truly is beautiful.
I havent checked in on the channel lately. I love the HUD you got here to accompany the video now.
Very enjoyable, thanks Max & take care . Cheers 🍻
Never boring. I have a recliner that I can relax and watch your videos. Thanks for the ride. 😊
Thank you for watching! Appreciate it
All of the thank you, appreciate it, and see yas clogging up the busy freq
Sitting in a chair in the middle of the sky viewing hundreds of square miles of beautiful mountains. Awesome.
Watching you fly is so impressive. I tried to obtain flight training years ago, but I soon found out that I lacked the intelligence to satisfactorily complete training. Best of luck to you, sir!
24:07 love the litle "yuhhhh" and your "whoooo" reply
0:26 "Sorry I've got a plane coming, I love your channel" he sounds like such a kind marshaller! 🥰🥰
I live in the Bay Area and work near SFO, and I’m always amazed by how fast the private jets take off. They haul so much ass compared to the airliners.
Got to see my old neighborhood and high school I went to on that approach. We had planes flying overhead constantly. Still was cool to see it from cockpit.
Taxing past those 747s must be unreal. Excellent work sir
Cool! never see how you guys fly . ❤ Love the Camara view
Thanks for sharing 🙏
Great video, thank you for taking us with you beautiful landing.
Awesome informatics, I purchased tee!🛩️
Another beautiful flight Max! 'Do not stop' safe flying be well! C-ya!!
Thanks very much for watching!
Love watching your videos. I haven’t flown anywhere since 1994 (gasps) but I find watching to be very relaxing. 👍👍
Look at you Mr. Dapper? Looks like a fresh haircut? Dressed up to go flying today! Thanks for the flight, Max!
Great to see the beautiful scenery! Safe travels

Max Thank you !!! awesome video and nice to see LAX ... great landing and handling !!... appreciated for your effort to show us... Great Job... All the Best !!!
Excellent views during the climb out of KJAC! Great flying Max! Looks like LAX needs to do some rubber removal maintenance on 25L 🤷🏽♂. C-yaaa!
Thanks very much Adam!
That is a very, very busy job there. Well done, basically textbook.
Also reading back taxi instructions just as fast as they were given, real pro level stuff, always a sight to behold.
Another great flight . . . Thank you!
This was a really cool video. Super clear and polite on all his checks and calls. Extremely informative on what he's doing and going through all safety measures and emergency plans. This is def a channel I'll come back to. Especially for my secondary screen while doing tasks.
Lived in LA since the 50's. Use to watch the new 747s pull up to the gates at LAX when i was a young teen. No restictions! I couldn't believe how massive they where. I left LA in 2015. Inspirational video for me considering I've been planing a trip to Jackson Hole. Your a intelligence, polite and ambitious young man. You remind me of me 45 years ago. I've never subscribed to a utuber, your the first one.
Nice shot of Sofi and Kia Forum
Very professional in all respects excellent!!!!
I intended to just spend a few hours at Grand Tetons during my drive back to Texas from Washington. I'll just pass by them and have a nice look. I spent three days, couldn't tear myself away from such beauty! As a pilot, I spent an hour or two standing right next to the airport in this video, taking video of planes arriving & departing what has to be one of the most incredible airport environments in the U.S. I called two flight schools, wanting to rent a plane and a CFI to go flying around these strikingly beautiful mountains, but both schools had packed schedules, with no availability of aircraft or instructors for 2 weeks. This _has to be_ the most magnificent approach to any airport in the U.S. Great video!
As a hobby, I listen to KLAx North Tower approach on a radio staion listed on the RadioGarden app (112 stations listed in LA) following along with this Visual flight was complementary with the usual radio traffic I hear was absolutely wonderful!!!🎉😊🎉😊🎉
