    As usual when I see your videos, I'm just blown away with how much the American farmer does each day. He or she must be an electrician, plumber, carpenter, heavy and light equipment mechanic, veterinary technician, "bovine dietician" if I can call it that, lol, computer savvy and of course be a good business accountant. No wonder your workdays go well beyond sunup to sundown! Your videos are a great PR hit for the general public that thinks milk comes out of a jug. Thanks for your great videos!!

    Such a nice simple job you have. Plumber, electrician, carpenter, roofer, welder, equipment operator, vehicle maintenance, animal nutritionist, veterinarian, accountant, videographer, editor, UAV operator, agronomist, ag chem applicator, what else am I leaving out here? Oh, yeah, TH-cam rock star! Keep up the good work!

    I used to feed on a 600 cow dairy. They fed ionic salts also. I think they had one milk fever case in 9 months. It really helps the older cows. More than anything

    Hi Eric, I liked your explanation of the reason you all choose not to use feed troughs, it certainly is a good one. You guys do a really good job at caring for your cows, feeding the blended grain and mineral for better calving is just one of several great points. There is just so much you all do there, I have to tip my hat to your stick with it positive attitude. Thanks for the video, I liked it, have a great week.

    I am glad that you were able to get the kinks worked out of the robotic alley scrapers. The barns really look comfortable, and the cows clean as usual. It was sure fun to see Dutches trying to help your dad with the electrical repairs. You know she just wants to be involved with everything. So you might want to consider giving her a little more air time in your videos. Just a thought. Thanks for all of your hard work 😊 and have a blessed week!

    Really enjoyed a great video. It good to see what y'all put into your feed for the cows. How y'all take care of them and how you explain things from why y'all do things a certion way to why y'all add certion things to the feed. Love watching duchess run around making sure y'all doing it right. Y'all stay safe and be careful. God bless y'all.

    Great video Eric! After seeing you working on the silo unloader and the feed pusher - I was thinking the new feed mixer has been a steady piece of equipment for heavy, daily use. You do a good job of maintaining your equipment and much of it is running well. Don't know that I can recall a big problem with your milking system either.

    I've mentioned a few times over the years that you should do weekly inspection of the feed machine that pushes the feed back to the cows. If you did PM maintenance weekly, cleaning adjusting, oiling, fixing stuff it would look great and work great. Fix the issues before they become break downs. Like I mentioned before too, that kind of attention to detail come from me being in the US Marines for 13 years and in another military branch for 12 years, plus 14 years civil service with the US Military

    Know that feels when its dreary weather rainy can’t get in fields nothing really to do except fixes things around the farm mix feed sort cattle the ones that our do to have calf’s, clean calf pen’s . Give shots or trim hoofs and milk cows. Something different and explain how the minerals help cows with calf’s that was interesting to watch Eric good video.

    A dairy farmer friend of mine (one of only 10 in Bucks county these days) explained the idea of TMR feeding. His set up is in a tie stall barn with most of the feeding done as they are milking. I have always been curious about how long it takes to completely mix what you do.

    You were talking a bit about the variations in feed mixes for the cattle at different stages of production. Do the cattle that are actually lactating and being milked eat more to provide the energy to produce milk then the dry cows or is their intake about the same? Also thanks for the effort you put into your videos. I really enjoy watching and learning. You do a great job.

    Eric, I so enjoy the videos. I have such enormous respect for farmers who feed the population. Given these inflationary times, would you care to address the financial issues that farmers are facing at the present times and how inflationary costs of doing business affects the cost of milk and other dairy products? You might talk about the cost of fuel and other costs farmers face on a daily basis.

    🇨🇦 we were wondering how you have your 1/2 barrel ( we think they’re mineral feeders ?) @13:21 attached? We used the bottom 1/2 of a 5 gallon pail, drilled two holes and fastened a chain through and the heifers still manage to push them away and eventually break the pail.

    Have you looked into a machine called Sherpa it's similar to the machine you use to feed your cows. You won't need a tractor to pull it and you don't need skid steer to shave corn stored in your bunks as it will do it for you and put it into it's mixer.

    Have y’all thought of putting a scale in the skid loader for loading the grain and such? Seems like it may be more efficient, just not sure if it’s possible and what the cost would be.

    • @dmc3742
      @dmc3742 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thats not a practical way of doing it and would offer no advantage. Besides they would still need the scales on the mix/feeder wagon to proportion out the feed to the various groups.
