@@akl192 And what power was Indurain (17th on GC in '89) putting out in '89? Huge improvement there. Further evidence can be gleaned in the massive improvement in Indurain's power and climbing from '91 onwards. Compare his Lac de Vassiviere and Alpe d'Huez times from '90, 91 and 95. Mottet was well known in the peloton for not doping, as told by Willy Voet in his book post Festina. Enjoy the racing, celebrate whomever you wish but admit the reality here. There'll never be any confession, no pursuit of Indurain and all those behind the scenes from these days, so be happy this is all academic.
@@EMC2Scotia Isn’t your Cyclingnews forum friend drunken sailor guy also argue the same point as me yet you have zero disagreement? Another Lemond fanatics. Lemond is clean enough and a legend but by no means is he’s Merckx. EPO or not, the 91 and 92 tour parcour suits Indurain perfectly and strong teammates like Bernard, Delgado. Mottet is a gentleman and should win the 90 Giro but Indurain got the better hands, doping or not. Indurain won L’Avenir, Catalunya and Paris Nice pre EPO, those tours do indicate GC potential. He was the first EPO champ but also predict across Europe at the time to dominate post Lemond and Fignon. Many Cyclingnews forum long time members would agree to this
@@EMC2Scotia Is Mejia and Marie’s times on tour 95 Lac TT means EPO cuz they’re faster than Hinault and Greg? Both guys are supposedly clean. Of course 95 was peak of EPO era but after that Casatelli’s death everyone soft pedals for nearly a week before final Lac TT in 95. More rest means faster times. With good position and ability to generate optimal power on aerobar it’s possible to go within an hour around Lac TT for the top GC guys. Anything faster than 59 minutes is high octane doping
Chiappucci worked so hard that year...he was at the front of almost every race from March through September...kudos Claudio on your amazing transformation from water carrier to Eddy Merkcx style champion!
Thank you.
Doped to the gills indurain still only just beats lemond.
Wonder what went wrong for Stephen Roche. Bad transfusion perhaps
@7:30 and 16:55, two brief glimpses of the real winner of this TDF, Charly Mottet.
EMC2Scotia why?
No evidence Banesto used EPO in 1991. Power output of the mountain stages of Indurain in 1991 was similar to LeMond in 1989

Suspicious ride by Chiapucci.

Yes, kudos for deciding to save your career by cheating.
Not very tired Greg :)
the great indurain five tours won on dope !!!
