I for one would really, really, really like to see how you made all those matrix mold elements in Zbrush! From the core, the silicone layer, to the jacket. Nice work!
There is no moldmaking tutorial for zbrush anywhere, on youtube, or anyplace else. So please do make one! (Or maybe outline your process here, if timne does not permit)
Hey, has there been any update on this? I'd love to see how the castings turned out and how you were able to model these so nicely in zbrush! I'm making a suit of armor myself and was wondering if a method like this would be worthwhile.
Great video! Curious: are you using silicone for the boot substrate, or only the mold? I saw you had used a flexible urethane previously. If using silicone for the boot, how do you plan on painting the silicone to a chrome finish?
Thank you for replying me. I want to make a sock shoes where the base and the side (approx 20/30mm height) is covered with silicon. So I’m wondering i can design something similar to urs but the sole will wear the sock when i pour the silicone mixture. Thanks !!
(I am TheHappyOne) I did add the scan of the other foot, later on, maybe you can still use that to check your won mirrored and adjusted foot ? I could send the unadjusted scan, it has more of the ankle on it. A great design for the foot mold. To cut the back of the foot, is that just for getting the inside plug out, ar also more easy to put the shoe on ? you could break the plug into more parts ( length wise) to get all the separate parts put, without cutting the back ?
i like the design of your mold, it gives me some ideas to try for my own projects, but star wars is soooo overrated and played out.... with this much effort put into copying something, i can only imagine how cool some of your own original projects would turn out, and hope to see some vids of them!
