Hey Abby, could you do a version of this video but with veggies? I know that spring rolls could be veggie based, but I’m totally getting tired of raw peppers/celery/carrots with hummus 😅

Wasa crackers with mustard/Mayo, sliced cheese, lunchmeat and pickles. Basically a smaller open faced sandwich but with the crackers it’s not as filling/heavy as some sandwiches

Veggie sushi, inari, guacamole+pico del gallo+chips add refried beans for protein, bean chili and cheese (vegan cheese if vegan) with chips, pico del gallo with beans and corn mixed in with chips, baba ganoush with some kind of vegetable and pita, carrots and celery with peanut butter, cucumber salad, or vegetables marinaded in olive oil, balsamic, sugar, garlic, onions, salt and pepper. Those are a few of my favorites.

ive never heard anyone say the phrase "healthy carbs" before (around 18:30) and that is LIFE changing for me! every time I eat a meal I lowkey judge myself if it's high carb, even when it's healthy food. thank you, this helped me so much!!

YESSSS TO SNACKING!!!! In my recovery plan, I need two snacks in addition to my 3 meals! I like pairing a carb + protein or a carb + fat or a combination of carb+fat+protein for my snacks!!! It really helps me stay satisfied!

My brother doesn’t like veggies but when I cut up a cantaloupe for him he’ll eat the whole bowl. Thank you for this video on snacking! I have such a hard time with snacks and being ok with it as a small meal rather than just a serving of one thing. I've been trying to have more snacks everyday and realized when I eat snacks I don't go to the pantry to grab a handful of something I forget I even ate. If I don't snack, it seems that I unconsciously find a way to get the calories I'm avoiding either way, so might as well make something that is more balanced and satiating rather than just a piece of fruit that leads to mindlessly grabbing chips later - not that there's anything wrong with chips - just the mindless action and missing out

How do you gauge satisfaction with snacks? What number on the hunger scale should we be shooting for with snacks?
I've been working through the steps of intuitive eating this year and I still have a hard time with snacks. I haven't found an answer in the book by Resch and Tribole. With a meal, I'm trying to eat until I'm comfortably full and satisfied. Is it the same with snacks? When I snack until I'm full I often feel like I'm overeating and then am not hungry for the next meal for a few hours.
Thanks for your videos! I love the ideas in this one and your side comments! You've definitely been an inspiration for me on my intuitive eating journey!

I don't know if you've ever done a video on snacking before but I've got some questions if you don't mind:
    - afaik snacking only became common in the 20th century, why was this?
    - does the need to snack mean your regular meals are just not caloric and satiating enough? (Outside of the context of people who need to gain weight, are malnourished or have blood sugar issues they need to stabilise by eating more often or any other medical reason why they have to eat more than 3 times a day)
    - is there any benefit to snacking in people who don't need to gain weight, are not malnourished, don't have blood sugar issues they need to stabilise by eating more often, don't have a medical reason to eat more than 3 times a day, and whose regular meals are satiating enough to carry them over until the next meal?
    - it's normal and not unhealthy, right, to feel hunger 30 to 60 minutes before the next meal time? It's not uncommon for me to be hungry 1,5-2 hours before I eat when I am distracted by other activities.
    - From some sources online I get the impression that they have this mindset that any hunger has to be killed/eliminated.
How healthy is it to just never feel hungry between meals? What would be the benefit of eating in a way that prevents hunger so you're never hungry?

I started a trial with this week. There are some things I do like, but I did find some conflicting issues. First, I was also shocked about the fact that I needed to weigh in EVERY DAY just after they explained that my weight would naturally fluctuate. Second, there was no way to monitor measurements, a huge factor in measuring fat loss. I believe they have changed their language around “red” foods. I understood that red foods are not demonized or bad in any way, but should be monitored and limited to smaller portions. So for nuts-a great food to eat-shouldn’t take up a large portion of my meal. I wasn’t led to believe that I should avoid nuts. My biggest problem is the daily weigh ins as i can’t proceed with my “quizes” without having first weighing myself. I found this to trigger my anxiety around fluctuations in my weight. It is actually a deal breaker for me and I won’t be extending my trial period with Noom.

i usually eat dinner and "snack" the rest of the day with whatever I crave at that moment (healthy ofc - well except that at breakfast I will sometimes have a pastry with cheese and meat of some sort, or pancakes, or a waffle etc)

Can’t wait to try the nice cream with cottage cheese.I love mango banana nice cream but because of the lack of protein and fat, I can get hungry quickly after, so I’m glad I’ve found this. 😊

such a fun change of pace from the usually serious professional dietician abbey we see!!! (i love both sides of abbey 😉). also i love your banana pops!! i eat like 2 a day as my after-school snack. i've actually realized that adding chocolate keeps me fuller for so much longer!
also - would love to see pre-workout snacks! i always have trouble figuring out what to eat before my run that won't make me feel like vommitting haha
