My dad went to Central High School with him in Bridgeport. He said that he was really quiet but did karate so kids didn't fuck with him. He bumped into him a few years later in their 20s at a gym and said he was a really nice guy, more open than he was in high school.

If you disagree with that your a naive. That being said, there are plenty of wimps out there with millions of dollars. Because of money and that alone, they have power and women. Now with any other animal, it is contradictory to be considered wimpy and an alpha. Hollywood completely ignored Pam Grier who was the first real hard core female action hero in American Cinema. Equalizers,Magnificent 7, 2 guns, Book of Eli, Out of time, Man on fire... I'm sure the list is much longer but that's off the top my head. This man is incredible. I became an instant fan while watching Blood & Bone, but never knew much about him. It's so nice to see a long form interview where you get to hear about their up bringing & get a sense of their personality.
He doesn't bullshit & he may say people may not want to hear this, but he'll say whatever he thinks about it. It's so refreshing to see a celebrity who is down to earth & will speak his mind.

He showed real emotion when he talked about how his father gave him a gun when he was 14, his eyes, he almost cried, that hit me deep and even since that subject he had that sadness in his eyes, the way he loved was crazy and it really had an effect on him, but he survived and persevered and, he's more an inspiration than I thought

His answer about Terry Crews was exactly what I thought. Terry just puts off WAY more friendly energy and talks about his origins with weight lifting. Mike is more mysterious and you don't know what you may ger back.

Hes one of my top 3 favorite martial artists but of the 3 hes my favorite over all people. Hes an amazing example of the human spirit and exactly how every man should be in general. His type of masculinity is the type that nurtures but at the same time doesnt put up with any kind of bullshit. Hes one of my absolute favorite people ever and I'd be honored if I ever got the chance to meet him.

I agree with everything he says, I was born in LES Manhattan , grew up in Lanc city, Pa. Lanc city is full of ppl who are from Jersey, NYC, philly, Connecticut, everywhere. I grew up in a single parent home just my moms and bro, growing up in the hood and in the struggle does give you PTSD like a mutha fucka. I'm 32 engaged, have my own house in our name and still have that hood in me

My dad went to Central High School with him in Bridgeport. He said that he was really quiet but did karate so kids didn't fuck with him. He bumped into him a few years later in their 20s at a gym and said he was a really nice guy, more open than he was in high school.
