My wife and I were fortunate to see Sammy LIVE here in Pennsylvania in a Theater in the Round in the early 1980's. He was SENSATIONAL!!! His talents were incredible...........a one of a kind musician, vocalist, stylist, drummer, tap dancer, comedian, vocal impersonator. He did at least FIVE ENCORES!!! We were in the presence of royalty!
This was the 28.06.1985 . The day when i started to work as Croupier (Dealer) after beeing instructed for this profession by the company of Casino Hohensyburg. After his Performance Sammy Davis Jr. danced on one of the many Roulette Tables after the Grand Opening of this very fine Establishment. Unforgettable as Sammy Davis Jr. himself. I was inspired by this golden piece of Entertainment for my profession as a Casino Employee until today.
Could it be he dreams in music - he's such a bundle of talented energy and superb exuberance. I've been following him and his wonderful gift for at least 50 years and have never been disappointed..Singing, dancing, acting and impersonations, etc. Thank you Lord for giving us this man - hope to meet him some day in Heaven.

What an absolutely incredible performer. A virtuoso in his ability to sing and entertain, as Frank said it, "He was one of the finest human beings I ever met in my life." I wish I was alive when he and all incredible performers of his time were alive so I could see them live.
What’s amazing is how casual and impromptu this sounds, yet everything from each finger snap to tap of his feet to vocalisation will have been coordinated with Swiss watch precision. Simply perfect.

Bojangles got better and better the older he got...although Ioved the dancing he could do when he was young the meaning and singing 🎤 got "deeper ". Wish I had seen him live.
I miss Sammy or as May Britt referred to him, "Sharley Brown". This appearance in Germany may be one of his best, and the recoding is also more clear than others on TH-cam. The orchestration is so much a part of his fantastic performances as well. I first Sammy live at the Sands in1968 with front row seats. I was with my parents and I had just turned 21 years old. He was age inspiring in every way. He gave his heart and soul in every song he performed. I got to see him with Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin at the St Paul Arena a few years later when I was in college. Again, it was another stellar performance amongst all three of them. I just finished reading 4 biographies, including 'YES I can.' His daughter, Tracey, also gave a more rounded rendition of what his family life was. I had so many of his albums and now I listen & watch him on TH-cam every few days. He will always have my heart.
Wow!! Sammy Davis was a one of a kind entertainer. His talent was so huge. I don't think there will ever be a performer that will ever top this performance. God gave him so much to share with the world and boy did he give all of himself to the audience. He looked so much in his element on stage and made his repertoire of music his own. I sure wish the music business today had even an inkling of the talent of past musical geniuses such as this. Why did we allow ourselves to be duped into thinking that today's music is acceptable? Young people, demand more and don't settle for less than quality, craftsmanship, and true knowledge of your craft. Don't cut corners or use synthetic music to impersonate the sounds of instruments. Take it seriously and do intense study, so you can tell the difference between crap and a concerto. Someone who has true ability doesn't need to have hip hop dancers in the background, lot's of special effects to overshadow themselves, or banal lyrics that don't even pass as musical composition. I have studies music and grew up taking organ lessons and choir, so I can distinguish between a masterpiece or a dud. Thank you for posting this broadcast of Sammy Davis in Germany. A+++ !!

Having just finished watching a clip of an Australian concert by Sammy, which was great, here in Germany, the orchestra seems a little better, the sound is better, and Sammy seems to have a little more spry in his step and vocals.
