Just because some one is making 10k+ a month does not make this or them false… There are a bunch of creators making 192k as a solo coloring book publisher no ads only tiktok. Is it likely? No Does every business work for anyone? Also no
Not to mention his ad spend is very small, he spent 10k made revenue of 46k. If he scales it up, has better and more books i am sure id he spends 4k~ a month on ads he will reach 10k easily.
The most transparent kdp publisher out there! I started on kdp in 2020, and never got more than 40 orders a month, until I found your channel. Last month i had 84 orders, and January is looking better than December so far. Your ads strategy was the most useful thing I learned about kdp from all YT channels out there. Looking forward to book a consultation once I reach 500 usd a month.
Thanks for the transparency. Hope you do well I'm gonna start mine this year. I'll be mainly targeting public domain books -- memoirs, biographies, philosophy, classics -- and my own 4 fiction.
Hey congratulations, amazing results. Mine was pretty similar - nothing like last year for me, not sure what happened exactly. Will have to get back to creating more books! All the best for 2025. :)
Thanks! Yes, I noticed that the Coco Wyo type books are flooding the marketplace at the moment with large as spend, that could be impacting sales a bit?
@@selfpublishingempire I really am not sure because my top sellers aren't coloring books. I think there are multiple factors at play. I speculate about a few reasons in my income report - I've not published yet but will do tomorrow. Have a good week! :)
As someone who is new to the whole self publishing idea/grind, I heard someone say bundling books was a good way to get extra sales/revenue. Just thought it might be worth looking into for you if you have some of your medium-content books that are similar in topic/skill level. Good luck on 2025!
Very helpful video as always. Thank you and also looking forward to your 2nd channel. What is the easiest way to determine how many sales are organic vs. the number sales that come via AMZ Ads? Thanks again and continued success!
Thank you; this video encouraged me a lot. I decided to skip the KDP because they blocked every book within five minutes. Please make a video on how to get rid of the blockage of books.
Unfortunately the best way to remove book blocks is to not get your books blocked in the first place. Make sure you're not violating copyright, trademark, terms of service, or producing something low quality.
Thanks for this. Interesting. The thing is, I've produced several books (about 20), but have had no sales - except for another author's book. All those expenses don't include your admin time and time putting the books together. So work out how much of an hourly rate you want and take that from your profits too. Also, I think it does depend on the advertising methods - which I cannot afford (certainly not £10k!) and I have spent quite a lot on it, but to no avail. I've tried Amazon Ads, all the ways you can do that, and they don't work for me. I must be doing it wrong. I tried to set up an amazon ad last week, but couldn't get through the bloomin' system.
Watch through my Amazon ads playlist for some guidance, including the launch strategy. Truth is you won't make sales on amazon if you don't market your book somehow. Tiktok/TH-cam/mailing list/advertising. You need to do something.
Low CPC depends on the areas. So adult coloring books in popular noches would have high CPC, but maybe wordsearch books for young kids would be cheaper. So it's about finding those. And if something is a high CPC try to find good longer tail search terms as they tend to be cheaper.
enjoyed the watch I am doing faceless stuff selling courses pdfs but starting my kdp I have a good idea I wanna start yet its more a paragraph book can I create using book bolt?
If you wanted to but I'd probably use something a bit more traditional and focused towards writing like Word (and then Kindle Create) to be honest, unless it has a lot of illustrations. Adobe InDesign is my go to for something like this personally.
I nice piece of advice I got recently was using AI to generate your key words. Tell it you want optimized key words for organic sales, your character limit, and the book’s content or target audience or both.
If you do that make sure you're manually reviewing, as there could easily be keywords included that go against terms of service or trademarked terms :)
@ of course I would review! I should probably read the section in the terms on keywords and trademarked terms. I didn’t know you couldn’t include those in the keywords.
Still catching up on your excellent and inspiring videos, it's definitely something I want to try this year. I retired five years ago, I was a language teacher for most of my working life...(I'm British and have lived in Cumbria for 40years). I was watching your videos on ads....silly questions coming up....how does Amazon take the money for the 'bids' ? Do they require the details of your bank account?
Congratulations on retirement and good luck with getting going! Yes, you have to enter bank info and you'll get billed at the end of each month (unless you go over the monthly threshold which is several hundred (perhaps 500), and then you'll be billed multiple times in the month).
Based on your target of 50 books this year, you are targeting one book per week, how do you manage that, launching every book with ads, getting book covers prepared, A+ content and interior. What part do you outsource nad what amount do you spend on each? What would you suggest to someone who have full time job.
Yeah I do this full time now so I can just about manage that. Some easier to produce books might only take like 2 days, whereas some harder ones will take 2+weeks. I'd aim for 1-2 per month on a full time job, depending on how much time you have available on the side :). Key is templating what you can! Oh, and I do everything myself.
I will go on record to state that when you record 26k units sold you will record at least $48k profit however, I predict you will likely achieve at least 32k units sold and at least $60k profit in your 3rd full year. Cheers!!
After my ads and expenses are taken away yes probably on average about 1.50 per sale... Before ads I make a bit over $2 in royalties on average per book per sale.

@selfpublishingempire are they free to use
@selfpublishingempire more so book with image on pages and little paragraphs etc
Canva probably easiest for that online, bookbolt would probably be fine too. Canva free.

Is the $30k profit, before or after taxes? Thank you so much for being so open and honest. I booked a consultation for tomorrow.

Thanks James looking forward to talking with you. Yeah that's before taxes! And 60k profit next year would be brilliant!
Sitting down and writing one book is hard enough. How do you manage to write 50?
They're medium content books mostly, so things like coloring books and puzzle books!
I'm sorry what is a Q4? Great to see these videos btw
Thank you! The fourth quarter of the year ie oct-dec
looks like you only make $1.50 a book ? is that correct ?
