    Jealousy itself is a negative word. Instead, guide our children to be inspired and motivated by other's success. At the same time, teach them to stay humble with their success and not doing things that may trigger others' jealousy.
    Stop being jealous; be inspired and stay humble!
    Happy New Year to all!

    • @makemusicwithmian1668
      @makemusicwithmian1668 3 ปีที่แล้ว +31

      I can understand where you were coming from with the negative meaning of the word is already widely interpreted by society. We can always choose to see the world, not just for its definition alone, but also the agree that envy and/or jealousy. A word can also be interpreted differently in; positive way. The feeling that attaches to it can be unpleasant. But if you listen carefully to how she dealt with that uneasy feeling by shifting her perspective, you will realize that feeling isn't always that bad.
      I also agreed with Linh about how she had a different thought about jealousy itself.
      In her speech, she's offering a new perspective if you followed through with her story to the end. She meant to say that there is nothing wrong with how we feel, but rather how we choose to see them feeling because sooner or later, we will have to decide how to act out of such feeling in which way pays us fewer expenses in the future.
      I think we are all thriving to be better versions of ourselves. Therefore we are competitive by nature. Some choose to compete with others, while others compete with themselves. And feeling jealousy or envy of someone or something is inevitable.
      Those feelings by human nature are not easy to deal with when we negatively perceive them. They can be parts of our personalities that we don't want to accept that we do possess those traits as human beings.
      I can't argue that envy and/or jealousy: wanting what we wish to have for ourselves, that we yet to have; Those feelings by human nature are dominantly negative to experience. But what if those feelings are also parts of our personalities as human beings. Things that we often deny to accept that we all are, and we all have?
      By seeing jealousy and/or envy in another light: joyful jealousy is a way to view the feeling in alternative ways, being joyful jealousy, in the other word, seeing the goods in the bad in such feeling, it can be a motivation for any one of us to start acting out differently to be better, grow better. Self-improvement begins when we accept that we are both bad and good, and feeling jealousy of something or someone is OK. Only with full self-acceptance, the journey of self-improvement can get a set go.
      Just an opinion, peace! Happy new year!

    Same choice but different results, it doesnt mean envy or jealousy is somehow good. It’s not mindfulness thought, it’s just you are lucky not to translate your thought into action. Enjoy your mood now and hope you will not turn into action next timw.

    So do you feel happy with continuous comparing, competing, and 'joyful jealousy'? What value does it add to society? What are lessons bigger than yourself that you learn?...

      I guess joyful jealousy drives people forward so it helps the whole community to move forward?

    • @peacefullearning2912
      @peacefullearning2912 3 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      @@laladu6490 ’joyful jealousy’ or whatever is just a man-made concept. In reality, we already see lots of advanced development of our society so far, the 4th industrial revolution for example. But do you see the world nowadays is a mess? Covid-19, climate change, violence... It’s time to see the world from various perspectives, development should be balanced and in alignment with the flow of nature, otherwise, people can destroy themselves and the earth...
      On the other hand, if we don't see it as jealousy, but cooperation, we don't waste energy comparing and competing, and the benefits would be enormous... For example, if you compare which country fights against Covid-19 better, who wins? What’s the meaning of that victory?...
