Man, this is the thing I absolutely love about this show, there is sadness and tears, yes, but there's always beauty and hope beyond those tears and it's so wonderful. Love that the dad was able to get somewhat of a closure through Violet!

This is my all time favorite show, and this episode perfectly encapsulated what made me fall in love with it
Many episodes have misdirects, some more obvious than others. This episode has multiple shots focusing on Oscar’s hands, revealing his wedding ring, implying the girl Violet reminds him of is his wife. This usually goes unnoticed, so the reveal that Violet looks like his daughter who died is sad but rarely surprising. Viewers far more often falsely assume Olivia drowned, though that’s unintentional. In an unfortunate irony, he did also lose his wife, who most likely also looks like Violet.
You girls mentioned you'd like more shows with female protagonists in previous Violet reactions, there are two currently airing anime with female protagonists that are great: Frieren: Beyond Journey's End, and The Apothecary Diaries.

Amongst all reactors I've seen - the ones I would love to see react to this are these two amazing people. They are soooo good at analyzing and understanding characters and their development that I can only imagine what a good combination they would be for Re:zero. Hopefully they might start watching it as season 3 gets close.
It’s interesting how we assume Gilbert must be alive just because “if there’s no body then they’re not dead”, but that is the case for several characters. Luculia’s parents, Leon’s parents, and Irma’s boyfriend are all missing and presumed dead. This may be the case for Tiffany’s son and Anne’s father as well. That being said, we never question if these characters are actually alive somewhere in spite of that. If they were alive, surely they would have returned to their loved ones by now, but they haven’t. Just like Gilbert.
Violet's age is speculative even in the show. in the Light Novel she was described as being in her late teens which makes more sense considering how much older she looks compared to Charlotte in ep 5 who was also 14.
If there isn't already one, English really should have a word for "sad, but in a beautiful way", because every episode of this show seems to be like that now.

Because although they say, she’s 14, that’s just a guess as her entire past before she was found by Gilbert‘s brother is unknown. And since she’s an orphan, she was likely malnourished, which naturally stunts normal growth. So it’s entirely possible that when Gilberts brother first found her and guessed at her age, she looked much smaller than what she actually was. Anyways, like I said, that’s just my own personal head canon. But either way, I think you’re right that the entire purpose of showing all of these stories of love in different forms is that she’s trying to figure out what this type of love she felt for Gilbert was and that it almost doesn’t matter to define it a specific way.
Not to devalue your headcanon, but it seems some stuff could use clarifying. For starters, Gilbert guessed her age after getting to know her, Dietfried couldn’t care less. We don’t know how long Violet was alone there or why, but we know more than “nothing”. Violet hunted animals on that island, which is why she was so capable at killing humans, so she wasn’t particularly malnourished. Even if she was, most people in this era and locale were malnourished, so her size wouldn’t be outside the norm. In her four years with Gilbert she grows about 9 inches or 22cm taller, which lines up with natural growth at that age. If she was older and her growth had been stunted, she wouldn’t somehow make up for it now that she’s better fed, she’d just remain smaller. Up until at least episode 6, Violet hasn’t been thinking about her feelings for Gilbert - she hadn’t yet recognized that it was love at all, let alone what kind. She’s been focused on what he meant by “I love you”, because in her mind that was part of his last order that she didn’t understand. She thought that once she understood she could do something to fulfill that order, and then things would go back to how they were before. Again, not trying to shoot you down or anything, just providing more information that it seems often gets missed.
Nah, all SW(Except the new trilogy) in chronological(ig they heard the plot twist many times) order would take them so many weeks almost a year with Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones, Clone Wars movie, Clone Wars S1-7, Revenge of the Sith, Bad Batch, Solo, Rebels, Andor, Rogue One, Original Trilogy(i would end here, but they maybe would love to continue with Mandalorian 1 and then Ahsoka for just Ahsoka's character.).
