@mahuanhit I kind of understand if they need a second place to stay while working in London that it should be at the employers "tax payers" expense.
However having a big swanky house with the heating on full all the time is taking the micky.
Build a halls of residence for them to stay in while at London and make them spend the rest of the time in their constituency listening to and addressing the issues there.

Heating allowance should most definitely be removed from MPs, plus a whole lot more allowances which nobody else in work is entitled to! Most MPs today are amongst the wealthiest in the Country, whilst most pensioners and working families whose incomes are a few pounds above the limit to qualify for Pension Credit or Universal Credit are often among the poorest. Such is the justice in modern Britain!

Its called employee benefits and there are plenty of jobs that offer it up and down the country. Expenses are not something unique to MPs . Its the same principle as your employer reimbursing you for having to work away as part of your job. The reason these people have a second home is because their job requires it because they are required to work away from their constituencies so they buy a new home out of their own pocket, pay the mortgage on it out of their own pocket and are simply allowed to claim back expenses on their energy bills for only the second home because their job is the reason they have racked up a second set of energy bills. They are already paying energy bills on their family home and they cannot claim anything back on those. Why are GMB viewers so dense!

UK Pensioners received their ENTITLED increase (that was by the last Tory Government) , NOT a significant pay increase . Energy Bills increased by at least 75%,. Labour LIED about freezing energy bills 2024. Pensioners means tested life-term savings is to a mere £16,000 and their tax threshold is only £12,570. That's Keir Starmer's 'Assisted Death' to UK Pensioners bill already being implemented.

MP's over winter can just spend most of their time in their second home paid for them and have the heating on at will knowing it all paid for them and they get it free. They can avoid going to their main home. This is paid for them all year around too not a one off payment. It scandalous and they defend it without shame, total greed !!
They should be paying it out of their enormous salaries, doesn't matter which home out of the two they are in.
As usual one rule for MP's another rule for the plebs, minions, peasants etc as they see us, it'll never change !!

Let's all refuse to pay our heating bills and see what they do then , absolutely disgusting the way we are treated by this government , I am a 50's born woman and had to wait 6 extra yrs to receive my hard aged pension ,worked from the age of 17. I'm retired now , and now they are still taking money from me, lost my husband 2 yrs ago, so I am on my own , which makes it doubely worst for me .
Also, above the threshold to get my winter fuel allowance.
They think because we are going to be better off with the triple lock next April, thats a laugh . They will take it all away in tax , as we will be even more over the threshold. 😢
