    I've used this many times as a template for plant hangers, sometimes making it shorter or different colour, and it turns out beautiful each time!

    I ended up with half the cords really long and the other half short. I just made do, it turned out ok. It’s 91cm or 36 inches from top to the bottom of the tassel.

    • @shelleyshortclay530
      @shelleyshortclay530 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you use the longer cords for the square knots that you make that creates your pocket for your planter it will help with them not being as long.

    Do I need to switch the outer cords for the inner cords at some point? I finished the second set of half square knots and I have two super short (2 inch) cords and two super long cords so I'm unable to continue from there 🤔

    • @sophiehughes744
      @sophiehughes744 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Yes after a section of knots before another gap you move the outer cords to the middle then put the inner cords to the out. Make sure you do this every time 😁

      Honestly it doesn't make a huge difference. I've made this maybe 3 times and used different thickness each time but it still turned out super cute!

    • @staylor1244
      @staylor1244 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well it would make a difference. If the tutorial uses 3mm cord to be cut 13+’ each. If you use 5mm cord, you will run out of cord so make sure you cut extra cord. How much extra? I don’t know, I just go a couple of feet extra.

    • @CarvedCulture
      @CarvedCulture  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The thickness of the macrame cord won’t make much difference - it is more about the desired look 😊

      when you pull it through your hook or loop you pull it through halfway each strand so they fold in half, giving you 16.

      She didn’t mention that part, Sonya. Don’t feel bad, the student isn’t lacking, the teacher is the issue.

      I’m in the same boat after tying the 8 strands off at the top and then she says ‘now you have 16 strands’ - would of been nice to know we have to pull them through halfway before moving to trying them together at the top!
