    Loved all the craps videos from Mr Michael. I never played craps before but I ended up watching 1 through 4 parts last year and that changed my fate once and for all at Vegas casino tables. I must say, extremely informative content you have got Mr Michael. Great job. I played your strategy don't pass line bets and made decent winning last year.
    Thanks for putting up these videos online. Wish I can personally meet you and thank you for making such vidoes for public. Much appreciated.

    Mike, thank you for telling Angela you wouldn't argue for either pass or don't pass. The house advantage is not that much different. It's what you enjoy doing! Most dark side betters think they have an advantage over the house! And we know that's not true. Personally, I won't play on a table with don't betters. They generally bring the fun and enjoyment down. One more thing, all the don't betters that think they have such an advantage are like all of these other videos on TH-cam that have some kind of get rich scheme! It's just not true. You have to make the best bets and hope to get lucky! Thank you for all your videos.

      Thanks for the kind words! My truthful opinion is the tiny increase in house edge on the pass side is worth the price for the additional fun factor. The lower house edge on the don't side is a legitimate reason for playing that way, but I think many play that way out of a sense of schadenfreude -- pleasure in watching the rest of the table losing.

      I think Mike provides an extremely accurate explanation of each game, I've seen others that leave out details or miss certain nuances. His advice is always grounded in the mathematics of each gamble and I think it is good to minimize risk in my entertainment. I know that isn't how everyone wants to gamble but it is certainly a big draw for me.

      Michael Shackleford ... I wish to make a request when you make your next craps tutorial video. You have Never covered this topic. I would like for you to explain in great detail (crayon) betting both ways at the same time with the Pass line and the Don’t Pass line. What is the house edge percentage? How is that calculated? Is it better to bet this way to have the shooter establish a point, and then After the point is established, either take or lay odds with or against the point depending on what the number is rolled? The Pass line is now nullified by the Don’t Pass line, and the 12 has no bearing on it either-after the point is established. Does this let the player have true free odds at risk/in action with everything else becoming a push/tie? What do you think? Have you seen this before? Is this a good way for the lowest risk?

  • @JackOfTrades12
    @JackOfTrades12 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I'd like to add that you only lose if a 4/5/6/8/9/10 is rolled again. Which means you would lose incrementally instead. So if a 7 hits, you would win all at once from the DP/DC, vs losing all at once from the Pass/Come.

    Not sure if I’m doing this correctly, so please correct me if I’m wrong.
    I want to protect a future $35 Don’t Come bet on a 3x, 4x, 5x odds table by bridging/heeling the odds against any point.
    I’m not sure what both flat bets should be. Please confirm
    I think I need $12 on the Don’t Pass, and at the same time, bet $12 on the Pass line too.
    The shooter rolls
    I know I’m making a $35 Don’t Come bet now.
    To protect the Don’t Come,
    I know I need, either ...
    $42 odds against the point of 6 or 8.
    Or I need $54 odds against the point of 5 or 9.
    Or I need $70 odds against the point of 4 or 10.
    Again I’m not sure how to calculate the beginning pass and don’t pass to make sure I can lay/bridge/heel on the don’t pass line to protect the $35 Don’t Come bet.
    You said in one of your videos the flat don’t pass can be multiplied by 6 to find out what the maximum odds pays.
    Or something like that.
    Again I am working backwards to try to find the correct answer.
    Since I know I need $70 odds against the point of 4 which will pay $35.
    My thoughts on how to get the right answer was to take 70 and divided it by 6 which equals 11.666
    so I round up to $12 for the flat don’t pass line.
    And since I need it to be a tie,
    I put $12 on the pass line to hedge it.
    Did I calculate this correctly?

  • @ericboyles7208
    @ericboyles7208 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Also, isn't there a clause while playing don't pass, that you can remove your chips from the don't pass line and dont come any time after the come out roll? I don't know why a person would want to remove it tho. But, am I correct in this observation?

    • @SkillandLuckCRAPS
      @SkillandLuckCRAPS 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes you are correct. The player can take down any don’t pass line, don’t pass with odds, or just odds on any don’t pass. Also this applies to Any No Numbers that have traveled from the Don’t Come. This are not contract bets. The pass line is a contract bet and must be resolved.
      The advantage is always in the player’s favor for the dark side AFTER the point is established. The casino loves when players take down their dark side money.

    • @dylandew1172
      @dylandew1172 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Michael is showing how he is taking max odds, however he forgot to cover that the player doesn’t have to always bet max odds. As long as the player knows the correct pay out of the number, then the player can bet bet an amount from single odds, up to, max odds. The player’s bankroll should determine how much odds they should risk. Example at a $5 table, if a player bets $5 on the Don’t Pass line, & 6 becomes the point, then the player can bet in units bets of $6 to win $5, up to the table max, which is shown on the table. So risking $60 to win $50 is the same payout as risking $6 to win $5, $12 to win $10, $18 to win $21, ect. If the player has $100, it’s not wise to risk $60, when you get the same odds of action with $12, or $6. Over stretching the odds will kill the bankroll.

    Typically I always play as a wrong way bettor. I am a very superstitious player. I cannot tell you how many times I’ve been at a table and I’ve been playing the pass line and the dice take a turn and everyone playing the right way is loosing. I’ll get the dice and I’ll bet don’t and all the sudden I’ll roll a 7. I lost that one bet but the dice are hot again. Crazy as it sounds, I have put it to the test. I also cannot play if my husband is even close to me. He is my cooler. I’ll be playing and on a good streak and just a phone call will cause me to loose. I love this game and I’ll always play. I love the videos and I’ll always be that superstitious player. It’s how I roll. I know it’s crazy and it’s a silly way to play but I win so I go with it.

    When you're playing the "Dark side" that means you are gambling with the casino. Therefore the casino isn't going to let you play without getting their cut. This being said when you bet this way, you are able to take your bets back and off the table. Why? Again your chances of winning are better and the casino doesn't want you to have any advantage.

    Hi
    I got a few questions about the DC.
    On your previous video about darkside betting Angela hit the point of 8 and lost her don't pass bet then her DC moved to the 8. The dealers advised her she could lay odds on the DC8 on the come out roll.
    So my questions are;
    1) what happens if Angela rolls an 8 on the come out roll?
    She loses her 8 bet? Right?
    2) what happens if angela rolls a 7 on the come out roll?
    She wins all her DC bets? (including laid odds) Right?
    3) do all DC bets still work (including laid odds) on the come out roll?
    Thanks for the videos, both series of how to play craps are a fantastic resource to learn from.

    I hope someone can answer this. I'm a newbie at Craps. To me, if you make a Don't Pass bet and point is established, unless the point is 4 or 10, you want to remove your bet and wait for the point to be 4 or 10 because there are only 3 ways to roll a 4 or 10 (which you don't want to be thrown and they have the lowest odds of being thrown) and 6 ways to roll a 7 (which you DO want to be thrown and has the highest odds of being thrown). All other point numbers have a higher odds of being thrown than 4 or 10, making your Don't Pass bet riskier. Why not give yourself the absolute best odds of winning. And from what I understand, it's OK to remove your Don't Pass bet after point has been established. I am not compelled to make a bet on every single throw of the dice, so I don't mind sitting out a throw to improve my odds later.

    • @austinanderson747
      @austinanderson747 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      the payouts are different; you only get paid 1:2 laying odds on the 4 or 10 when you get paid 5:6 on a 6 or 8.

    • @ColorUp
      @ColorUp 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It's a bad idea to remove your Don't Pass bet. You have taken the biggest risk on the come out roll when you are at a big disadvantage. Once a don't pass point is established, the odds are now in your favor to win no matter what the number. That is why the casino allows you to remove your dont pass bet (you have the advantage) They don't allow you to remove a pass line bet because they have the advantage after the come out roll.

    • @dontswin
      @dontswin 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      NEVER EVER TAKE DOWN A DON'T BET AFTER it survived the initial 7 or 11 that would make it lose! If your fearful of losing it then just place the number to the amount it would win or nearly so to cover that don't wager. For ex: lets say you bet $15 DP and it became a eight. to protect it if you were scared shitless of the eight being made (which you shouldn't be by the way)(since you have an 8.0645% edge over a 50/50 probability anyways), you could just place it for $12 and keep it there til either you win $15 minus $12= plus 3 OR eight comes back and you lose $1, you get paid $14 for the $12 but lose $15 ($14-$15= minus 1 REMEMBER AFTER THIS you must tell the dealer to take the eight down for that to be the final result. This works for all the point numbers, but contrary to what Famous author John Patrick says as I say Hedging as it's called WILL NOT MAKE YOU MONEY.

Also can you make a pass line bet and then make a don't come bet. Say a make a pass line bet and a 9 is rolled, Am I able to make a don't come bet or does it have to be a come bet

    • @MrChadsimoneaux

      You only have to make a pass/don't pass bet if you are the shooter.
      Come/don't come bets basically the same as pass don't pass.
      If the come out roll is a 6 and the point is established, your pass/don't pass is tied to that number.
      Then if you wanted to, make your come/don't come bet. If the next roll is an 8, the dealers put your c/dc on 8. Then you want an 8 to come/don't come before the 7.

    The Don't can be a good bet but do NOT lay odds. Why lay $20 to win $10 ?? ( 4 & 10) you win 100% on your bet if you do NOT lay odds. Laying odds is just giving %% back to the casino. Learn how to HEDGE bet when playing on the Don't and D.C. bets. You are playing for money NOT %%%%. When the shooter rolls his point you will be very very happy you did not lay odds. HEDGE BET.

    You contradicted yourself at 14:14 You said the don't come and dont pass pay even money when the top right box said..."the don't come" bet looses when a 7 is rolled. So, which is it? Which one is correct? smh

    • @hubomba
      @hubomba 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, that's correct. The odds they laid on each number and their don't pass pay statistically fair. The don't come and don't pass bets, which are the flat bets ( their $10 bets they made before they laid odds on each number ) on the don't pass and don't come get paid even money? The bet placed in the Don't Come bar before establishing a number loses, much like the Come Bet wins on a 7 or 11 before it establishes a number, the bet in the Don't Come bar wins on a 2,3, 12 (push) and loses on that 7 or 11. Make sense?

    You guys kill me with these videos telling people you 'can' lay 5 times odds on your flat don't bet !LOL Do you have any idea how much capital you need to play this way? You need at least 10 times(more like 20 X) your 2 or 3 number set up to do this! So if your average bet was 10 + 60 with 2 different numbers you need at least $70 X 10 twice which would be $1400, for 3 numbers you need $2100! Ideally you need closer to 20 times which would be $4100. There is a good chance over the course of a few hrs. you will lose 3 don't bet set ups at least 3 times which is at least $210 x 3= $630. Too funny, best to lay less odds and capitalize on your flat amount since you are getting even money there. But I still believe in laying odds, never heavy on the 4 or 10.

      Yes,it's costs more to play on the DARK SIDE.

      You can lay odds up to 6 times your Don't flat bet.

    DONT LAY ODDS They have to pay you 100% when you bet on the Don't. If you LAY odds you give back that power. Why lay $20 to win $10 ( Point 4 or 10) STUPID The MORE you lay the less you win ---Really STUPID

    Wait WHAT more then 2 Don't come bets? This is probably one of the worst strategies I've ever seen. a repeat of say a nine 3 times with 5x odds and you're down $210. 2 DC's, lose 1 replace with another DC ONCE and THAT'S IT! You might be called the wizard of odds but this is HORRENDOUS! Have you even tried this strategy at real tables in Las Vegas for any extended period? I bet you haven't, you would get destroyed! You have too many targets with 3 DC's and a DP up there. You will probably always (75% of the time) lose at least one of them. You are giving people horrible advice on the Don't side of the table.

      I agree. Just 2 DC's maximum.
