I almost feel like I'm watching a Bob Ross video, very relaxing and informative. I just bought a '23 KLX 230 s and am waiting for delivery. Can't wait!!
Great video, very well made. I love my KLX 230 but since it’s my first bike I’m still a little insecure about working on it all on my own. This video was very helpful (and I love the double take mirrors, after seeing them on your bike I might order some for myself as well 😁)
Thanks for the comment! The KLX230 is a great bike as your first bike. Not a ton of videos out there yet, but they are one of the easiest bikes to work on. Enjoy the Bike!
I'm discovering tht the stock mirrors leave much to be desired. I have a broad upper body/shoulders and I can't see anything behind me in them. The new mirrors are on the bucket list for mods in the future. So far I've put on a PMR Tail Rack, Ricochet Skid Plate, Tusk D-Flex Pro Hand Guards and ordered the Fender Eliminator Kit.
Good video sir. I noticed your Seat Concepts seat. Did you make a video on installing that too? Mine is due to arrive soon. I like your way of explaining things, nice and clear.
@@OldManMotoAdventures No worries, I already got mine and installed it! But please keep making vids on the KLX230 as you do mods and maintenance. People like your calm way of explaining.
I wish all “how to” videos were as nicely done as this one. Looking forward to a report on how the fender eliminator holds up when exposed to dirt/rocks/water thrown up by the rear wheel.
Hi Jay! Thanks for the kind words. I'm interested to see how dirty my back gets without the whale tail....lol. I'll post back here after a sloppy ride.

Thanks so much for posting, I received my DRC hardware kit earlier this week and was able to install it last night! Your video had a clear breakdown of what to expect, and the rear end definitely looks much cleaner. I ended up adding some shrink tube and electrical tape to the wire/connections that are more "exposed" due to the fender removal and I was scared of water/dirt going directly into that underside area. Do you think that I would have to cover that area if I'm washing the bike?
Hey Jason, thanks for watching! I would hope you could hose off a dual-sport bike with a hose and not worry about where the water goes. I do think this mod would put it more at risk for water issues.
@@OldManMotoAdventures appreciate the response! yeah, I'm considering finding a way to make an extra panel cover for the underside so at least the wires aren't fully exposed. I saw some people chop up their existing fender but I'm doing my best to avoid doing that. I have yet to trek out into off road areas but looking forward to utilizing the most out of this dual sport!
I'm really liking them. I purchased them after watching one of your videos even though your are made of a different material. They really tighten down tight and don't move much and seem very durable. Hey, Thanks for watching! A few others have mentioned that the site I posted no longer offers this product. Some have found it on Ebay and other sites. Sorry I don't have more information.
Looks clean! Question though, do you ride in dirt/rain/mud? I tend to keep my fenders on for that reason, wondering if you’ve noticed any more mess without the fender
Thanks for the comment! Yes, I do ride in the mud and rain and yes I do tend to launch more in the air than usual. Most of my riding is done on dry dirt roads where dust is the major issue. Too many dry days here in California.
@@OldManMotoAdventures I’ll be coming from the Bay to the Sacramento area in a few months, so I’ll be riding similar roads as you soon on the same bike. Do you think it’d be difficult to make it from Sacramento to the Sierras on the KLX230?
