    Your video came in handy. I had a frozen e brake lever in the drum. I pulled it, put a torch on it, penetrant, grease, more heat and finally some graphite powder and it's nice and loose. Used a slide hammer to pull the drum, crazy tight.

    My 87 samurai emergency brake is stuck on. The handle moves freely but ineffectively. What to do?

      Probably siezed arm back by the drums, check that and free it up and reset your e-brake

    So my ebrake won’t release. It’s as if it has seized up, where would be best place to start looking for problem. Seized up cable or small arms on back of drum?

    • @FabbinAdventures
      @FabbinAdventures  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Could be both, my arms were siezed up, i sprayed a bunch of penetrant on them and worked it loose. Unhook your cable from the arms and see if you can pull the lever. That'll tell ya if the cable is siezed or not.

    Did you ever get the correct parking brake lever return spring?

    • @FabbinAdventures
      @FabbinAdventures  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nope i never did, just some springs from the local hardware store that seem to work.

    • @FabbinAdventures

      Only take one side apart at a time, so you can look at the other side and see where the springs and stuff are supposed to go. The actual rear brake tools help alot, even a cheap set....have fun, and try and keep the skin on your knuckles..lol

    Been so long since I had mine apart I had to watch this to see how the adjuster worked. Think mine isn't, pumping the brakes just pops the pistons out of the wheel cylinders.

      That's from an SJ410. That may even be what your truck is. They look the same but there will be a lot of differences. drum brake of the tcase is somewhat common for larger trucks. I wouldn't worry about it if I were you.
