After seeing one of your previous vlogs I got the Elf blush, it’s fab. Many, many years ago I remember a lecturer saying the goal of advertising is to take away the love a person has for themselves and sell it back to them for the price of the product, I’ve never forgotten that x

Just for the sake of it, I tend to wait for a sale to buy something. If it's sold out, it's a sign it wasn't meant to be. We don't have a Sephora sale in France (at least not in the same format as in the USA) so I don't have to think about all those recommendations 😅 At the end of the day, I think we should always revise or prioritize think about what we need, and look at our collection before making a decision. I know every time I take the time to consider things and check what I already have, what I used (and what I didn't open), I don't want that product anymore 😊

I have been “influenced” and spent too much on makeup products I do not need now or ever. I also do not care for the heavy glass bottle of mascara. I bought one and actually threw it out. I agree that some drugstore makeup products are comparable or better than high end. I just placed an order for the Elf blush, for example. Thank you so much!

Hi Lovely! I LOVE these types of videos! I was anticipating this month's sales but I have been decluttering my home and just going through all of the closets and drawers - and especially my makeup drawer and switching things out - I realize how much I have to work with and I really don't need anything right now. That's interesting about the WA concealer being so yellow.... that's how I feel about the Hourglass shade range. It is so saturated and orange/yellow/pink. I like their formulas but their shade range just doesn't work for me usually. I have a couple of their palettes and though the pans are small, they last a surprisingly long time. Idk if maybe they're hard pressed or not, but it takes a long time to go through one so I don't need to collect them every year. I'd love to see this as a regular series from you if you chose to do so! 😘💖

I'm afraid I get my dopamine fix from buying makeup. However, I have limits on the price of items. The hourglass pallet is gorgeous...I just can't. So good for you for giving everyone a dose of reality and for those that are easily influenced.

I'm hoping to do a single buy; get shade matched and then buy 2 of the Sephora Best Skin foundation, maybe a Sephora Brown liner & mascara and new Tarte mascara because I haven't found any other formulas that give me the fluttery soft lashes voluminous build of Big Ego.

Hi Carmel, thank you for this video. I don’t do sale recommendation videos for the same reasons. I think we can get better sales on brand websites. I did get the Huda palette though 😂. I do love it. But I do try to tell people never put themselves in a hole for FOMO and I don’t think I said it in my latest video but I always show makeup because it is fun. But we don’t need to spend a lot on makeup and should never put ourselves in a bad financial situation for it. You can look just as lovely with drugstore makeup ❤

You know I love a good deinfuencing video Carmel! 🙌 I don’t buy from Sephora anymore throughout the year unless I run out of something so I generally just save everything in my basket for the 2x annual Sephora sale and then edit my list based on priority. My order this year was just over $500 which is a lot (tax included) but I feel less bad when I know I’m not constantly buying throughout the year…that could just be me justifying 😂 Thankfully the Dior foundation stick is out of stock in my colour so I saved right there! 🙃🤣but you’re right, I probably don’t need it!

The sale is really only good for Rouge members and if you’re looking for Sephora collection stuff. VIB and Insiders basically are only saving on the tax. I Definitely would rather wait to see if what’s on my wishlist goes on sale on the brand websites.
