In my head, if something’s on the lower shelves, it tells me the product must be a good, stable enough product that the store has data to believe people will buy it even if it’s not directly in sight. Like ppl come in looking for it. Especially if it’s full price.
For some reason, people are thinking these forgotten products don't have a good quality even if it's not the case. These reviews are so important thanks Jen!
That person who complained about your foundation blending clearly doesn’t watch your content because they would know you have a cool undertone and it’s hard to find shades that don’t look yellow. I think your makeup blending skills are just fine and it really bothers me when people leave hurtful or insensitive comments- especially because you are such a sweet and genuine person!
Jen is right about cool undertones. I have a cool undertone, but not to the degree that she does. I see a lot of foundation shades that are called cool, but they're peachy. Actually, I seem to do better if I look for a neutral toned foundation. Adding pink to my complexion generally isn't good.
@@JenPhelps I can relate- I have really light skin with a distinct olive undertone and it is impossible to find a close match so I do the best I can and blend different shades down my neck to make it work!
@@JenPhelps I think you've got a "really" cool undertone, more so than most people. That's tough for a foundation match. I mean, I've never heard anyone else say that pink blush turns peachy on them. I'm not questioning what you say, I've just never heard it before.
I saw somewhere that using lighter concealers accentuates hollows which I have. So now I use concealer that matches my skin tone and just do a bright inner corner with eye shadow. Works great for me
CG Cheekers is a really good underrated drugstore blush. I used it for decades, but just got away from it over the years. My favorite was Rose Silk. Plus it’s so affordable! The brush that it comes with is laughable (like doll sized…🤣), but the formula is great!
This was a great idea! I absolutely love the Cover Girl blush you used, perfect color. On Graceful Beauty's channel, she shared using the Baby skin primer on top of your concealer, rather than using powder to set it. So, if you have dry skin, you don't get creases or cakeness. It totally works!💚
I’m so glad you showed that the L’Oréal infallible shadows are still around. I’ve looked for them on Amazon and some are priced between $10-$18 🤯 Going to try and find them in my stores😊❤️💄
I have a very cool undertone too and finding foundation colors that don't look yellow is near impossible!!! I love your bottom shelf shopping. What fun!
My absolute favorite bottom shelf classic is the Maybelline concealer stick. I have watery eyes and this is the only thing that is no budge and does not irritate them. It’s super creamy and easy to pat out with the heat of your finger and it lasts forever.
I will never forget how we used to smush those cheeker blush brushes down into a matted mess back in the 80’s 😆 so that it would make the blush go on softer. Even with a new blush we’d use our old ‘worn in’ blush brush. Oh the memories 😂. I certainly don’t recall washing them ever but I’m sure we’d wear the new brushes in at some point.
@ 😆 we didn’t know any better 🤷♀️😂 oh gosh, those sure were the days 😃 I love pictures from back then. We did great for all the things we didn’t know 😁🥰 truly baby faces
Jen, I really love your blush placement! I also bring my blush in a bit closer to my nose, and a bit higher, closer to my eyes. It gives such a youthful, healthy, sweet cheeked look. It's fabulous on you!
That Loreal single in pain au chocolate is one of my favorite one and done eyeshadows. And the CG cheekers are a long-time classic, I always have soft sable around.
I was just thinking that the L'Oreal single looks like a good one and done and came to the comments to see if anyone uses it that way. I'm looking for a really nice neutral taupe. Thanks!
Hi jen! I just wanted to give you a tip on how to help a foundation match better, if you have a red liquid blush, if you mix some into your foundation it will help it be alot more pink, hope this helps ❤
Hi Jen. I’m wearing my Amber Rush infallible shadow today! I chose my makeup at night before I put my daughter to bed. I get ready on my kitchen table because I don’t want to wake anyone up by turning on the lights in the bedrooms. I start my mornings early. 🫢

Hi, Jen! I love your videos. I'm not sure when the Cheekers Blush launched, but the Covergirl brand (founded by Noxema) came out in 1961. They were my go-to all throughout the 90s. I still love them actually. Lol
I love the Maybelline quads! Like not even "for the drugstore"- I just like them. They're a different beast from what people these days might be expecting, but they're just solid products.
I love videos about old forgotten products 😊 I had to pull out my own Baby Skin primer when you got to that product, thanks for reminding me of its existence 😅
One of my favorite drug store products is the eye lash curler from Wet n Wild! My lashes are pin straight and extremely hard to curl but this eye lash curler does an AMAZING job! Highly recommend it! Love your channel Jen! ❤️❤️💄💄
I wore the new purple liquid camo blush from elf for the first time today. It is SO pretty! If you like the formula, you'll love the color. Thanks for the brief seasonal footage. We get none of that here in Central Florida. But we do have hurricane debris piles in front of every house that haven't been picked up up yet. 👍
I just got mine in the mail today! Can't wait to try it. Wow...that's awful that the debris hasn't been picked up yet. 😥 We had a tornado here back in 2018 and there was debris everywhere. I think a difference is I like neutral or cool blushes and lip colors but desaturated. I love any color with gray mixed in for my coloring ❤
The wet and wild foundation is what I use. Haven’t used those others in a dogs age. But it’s nice to to know they still work. ❤
Nice to see you using some of the products in my collection! ;) I guess some of them have made it to the "bottom shelf" without me even being aware! ♡
