I have seen some really nice wild camping spots get ruined because they are added to apps like this, become popular, and don't have any infrastructure to support the influx of campers. I assume you mean for driving in Mexico... You need to cary Mexican car insurance (can be purchased online) and a valid drivers license from your home country.

Welcome aboard You will need to get a temporary vehicle import permit. The cost and exact procedure depend on your vehicle and which border you go through. Wikioverland is a good resource for border/logistics research. Have a fun trip!

Sorry But my brother lives in Baja and he has been back and forth to California a couple times for work.At this point It sounds like south bound crossing is pretty much the same as it was pre-covid. Northbound is a bit more of a gamble. it was faster for a while, but lately its been minimum 2 hour wait. at one point it was up to a 8 hour wait at the northbound crossing.
I was looking at Mexico on like maps street view and shit today and I was thinking about how cool it would be to drive through so 8 check on TH-cam and sure enough you son of a bitches have the video I wanted to see. Kudos chap

Can you please please tell me how it was to drive across the border during covid?
It was great(as USA citizens). Only 2 cars inront of us at the border in Mexicali. Normally it takes at least an hour. It took 5 minutes.
