In this video we go over the Adidas Harden Vol. 8:
The cushioning setup features a full-length Jet Boost midsole - pretty bouncy and smooth on feet. Step-in comfort is amazing, the stretchy sock collar design is essentially the same as that on the Harden Vol. 7 so it feels very nice and cozy as expected. Traction performance is excellent, you can get a consistent and squeaky grip even on dusty indoor courts. I think the durability will be up to the Adidas standard as well, and this shoe fits true to size. Be aware of minor issues with the upper stability, plus some dead space in the toe box but otherwise this is a fantastic shoe to play in on top of an unmatched design.

I appreciate the weight of the Harden and AE1’s. They give so much stability. I feel more comfortable doing hard cuts in these over any shoes I’ve worn. From Kobes’s, LeBrons and Puma’s. They just give so much confidence. Such an OP shoes. 🍻

@@tyon2k91 1000% AE1. I just actually tried the AE1's last 2 weeks and Harden vol 8's during this 1st week. They both feel similar but AE1's has way better traction durability. Harden vol 8 is decent traction but pickups dust frequently

These look awesome, I love how different they look. Adidas is definitely moving the needle when it comes to aesthetics for basketball shoes. Even though there is obvious influence from yeezy, these feel refreshing compared to all the other basketball shoes that have come out. If they feel/perform anything like the vol 7's. These are an early ballot for shoe of the year tbh

So i hooped in these Friday night. I am a huge fan of the Harden 7 (have 3 pairs). On the 7s the cushion is near perfect, elite traction & containment, good bounce back, and have great step in comfort. I was hoping the 8 would be a step up but I think its a very small step down. I LOVE the jet boost in the AE1s but its stiffer in the 8 for some reason. I also think the TPU on the medial and lateral side is too stiff and to make it not as bad, you have to bend it ahead of time and the creases are awful looking. The shoe is noticeably warmer than the 7s which I never had an issue with. I still think its a top tier shoe compared to everything else. Probably the 4th best shoe on the market (WOW, AE1, Lebron 20/21, maybe the Sabrinas). One warning: The weight of the shoe never bothered me but if you hoop for a long period of time, you will start feeling it when you get tired.

The side profile reminds me of the Dame 4 - I miss the Dame 4 so much hahah it felt like putting on a sock. Foot never shifted around in the shoe and felt fully locked-in

Hey. I’m not gay so this is a straight answer - just gotta tell you that they’re both excellent. Go with the AE 1 then, Harden’s I’m still testing its durability.

Yes similar to the Vol. 7, and no they don’t. The foam carrier is very soft, as mentioned.
I had a volume 7 sz 9.5(kinda big long for me) and it hurts like shit, cant even run when im using it. Would i prefer for sz10 for this vol 8??

I think the appearance of this line and even in addidas in general has been its weakest link but um glad they preform well!!

@TommyLiu4 I've played with them twice, once outside and once indoors, I really felt comfortable pulling moves, stepbacks, and whatnot.
I didn't feel any instability or heaviness to them, which was very nice. I really like the jet - boost that they have implemented in them, felt very comfortable.
I really liked the overall design and color (we own the same color).

Yes but they’re at the same level of performance to me.
Tommy if u had to pick between vol 8 or vol 7 which one will u choose or if u have 3 brand new vol 7 that u use would u still get the vol 8?

In that case maybe not the 7s are really really good. It is worth trying, I just wouldn’t call it a clear-cut upgrade.

I like the design and the color but I don’t like the material used for the cage it’s too soft creases easy feel like it should be a harder material like the AE1

For a year or so - we’ll see after a year? Creasing, has begun lol
And creasing is mostly on the front end of the EVA carrier, didn’t affect the performance or anything yet.

Interesting that they changed the cushioning to full-length jetboost like the AE1. Given how the AE1s are 120 _and_ they come in a nice box _and_ they come with extra laces, these are a bit of a tough ask at 160.
True. But yeah I think full-length Jet Boost is what they’ll put on some of their signature shoes going forward (replacing Lightstrike + Boost or just Boost). The AE 1 was for sure priced decently for what we get.

Just cushion wise kind of, but the Vol. 6 is a lot flatter in general.

@TommyLiu4 I've been hesitant to get the lebron 21s because of weight but I have the kd 16s and I heard they are the same weight pretty much and I have the 20s so not sure if the 21s are worth it.

I think your ranking is what most would agree with. Recency bias for sure, 8, 7, 4, 1, 3 for me but those are all GREAT shoes honestly. Just my personal take… My Harden Vol. 3 (I had the gold colorway) traction was sooooo bad on dust to a point where I simply couldn’t play in them, which is weird cause I heard others had a great experience with them. 8 I’m just a little bit concerned about its durability but we’ll have to see on that - otherwise I’m really loving it personally.
Like 8 is more of an outlier with the design and everything but that’s also why I love it so much 😂

That’s extremely tough lol they’re right at the same level of performance to me and both are fantastic all-around performers. Liren 3 V2 maybe, but the 4 is even better to me.

You must have very wide feet, no? The Vol. 7 fits pretty spacious from my experience. Vol. 8 is about the same tbh, especially in the toe box.

The AE 1 is more durable, these feel a little bit quicker and more agile - I personally like these a tiny bit more (recency bias) too.

The biggest turn off for me is the fact the toe box leather doesn’t look premium! It look detached from the shoe and it’s just a no for me. The red , & silver harden vol 7 has been my favorites.

These have no shank so there bad for flat feet. They look cool but probably won’t perform as well as a pair as Nikes. The ae1s are heavier and they also have no shank.
