  • This week we asked our Sling Pilot Academy CFI’s to list the TOP 5 most common mistakes they see student pilots making. We went up in the Sling TSI to demonstrate each mistake and give tips on how to avoid them. Then we asked a couple of current Sling Pilot Academy students about their most common mistakes and their thoughts on our top 5.
Remember: if you want to become a pilot, it’s crucial to be able to admit to your mistakes and learn from them!

Great video, very informative. Not just for new pilots either!

Chin up James, happens to the best of us. I have an easily upsettable stomach too (due to the fact I have a hiatal hernia).
Avoid these pre flight or a long drive you're not driving, or boat trip (2hs before):
    1) large amounts of liquid, so no coffee, mate or tea before. definitely no frosted flakes with milk.
    2) any fatty foods, no bacon, no beans if they have bacon grease.
Ideally: If you are a coffee guy drink a shot of espresso, or a small drink of whatever you like, then mostly dry stuff, like 2 scrambled eggs low on butter on 2 large pieces of toast. , you want to avoid liquid sloshing in your stomach so toast or crackers are ideal as they will soak up any liquid.
Eating dry frosted flakes if you're hooked on the sugar also works, but you'd need a lot. I'd go with the toast.

the first clue was on taxi when he said he was hot. Second clue is this is first time in small airplane. Third clue is he is in the back. I bet if you asked him, he gets a bit car sick when riding in the back as well. My wife has all the same history, and she can't fly with me at all. Very sad.

There is a medicine called "Mercalm" works perfectly!
No travel sickness and you are even allowed to perform as PIC.
      Try it out!
