    This just showed up today, so I think I'll be back and watch a few more of your videos. I haven't tried stiffening fabric for crafts yet, but it looks like a fun project to try out. I do like the butterflies - I have an old quilt that was falling apart, and I've been using sections of it for other crafts.

    I have store bought stiffener but never knew corn starch does the same thing. I’ve made white doilies into flowers and attached them to dowels wrapped in green floral tape and put into a vase. Wish you would have shown them reshaped, dried and staged so everyone can see the final product and your talents. But I can also hear from your voice that you may be afflicted with “craft overdose” and boy, do I get that. Take care and thanks for your efforts.😊

    I've just recently discovered your channel and had to subscribe!
    I've enjoyed each video I've watched, especially the ones on shabby chic decor.
    I'd never heard of it and almost cried when I thought of all the things I threw away that I could be using now!
    Question: I really want to make my own starch, since Argo is not easy to find and I'm out of cornstarch, so have you ever made fabric starch with flour?
    If so, is the he recipe the same?
    I'm headed over to watch your sc bird house video.
    Again, thank you for sharing your time, talents, and soothing voice.
    May the Lord God bless you and your family. ✌️♥️🙏

    Thank you Lisa, a whole lot cheaper this way. You made a video the other day making candles ornaments, you used a quilt for the flames, any suggestions if we don’t have a quilt, would regular fabric stiffened keep its shape or should I sew some batting in my flames?

    Hi! If you use this method for a fabric used for a craft, will it eventually get moldy? That's my biggest concern.

    • @ourshabbycottage8553
      @ourshabbycottage8553  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I have fabric I used this on several months ago and I haven’t had that issue yet. Of course that’s not a guarantee🙂

    • @scootermom1791
      @scootermom1791 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@ourshabbycottage8553 I know there's no guarantee, but I'm glad to know you haven't had an issues with mold growth after several months. I need to stiffen a piece of fabric I'd cut out from an old t-shirt for a collage. I just wanted to make sure it wouldn't go moldy any time soon. Did you happen to use a chemical sealant on your fabric afterwards?

    • @ourshabbycottage8553
      @ourshabbycottage8553  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@scootermom1791 I didn’t but when you know it’s completely dry, it’s not a bad idea.
