Hi sis. I'm here to support a fellow crochet like you. Thank you for the informative video. Nagawa ko na Ito. Pero Thank you sa more detailed na explanation. ❤️
Haven't tried fabric glue for this mixture. But I did try using only fabric glue and I agree with you, it doe not make the items stiff. So I don't recommend it❤️
Yes it will help. I suggest instead of soaking, try to use a spray bottle. Pin the sleeve on a clean surface and spray the mixture all over it. BUT if you don't have a spray bottle proceed as instructed.❤️
Hi! The best way to use starch is to dissolve it in a bóling water. Soak the garments/crocheted item and let it dry. But note that when you wash it again the starch will be completely washed out. Lumps can also be inevitable in using starch. I believe there are also fabric stiffeners (spray) available in the market. Thank you☺️
@@isahferncrochet ohh okay! Thank you so much!😊 Actually here in market the spray is not available that's why I bought the revive fabric stiffener powder...
A friend of mine use glue mixture also in curtains and table cloths. She just put in a spray bottle and spray all over. But she pin it first to a clean surface, stretch it to block. (Always use a stainless pin when blocking.) I remember one friend who used ordinary thumb tucks and had her sheets full of rust/stains after
@@isahferncrochet ohk okay! I guess might be I used it in a wrong way because it became loose again once dried ... I used mixture of normal tap water and revive starch powder ...
Hi! Just made a few pairs of crochet earrings and was wondering how to stiffen them and sell for profit. I used mod podge on one earring and I not too please with the outcome. The earring looks dull but it’s stiff. Will glue and water give the same results? Is there a different mod podge I can use? TIA
Mod podge usually gives white residue when it dries. Although a mixture of glue and water is already a diy mod podge I prefer to use this as it gives natural stiffness and natural look also. I suggest you try first to a small sample project and see the result. Remember not to put too many glue in a small amount of water.
Oh, I haven’t actually tried this. But I think it’s best to try dipping a bead and let it dry then see what happens. Another way is we can try to dry the beads with a piece of cloth after soaking the entire project so that it will not have a trace of glue when the project dried up.
@@drawnalyn8825 i haven’t actually tried using this in milk cotton. But I am pretty sure it will work. I suggest that you make a petal and test how much glue to use in order to get the best result. Try also using the spray method. After making the flower, spray the solution, arrange/form the petals and let it dry. Whatever works best for you.

Can this be done with 4 ply yarn???.like the red heart super saver yarn ????
This also works with acrylic and worsted weight yarns. The output though is not as good as with cotton. You may try a small piece for a sample.
any type of glue? and will it come out at all?and love the earings do u have a pattern?
Any brand, yes...
Here's the tutorial. Thank you.

I want to add the earring hooks after this. I’m just wondering if you suggest that since yours already has the earring pieces
That’s great! I used hooks that won’t tarnish so I didn’t mind not removing it. But to be sure, yes, your idea is better. Thanks!😊
Is it permanent? Pr needs repitition of process with each wash?
@@irashah6270 for the items like earrings that don’t need regular wash, it last. For some, it takes 2 to 3 washing before the mixture wears off.
Does the stiffness go away after wash? Thankyou for sharing 💞
It didn't go away on my first wash. It was still stiff when it dried. Haven't tried it again though.😊
You're welcome and Thank you as well.❤️
Thanks for the tutorial!!✨
I wanna try this method for my hat project, but will it become loose again if I wash it?
Based on my own experience, I tried to wash that same earrings and dried it, the stiffness is still there. Haven't tried it on big projects though.
@@isahferncrochet alright! Thanks for the explanation. I'll try it! 😊
Hi love the tutoriol.. but im curious is it only available for cotton? If the yarn is acrylic is it gonna stiff example like your earrings?? 😁
Can be used to acrylic too but the result will not be as good/nice as that of the cotton.
if u got glue on the part that goes in the ear does that come of easy
What do you mean? The fish hook itself?
Yes, just wipe it off after soaking or better yet, attach the fish hook after drying the crochet item.
Hi.. is it a fabric glue? Or any kind will do? Thanks you
Any kind will do😊

I can see using that on earrings but I wanted something to stiffen the bill on a crochet hat. Something that would be washable
It can actually be washed. I suggest you use a spray bottle and spray the mixture on the bill of a hat instead of soaking.

will this work on milk cotton yarn?
Yes it will.
Helloooo! Can I ask if this method can be apply to the petals of a flower? My petals are curling up. I hope this method will work ❤
Yes, although not all types of yarn. It works best with cotton.
Little amount of glue will do.

Does it work on chenille yarn?
I don't recommend this for chenille as it will ruin its quality.
Can I do the same with acrylic yarn ?
Yes, you can.
What about the smell of glue? How long does it take to go away?
Hi! Based on my experience, once it's dry, the smell of glue is gone too. Just have it dry in a well ventilated area.

Hi will this give any gloss to my items. I want a way to put some sheen on a piece of jewelry I made.
Oh... Sorry it won't. I haven't tried but I think a nail polish will do. Btw, is it crochet jewelry also?
@@isahferncrochet yes
Could this ruin the color of the made piece eg. White (or any bright colored) earrings?
If the yarn does not bleed, it definitely won't.
I suggest, wash the piece first to check.
Thankyou, but I mean if the earrings were made with white yarn, would this method ruin the white color??
No, it won't either. I have tried that many times.♥️

Hi can you use clear Elmer's Glue
Yes, you can!♥️😊
hii can i use this to other crochet projects like summer hats?
Yes you may.
Does it smell of glue afterwards?
While it’s still wet, yes it does but gone when it dries up. Not really sure with other brand though.

Monaco has always been the best sa kahit anong projects. All time favorite. Naisip ko lang gamitin ang dmc kasi sayang yung mga leftover.
Hello! Does it dull the colours?
It does not. Just make sure the yarn you use does not bleed.
Please illustrate how to stippen the brim without the plastuc brimmer
