8:04 quick clarification, when on expeditions n shit, canadian forces typically have a little 5 lbs gas stove with some small pots. basically just dump some water in there (it aint gotta be that clean if you dont plan on drinking it), shove the food pouches in, and let the water boil extra points if you jam the whole groups food pouches in there and pass em out randomly

As a Canadian it was hilarious to see an American try our Mre, yes Canada has two official languages, french and English. I'm sad he didn't boil it cause it's much better when you do. 7/10

As a Canadian military member, I recommend the chicken and vegetable stew. There is also pizza pasta, poutine, lasagna, south western chipotle chicken, and then it kinda gets down hill with the others
I’m currently an armoured soldier in the Canadian Armed Forces. During my basic training, waking up to a nice, warm, hash brown & bacon IMP was a big morale boost. (Southwest chipotle chicken, so far been my favourite.)

That MRE was newer than half the ones I've had to eat. That unlabelled one was a date square, its dessert. The smoked meat is decent if you cook it. We use pots on Coleman stoves, or they have standard ration heating packs y'all use too. The napkin has been used to trick many a dude. Like "hey man, want my mint" or dip it in the hot water after cooking all the rations for section and use it to wash yourself up.
If there's anyone I'd go to the range with, it's Nikko. I feel like he would be the best company ever. I'd be laughing too much to actually shoot anything
Canadian Army here, awesome seeing you try out our IMP. I remember getting a vegetable stew one on my winter warfare course, but we didn’t have time to heat it up so it was basically a slushy.
I was CDN infantry 89-94. Our menu was very different back then, but most were decent. I would like to try the new ones to compare flavor and quality. And yes Nikko, there are French in the US also.

So to cook your meal bag, usually it comes with a green plastic bag. you cut the top then add water to the line. put your meal bag in it and seal the green plastic bag. wait 15 minutes and it will be hot. the product in the plastic green bag will react with the water and make it boil.
For the best burger, in my opinion. If you're ever in Springfield, Missouri, for some random reason. There is a place called Black Sheep Burgers and Shakes that I think is pretty good. The cool thing about their shakes is that they make cakes and cobblers to put into the milkshake, and if you go to the sit-down restaurants, you can get the alcoholic versions. The blackberry cobbler is my personal go-to.
Canadian MRE's are great. I was in for 37 years and went through all the strange times and the good. In the 90's it was testing time, we had chinese food and macaroni and chese with peas.
There’s Mac and spicy Mac now by what I’ve been told by some cadets, unsurprisingly high ticket items so they much be good, I’ve had pulled pork in sauce, tasted great. (Not CAF, just have some friends in cadets)

They used to have a maple syrup candy that looked exactly like the compressed napkin, so the first time they introduced it I was so happy to get the discontinued maple syrup candy, shoved it in my mouth and I did magic by pulling out a tissue
We used to save the instant coffee pouches to trade with the transport guys. They would make coffee that was kinda like syrup. It wasn't that hot but would chemically burn your mouth and keep you awake.
8:05 Most units bring a pot with them. Some bring gas-stoves, some don't. If you didn't bring a gas-stove, you use the matches and make a small fire pit and set the pot up there. I have fond memories as a Cadet when someone would bring out the gas stove, f*ck up, and we would have to use like, three pots over fire to feed 40 people. Fun times.

You gotta try Australian Ration Packs (MRE), they can be consumed hot or cold. Also ours have more than enough in them for a 24 hour period, not like most MRE's which are only for a single meal.

Jolly guys checked out Korean MREs and they looked quite good. Honestly though dude, you could have a kettle or something to heat things when it says to. Some food totally changes once heated and sauces/fats combine.
In the CAF we used to use the drink beverage bags to put our phones in to keep them dry, if you put your phone inside you can still use the touch screen.
My favourite one is Honey Garlic Chicken. I’ve eaten that one cold many times and it’s good either way. In the field they usually give us heating packs that you add water to and place the meal pack inside and they heat up. Often times they don’t work well so I just usually eat them cold. Also the date square sucks lol.
In my time in the Canadian forces we had IMP's and sometimes American MRE. We found the MRES too sweet, and too salty And we much preferred our IMPS. For the best hamburgers, try Harvey's. It is a Canadian chain, which has good food.

It's not a national chain or anything, but we love Mugshots burgers! They're in MS/AL/FL/LA area, and they're SO GOOD.
The best burger place is near Seagrove in North Carolina called Cagle's Diner. Their double bacon cheeseburgers are amazing

alright im in army cadets in canada and we eat MRE's the ones we get arent bad and we get nasty expired ones but they taste good, o and those spoons are life savers u can basicly do anything with them i have a friend that sharpend it and its still sharp to this day
