UPDATE: For another alcohol free option that stays clear, try out Cyclomethicone. I just used it today & it gave me a crystal clear result. Use 90% Cyclomethicone and 10% Fragrance of choice. Link is down below. www.elementsbathandbody.com/Cyclomethicone.html
This is so helpful, thank you!! What are you thoughts on making an an alcohol free insect repellant? I am thinking to use the 90% cyclomethicone? Would this be skin safe? For FO, I am going to use the WW Co. Citronella + Camphor AND/OR Muddled Mint + Citron.
I tried the 90% cycolmthicone and 10 % fragrance. I love how it absorbs fragrance, but the problem is it sprays oily. My sister tried it and it stained her cotton sheet..
I scouted youtube to find your video, lol. Im screaming THANK YOU!!! I'm a small business owner who up until now only sold candles. In late 2023, a small cleaning business reached out to me & forced me to step out of my comfort zone when they asked me to make room sprays. After sifting through many videos I found yours and have gotten nothing short of amazing feedback with the samples I presented to my now business partners. We signed our contract last month and production begins this week for the sprays. Your recipe is amazing and I love the fact you're not using distilled water or a spray base. I truly want to give you your flowers. Thank you, thank you, thank you 💜 I'm now growing my business with confidence and still maintaining quality.
Hi~ I know Im late lol but I reverse engineered the recipe and thought ya'll might want it. So technically since the outcome is 4.235 oz and you can set the recipe to about 3.20 oz to get around 3.5 oz. However, you may want more accuracy especially if you intend to do larger quantities of this recipe. Here is the true ratio for those that want it (roughly, minus the longer line of numbers in the percent): 0.826% glycerine 57.851% alcohol 8.264% FO 16.528% poly 80 16.528% witch hazel (99.997% total) So if you want to make it actually 3.5 oz, you will need: 0.028 oz glycerine 2.024 oz alcohol 0.289 oz FO 0.578 oz poly 80 0.578 oz witch hazel Hope this helps~
You’re not late. Thank you so much. I was like “wait…the math is not mathing” 😂 But I think if you’re making large batches it becomes less of an issue because whatever you end up having in excess could always end up being your tester bottle. So following those ratios as given works. Especially since the fragrance oil is meant to be adjustable. Also…for anyone who wants to do this in grams….1 fluid oz is about 23.3 grams of ethanol.
@Nicole Johnson according to the cdc the percentage of alcohol needed to disinfect is 60% so maybe just add 2.2% more to make it up to 60% at least. I spotted that too and I think i'll do it at 60% instead if 57.851% and adjust the witchhazel to accomodate it. I'm also going to use less fragrance as most my suppliers recommend no more than 5% for body use. Check safe usage rates from your supplier. good luck x
So sweet, Jessica! Thanks for sharing. Would you mind doing a step by step tutorial on how you create your labels and logo designs. It would be greatly appreciated.

Im currently testing out using her exact measuremts except the glycerin. I used some dried rose buds i have. Im day 3 into letting this rest for 7 days. The rose buds have turned a pale blush pink color but the liquid itself is still clear.

Thank you very much for the video. Does it matter what kind of container I use to store the mixture after it’s done so the smell of the alcohol can dissipate. Thank you
I think she had her own supplier. She was selling them but haven't been active lately. You can try Sixteen Seventeen candle supply. I think they have some similar.
thank you so much for this lovely video!! would it also make sense that over time the yellow hue dissipates some? realizing it depends on the FO that is used, my mixture is becoming less and less yellow over the last two weeks. please let me know your thoughts, thank you!
Quick question: Which flowers were you able to use that did not fade in your bottle over time? Also, have you begun formulating with Augeo Clean Multi just yet?
Hi Jessica, Im a newbie here and i cannot tell you how much ive learned from all your videos...im a huge fan...since i live across the globe its really hard sourcing all the right materials from the states but your videos and advice helps narrow things down immensely....just a question would you rather use the Cyclomethicone formula or the other recipe?? im using the WWC fragrance oils would love to know which ones would work best ... thanks once again and i cant wait to see your future videos:)
Can you use germall liquid plus as a preservative instead? Also I’ve tried adding flowers to sprays before and they end up brown after a while. Does this happen with your formula too?
Thanks for making this video and providing guidance on making room sprays. However I have a question. In your video, you said to use 10% fragrance oil, double this (20%) for polysobate 80, 70% for perfumer's alcohol. This makes it 100% already. Then you add 20% Witch hazel, which makes the total 120%. Shouldn't it all total 100%?
When using only 7% fragrance, everything adds up to 100 %. Just adjust by reducing 1 to 3% the alcool if you want to add more than 7% fragrance. I hope it helps.
This looks amazing thank you for posting I can't wait to make this. I want to make it a room and linen spray. Should I remove the vegetable glycerin, so it won' t be any oil if my customers spray this on their linens?

No need for preservative because
Bacteria, yeasts, and molds do not grow in an ethanol concentration of approximately 15-20% or greater

Hi Temitope did you every find an answer for this?
It's very confusing. Also if swapping the alcohol for witchhazel at 90% and fo at 10% then there is no room left for poly 80 or anything else.
When using only 7% fragrance, everything adds up to 100 %.
Just adjust by reducing 1 to 3% the alcool if you want to add more than 7% fragrance.
I hope it helps.
