I bought Model GDF630PSM4SS in September. It stopped draining after two weeks. The technician who was sent told me that the problem was that I bought GE Dishwasher in the first place. Not kidding! He told me he would buy a Bosch as all GE dishwashers are junk. It broke a week later and for the next 3 weeks I had to bail it out by hand, let it sit a day, and then it would work again for about 4-6 times. The 2nd technician ordered a part that did not need to be replaced, got it to work and then it failed again and would not drain. I had to buy a new dishwasher and the GE sits in my garage. GE told me they will not refund the money and would only replace it if the technician states in cannot be fixed. Stay away from GE.
SS interiors aid in condensation drying and does not burn with a heating element like plastic interiors. Guess what item is the first to break in DWers with grinders? Grinders! So, many people pre-wash er "pre-rinse" to avoid stressing the grinder. Use enzyme based detergent with filter based DW and you only need to clean filter every 100 cycles or so if you scrape your dishes.
I have a Bosch sires 4 and it's so quiet and it has lots of cycles like auto virio speed and more plus it's a lovely stainless steel colour. £400.00 so I thought about it and brought it since it was so affordable. I also looked at some reviews of the dishwasher. Our previous dishwasher was a essinals and that was a very noisy dishwasher.
What a shame Hobart no longer builds KitchenAid. The "Hobart" KitchenAid Superba was one of the best dishwashers ever made. I remember back in 1976 aunt redid her kitchen and replaced her Maytag Jet Clean dishwasher with a KitchenAid Superba. She was amazed at how much better the KitchenAid cleaned the dishes.
Don’t put kitchen knives in the dishwasher, but silverware knives are OK. All dishwashing detergent is abrasive (which is why they work), so know what NOT to put in.
I prefer the appliance that will not break, will run for years, is easy to repair or service, has few bells and whistles that can go wrong. Mechanical rather than electronic is also better.
Have you done testing on countertop dishwashers. There are ones that now have a tank that if you haven't got it hooked up to faucet you can still do dishes with dishwasher.
My old DW had a heating element on the bottom that burned fallen chopsticks. My new Electrolux does not which is much nicer! OF course a new $1100 DW vs 27 yr old Whirlpool SHOULD be much nicer!
What about sanitize cycles? I have a baby that needs sanitized bottles and do lots of canning that would be nice if I could sanitize my jars without boiling them.
@Brisdad53 your not very good about knowing when your ignorant do you? What do you think the temp difference is between steam and boiling water? Steam will sanitize without any "chemicals", but it is nice to also have them clean too so adding some soap is still a good idea.
What if you forgot to turn off the faucet where the inlet hose is connected, after the dishwasher has finished the wash program, will the hose burst from the extreme water pressure build up?
Informative video and it helped my decision -- not to waste my money on dishwashers. They're slow, waste a lot of water, waste energy and not good for the environment. Good old handwashing is still better -- faster, cleaner, less water, less energy, cheaper to own, and no set of rules to avoid -- all dirty utensils can be washed by hand (no exceptions). Even if you have an entire football team eating.
This machine is for rich people. People who can afford to buy and afford to pay monthly electricity. For me the best and accurate to was is Hand Wash Machine it takes less than 5 minutes to wash all plates, spoon, fork, glass and more.
What did anyone get out of this? They never come out and give names of the best dishwashers and that is what I wanted to know. Tell me at least the top 4 models to pick from. I don't care about noise I care about the cleaning. ANYONE have one that they don't have problems with???????
You people obviously dont wash dishes alot. Quitenss is the number one request?!?! No run time on a normal load. Because a quick wash doesnt clean as good as the normal wash. But the normal wash and the oh so fabulous energy star rating you all are making us all live by doesnt actually do anything other than stretch out the time we use water and energy. Which means we use less of it because we can't do three or four loads a day because that is all it will do in a day period. If you are waiting on it for to stop. Which is what o have to do. Sk we have to use one hour wash every day. It is awful. Run times on loads should be included on all purchasing literature for salesman and buyers for all appliances. But highly doubt that will change. But you gyou guys could help that. Mommas dont want a six hour dishwasher load.
Or you could wash up by hand.Your quality glassware and dinnerware will last far, far longer without clouding or fading the pattern, in a shorter time, saving electricity as well, polluting less!
And you'll be using more water, soap, propane to heat up the water used for handwashing, whilst not getting the same hygiene results. No thanks, handwashing can stay in the 1960s
@@electronz2288 Have you seen some of the filters inside dishwashers, especially ge, that are difficult to keep clean? It looks like a compost dump. Your dishes are clean? What are all those crumbs in the silverware drawers?
Maytag has poor factory quality control and poor warranty support. mine died after 2 months. They have done nothing for 5 weeks and won't offer an exchange unit I wait 9 weeks for service and parts... never ever ever ever buy this brand.

Very informative Thank you, my family is growing and we very much needed a dishwasher, I didn’t even know where to start on how to buy one.

Thank you for this very helpful video. I did not even know I myself had to wash the filter.
Just spent $1250.00 , getting it installed in 2 days a Bosch 39 disciples , nice & quite, , had a Bosch up North. So ordered one here, in Florida
That's the number one selling brand.
39 disciples? heh
WHY IS IT THAT NONE CAN BLOW THE WATER OFF THE TOP OF MUGS AND GLASSES?
HOW HARD CAN IT BE TO FIGURE THAT OUT?
Great informative video I would suggest though that you put brands and prices. Thanks.

Thank you. This is such a very good guide. :)
What dishwasher has best filtration
What about ones that work well with hard water?

I think it is the steam function

Wow this is really helpful. Thankful for this.
$2000 dishwasher ... I hope it puts the dishes away for you

Shit better clean my entire kitchen as well

Why would that have been necessary?

very fast when you are alone!
They are going to have to make a part 2. They forgot all about COUNTERTOP DISHWASHERS!
That classified under portable dishwashers lol
Extremely few are sold and they have relatively poor performance/value for money.
where chapter?
I had to replace my dishwasher so I opted for an inexpensive model and I got a worthless piece of junk.
My asian mom is laughing 😂

Stainless steel is nice BUT brushed stainless steel is sexy.
Whirlpool sucks
