Minato 100% Believed he was about to Teleport to the real Madara not to Obito.....for the last 16 years he believed he fought the real Madara....
This is and probably will always be my favorite fight of anime.
And I never tire of hearing Neil Kaplan as the voice of Madara.
A line that’s huge that a lot people skim over when Kakashi says “I guess I can’t find anything that will change you” the genjutsu they were in at the beginning was the fight that we saw played out, but Kakashi realized once he got stabbed in the genjutsu that since that wasn’t enough to snap Obito out of this mad mentality he is in, that nothing will. And I love that.

You put together so fast that Minato realized at THAT moment that the masked man was Obito, and also that he arrived first because he put the mark 16 years ago ant it never vanishes. Also, the fight scene between Kakashi and Obito, one of my favorite scenes of the whole show
One thing important to know, Obito could have easily eliminated Kakashi. He is far stronger than him with rinnegen or not. He purposely held back against him so Kakashi penetrates Obito's heart and he can get rid of the seal that Madara planted in his heart to control him. To be the sage of six paths.

He was Not holding back … That was a pure taijutsu fight and kakashi is one of the strongesg charachters in taijutsu
@@Kirro-gt1oi he was. Obito is an uchiha, he also had a rinnegen & first hokuge's cells wood style never used any of them. Because he didn't want to finish Kakashi. As well as Taijutsu. Before he takes Kakashi to his dimension he said , it's time for me now to become Jinchuriki of the ten tails. He can't be with the seal on.
@@Kirro-gt1oi he was holding back obito is far better in anything compared to kakashi , he fought gai who is the best taijustu user with 7 gates and he couldn't even touch him + obito has the sharingan (he can read kakashi's moves very easily) and to make sure of what am saying go to ep 425 and listen careully to madara's discusion with obito

People saying obito held back don’t seem to understand th situation. The seal stopped him from offing himself or removing the seal manually, otherwise he’d have just done it to himself. So he had to trick the seal into thinking he was trying his hardest subconsciously whilst also making sure Kakashi removed it for him with his chidori. Int terms of all out ninjutsu and power yes obito at this point slams Kakashi. So he picked the one playing field where both are equal, where pure skill is what prevails and that’s their taijutsu. Kakashi is an A1 elite taijutsu fighter you can count on one hand how many people are better than him at taijutsu in the entire series. The point is yes obito in an all out fight could’ve stomped Kakashi, but he chose straight hands because Kakashi was frankly on par or maybe even better than obito and he always was. Again he needed someone to remove the seal without subconsciously trying to do so in order to trick the seal which stopped him from doing it himself.
One of the best fights in anime but I will say Obito if he wanted to could kill kakashi. Instead, he plan to fight him like this so he could destroy the seal in his heart that Madara place after saving his life. Obito knew it was the lightening shadow clone. He purposely wanted to lose. Don't underestimate him. He's surpassed kakashi in intelligence, skills and power.
How could they make you sad and excited at the same time
with madara talking about obito being a backup minato realised that obito may have been the masked man, he tests that theory using the marking that he left on the masked man, and he was right
People need to understand obito wasn't even trying. It was pretty much like shisui sparring itachi.

While Kakashi did catch Obito off guard a couple times (when he backflip kicked the kunai to Obito's face and tricked him with a lightning clone), Obito was pretty much putting the beats on Kakashi. Whenever there was actually a punch sound effect, you can see that was Obito landing punches

People be really dumb in comments thinking kakshi was on par with obito ,obito has literally hashirama cells & forbidden jutsu's teaching from madara & also have experience of destroying tailed beast ,konan & other shinobis ,he is literally holding back .

Obito is way stronger than Kakashi as adults even as kids Obito was catching up to them, but I think that’s thanks to Obito being an Uchiha, he’s just a late bloomer but has far greater potential if used right and Madara used it right but in a twisted way to manipulate him

okey let me explain even though everything is clear :
first thing kakashi is not stronger than obito : you will know why obito (lost) to him in that fight
when madara tries to force obito to use his rinengan to revive madara , obito repels that and he use whatever force he got to wave the sign to merge with ten tails even minato's slice didn't stop him he completed the justu before that
and just the fact that the man fight kakashi , get stabbed through the heart and get controlled by madara and stabbed by minato in the neck and yet survive is fascinating to me and show how strong obito is
yh and kakashi meatriders till this day still can't comprehend this, even after all these years. there's people that genuinely think hes stronger than obito 🤣🤣
when it cuts back to minato and obito fighting in the past he put a flying rijin marking on him and he says that those marking never go away so he was confused for a sec that obito was the one that was the person he fought in the mask in the past and obito couldn't use rinne rebirth on rin because madara had implanted a zetzu on him when he rescued him so he always had control over obito so my guess is that madara wouldn't allow him to use it on anyone else but himself and also in able to use that jutsu one must possess the rinnegan and obito never did until he took it from nagato after he killed konan. its the little details that you can easily miss while watching but i would try to pay attention more throughout the rest of the war arc. no intend to be rude about that just a heads up incase you might miss something important.
and yes obito was weaving hand signs the whole time though its hard to see sometimes but thats why naruto literally says "hes been weaving the signs to do this right from the beginning" so its like a jutsu to absorb the ten tails.

This is the whole "That Rin is an impostor" thing Obito talks about. Long story short, he's not entirely doing the Infinite Tsukuyomi for Rin's sake. Her death was just what made him "wake up" and realise that the shinobi world was hell. Bringing her back wouldn't change the shinobi world. Obito wants a world where people like RIn don't have to die, and people like Kakashi don't have to "make empty excuses in front of graves."
Don't worry about not understanding Obito's thoughts and ideology though, his is probably the most complex of all the villains.
I was stumped for an answer too, but I guess this kinda makes sense?
so he revives rin, then he dies because the rinne rebirth kills the jutsu user. and rin is back in the world he views as cruel -- the one he sees as hell. so of course he doesnt wanna do that.
and IIRC when him and kakashi talked, obito said something along the lines of 'if you think I did what I did because of rin, then you are mistaken', and he further explained that its this world that he has to change or that he'll put out the cruelty out of everyone via infinite tsukuyomi where everything is peaceful and everyone is happy.. but subconsiously its the hate(the uchihas curse) thats driving him with his destructive goal.
