  • Hello everyone, today I will show you how I created a steampunk/clockpunk phone case using
only brass and copper parts. It is not a very simple diy project but the result is great.
    Enjoy watching the video.

Looks good but you have just encased your phone in a Faraday Cage. Signal strength should be dismal.

I live in a big city, I do not have problems with the signal. I just wanted to make a steampunk case that I can wear :).

Wouldn't that mean you also block the radiation from the phone.

Phones emit “NON-ioninzing radiation”, which is a harmless kind of radiation. It doesn’t “cause Cancer”.

@ i recover them from old clocks. But be careful if you want to disassemble one or more, it may be dangerous because the spring inside it has a lot of power. Search online how to do it. Maybe i will make a video about how to do it safely.

This is an absolutely gorgeous build! But, I have to think that it's a bit cumbersome unless you're popping the phone in and out of it frequently? If you don't have a bluetooth device connected, it seems it would be difficult to talk on the phone, and you've just doubled the width of the piece for any other use. Again, I think the build result is beautiful, and pure art. I just have to wonder about the practicality of it?

    • @ImpactDIY
      @ImpactDIY  5 ปีที่แล้ว

I can be used as any phone case, it is not big, the phone is big :) it is a note 8. The only problem is the weight, it has 400 grams without the phone. Every time I use it it creates a Wow! effect :)

What a smart idea: put antennas inside a faraday cage!
That's a really good looking airplane-mode physical switch, not a phone case. ^_^
My two cents: use this technique to make powerbank cases, that would be awesome!

Creating a site to sell the wonderful objects you build and donating the profits to a childrens cancer hospital is a wonderful idea.
How would I find this site?

I will try to make it soon. I want to help for the hospital build and this is the only way. I have many things that I made to sell. I will have to think how to do this the right way.

Such a pity I'm not on Facebook and don't plan to change this. Maybe I can access Facebook via a friend's account .
Thanks anyway, keep up the good works.

I use it in a big city and the signal is ok, I even use it to talk. I do not use it every day, it has 400grams :)
