I watched a Netflix documentary on Mr. Ferencz a while back, and was amazed at this man's life; all he had done with it and was still doing. We tend to think of 'heroes' as big, tall, physically imposing - all the movie tropes. But this tiny human being managed to bring some of the most evil men of the 20th cent. to account, and his work with the ICC is marred only by countries - like the US - refusing to join. Here, he is absolutely right - war makes otherwise decent people into murderers, and it's far past time we found other means of solving political disputes, shared in resources, and actually respect the humanity within all. War is stupid. God bless this good man, and give him rest. He's earned it.

I've seen the story of him before and what a wise man!! BUT...what he said at the end of this interview blew my mind and brought tears to my eyes: expressing with joy the progress of gender equality and gay rights he witnessed in his long life! WHAT A BEAUTIFUL HUMAN. RIP Ben, You did it well.

"Do you think the man who dropped the nuke is a savage?" Well he certainly shut that attempt at a soundbite down.
Ferencz certainly showed a very wise and measured aspect to each discussion, which definitely shows why he was selected for his roles in one of the most important events to ever occur. He could clearly look past something at face value, and rationale was what percieved from many angles. These qualities are quite often missing from many people, and yet he still had them whilst hitting the 100's.
What an unbelievable life this man lived. I dont envy the horrible images and memories he would have taken to the grave, but i sure admire what he did in one of humanities greatest times of adversity.
