@@Mike__P Theory vs real life. The people who go 10k+ mile oil changes are the same people who whine when they have to pay for engine overhauls/replacement. MAYBE if you only use THE certified factory oil, but most places will use a bulk oil that is "good enough" to meet certain standards. Also, modern engines are usually built with low tension rings, which means a certain amount of oil consumption will be considered normal after a while. I believe everything uses direct injection now, and turbos are common, and these together mean that, especially at long idle periods, fuel may dilute your oil, meaning less lubrication and more wear. Just change your damn oil sooner rather than later.
Thats on you, if they are a regular, or their shop. 75 to 100 bux for an oil change comes with service. Basic safety inspection, ALL fluid levels and condition, brake lining remaining, tread depth, belts hoses lights wipers internal controls and a pending code scan. You don't make money if you don't tell the customer.
@@Fred-F4 Draining and refilling fluid doesnt mess with the washer, only the pinion would affect it. Simply taking off a diff cover or draining fluid wouldnt do anything

You should tell people maintenance intervals and why. Oil changed 5k or less. Transmission 60k antifreeze. Differential transfer case etc.

Newer Toyotas woth synthetic oil are good for 10,000 miles, and that's according to Toyota.

Transmission Fluid is the most neglected. But also brake fluid, power steering fluid has benefits when changed.

Just bearings are shot….. why are you replacing the whole thing, replace pinion bearings and side bearings
Because it is a Carshield claim and I have to do what’s authorized.

@@mails5054 Its called crush washer because it is crushed once you open it. As far as I know they need to be replaced or wait for leakage 🤣

@@mails5054 I have a tranny that leaks a drop from the drain plug after fluid change in an instante oil,so, no, they need to be replaced
I always figured a quick lube place would just suction out the fluid and replace with new, leaving the cover on.
