It’s refreshing to hear honest opinions without a thousand disclaimers ♥️
Hello there… I don’t work for any one or represent any one!!! Thank you for watching and for stoping by…😀
Hehe, I bought the Tarot Vintage exactly because of the muted colours, I really liked them when I watched TH-cam flip throughs, and I really like them in real life. My favourite early autumn deck :D
Hey there…. I think it is wonderful! We are all different and what does not work for one might work for the other!! Thanks for stoping by and for sharing! Enjoy your deck!!!🌈
I enjoy that deck for it's coloring too, and you're right, its perfect for fall! I think the flexible card stock is wonderful to shuffle and it holds up well. I dislike how the antique-coloring of the background is repeated exactly identically on each card. It takes away from the vibe and makes it feel more fake.
@joanb. Hey there… I could not agree with you more… thank you for sharing.
I admit I like the tarot vintage too 😊
I appreciate your honest opinion! Some of the decks you selected for your "regrettable purchases" were on my wish list; thank you for helping me stay within my budget. Off my wish list they go...
Hey there….. I am happy I could help! I must say though, although I personally did not connect with this decks but I am sure others out there have… thank you for sharing.
I’m not trying to make you stray from your budget but while I totally respect his opinions, I have two of these decks (the lovers path and the lost tarot) and I love them, and if I can find bygone tarot I will get it (I don’t have a problem with the card stock on the two decks on this list that I have so I’m willing to give bygone tarot a try since I see that my expectations of card stock and his are different). So..what doesn’t work for one person might for another ❤
@threeofcats5803 hey there…. I could not agree with you more…. We are all different and that is an absolutely wonderful thing. You know I am looking to to find a new home for my Bygone tarot deck and so depending on where you are located I can sell you mine for less than what they offer it on line…. Let me know if this is something that interest you….😀 thank you for watching and sharing.
I appreciate your opinions. The Murder of Crows is one that draws me; I actually find it comforting! We are all so different in our tastes, which are very personal to us and no, I don't use this deck for shadow work. There are decks out there that have an audience of almost 100% of people loving them, and I can't connect with them at all, and will never buy them.
Hey there…. You are totally right…. We are all very different and I love to see that just because I did not connect with a deck it does not mean that some one else will not connect. Thank you for stoping by and for sharing!!
@@MysticRob82 😘
I would love to see video of your top 5 or 10 decks with your favorite cardstock feel ❤
Hello Claudia! 🤯 wow!!! What a great 💡 idea!! I will defenetley take that in to consideration….
I'm glad that you made this video. Very refreshing to hear exactly how someone that works with cards feels and it's not all "oh look how pretty and cute, blah, blah, blah" I do have the Murder of Crows and it's probably one of the darkest decks I have, but I love it just the same. Possibly because crows and ravens are one of my favorites, but it's definitely a straight shooter and will tell you what's what for sure. We are all different for sure. I have a huge collection as well. I think my least favorite is the Tarot Nuages. When I first saw it I thought like you "oh what a cool deck" but after watching several videos I decided it wasn't for me.
Tuck boxes drive me crazy!! They should not put them out for sale, especially in indie decks that cost so much.
I'm going through a witchy/animal phase right now. I do lean more towards Celtic themes, so it's hard to find them. Thank you so much for your time. :)
@@TheScreamingElf hey there….. the murder of crows is defenetly a dark deck, I think the art work is super nice I just could not connect with it and so Tarot….I am hopeful that maybe one day I will connect with it…. I can’t say the same about the Nuages, for that one I am sure I will never connect with it…. Thank you for stoping by and for sharing. 💫👋🏻
@@MysticRob82 I agree, about the Nuages s. I cannot see me ever connecting with that. I would love to see a favorite oracle and tarot from you. I am always interested in what other readers like and why. ❤️
I find the lovers path deck very charming. It is an older deck.
Hey there…. Wonderful comment thank you! 🙏 I love to see that we are all made of different colors and tastes and just because I did not connect with a certain deck does not mean others won’t…. Thank you for stoping by and for sharing.☺️
First of all, I am one of your subscribers. You've really made me think twice about doing a 'regrettable decks' response. I can agree with you about not being able to test cardstock prior to a purchase, but it seems all your other regrets could have been avoided had you taken more time to research your decks before buying. Watch other folks' walkthroughs and listen to them express their opinions. Much of the details and images are shown in channel walkthroughs and usually there are at least a couple different perspectives on different channels.
Your reservations and major concerns or disappointments seemed to be about the box, the cardstock, whether a deck was gilded, if there was a book with it, and the price. These have nothing to do with the actual tarot content. Most reviewers describe the cardstock, although I know description isn't always adequate to tell, but all your other objections could have been avoided if you'd paid particular attention or done your research. I'm not saying you don't have valid opinions about what you like or don't like in a deck, but they're your opinions, and most of the issues could have been avoided by you. You made your choices. Take some responsibility for the choices you made.
I was surprised you didn't even mention two of the concerns I had with the Golden Botticelli, which is a deck I like. One is the numerous languages printed around the borders, While that may be a help to one of the six language customers it's an eyesore to the other five. The other issue I have with Lo Scarabeo art decks is that the work is not by the artist it claims to represent. Those, while looking like Botticelli, are copies of his work by a very good copyist, they are not Botticelli's actual works, though they are represented to be so. When I buy a deck titled after an artist, I want that artist, not someone else's renderings, even if they were well done. They feel like forgery.
As to cardstock, we simply disagree on that. I don't know what kind you like, I expect it's that thick matte stock that is currently so popular. I dislike the heavy stock as it's more like greeting card, postcard, or cereal box stock. I appreciate the thinner more flexible stock reminiscent of original playing card decks. And I loathe that deck publishers are currently listening to folks who like the heavier stock. It's alright for displaying art cards, but for handling, it just doesn't feel reminiscent of handheld and manipulated cards.
As to the Bygone Tarot, it is a deck I've had on my wishlist because I like the mystique of antique-looking decks, and I like those vintage engravings, but there was something about the aesthetics of many of those particular images that just didn't resonate with me. I've decided after looking repeatedly at walkthroughs that I would not be happy with this deck and will wait for someone else to do better.
The Tarot Nuages I also had and passed on. I was initially intrigued by the imagery, particularly the little mushroom characters, but ultimately found the imagery a little too sharp-edged and pointy for my tastes, like razors, thorns or barbed wire. And the coloring was a bit too limited for me. I had to let it go. But I can't blame the deck creators or publishers for those decisions. I diligently watched videos of the imagery beforehand. My purchase was an informed decision.
Sometimes we buy decks with the best intentions, and they just end up not sitting well with us. Your video was quite provocative as you can see as I had so much to respond to. For that, thanks for doing it, even if your opinions seemed a bit harsh and related more to personal taste than production faults.
Thanks for your final tip about cheap decks and potential counterfeits. Laws need to crack down on that, but sometimes you just get what you pay for.
Hey there, first of all thank you 🙏 so much for watching, subscribing and sharing….. I find your response super informative and as much as I tried watching videos to make the right decision before purchasing a deck some times is just a miss for me, you are right about informing my self a bit better before purchasing a deck specially such an expensive one as the Bygone, where I am located I ended up spending about $100 usd after shipping and fees and for that kind of money I feel I was robbed but ok…. We all have different opinions and this are just my personal ones and at the end of the day what does not work for me might work for others or as the saying goes, some people’s garbage is other people’s gold…..I am please to say that I am very careful now more than before when purchasing a new deck…. Maybe I would have learned my lesson by now… thank you again for your wonderful comment and advice….😊
By the way, I am sorry that I did not respond to you comment about the Botticelli deck responded and it makes me mad because abuse I try to answer to every one that writes but for some reason I can’t respond or even find the comments and I think this is a TH-cam problem so I again apologize for not answering.
Agree on the Tarot Nuages. Allow me to add a couple - the Erenberg Tarot (like, get out of my face, you're in my personal space), and the Universal Folk Tarot (depressingly anti-climactic). Great video - refreshing, honest viewpoint.
Hey there!! Thank you for adding a couple more to the list…. I don’t have the universal and I am so glad you mentioned it as I will not be purchasing it…. Thank you for stoping by and sharing.😊
Thanks for honest reviews! It’s sooo disappointing when you really want to love a deck, it’s expensive and then …. Bleah. I feel you, my friend, I feel it too.
Hey there…. It is really not a good feeling! Thank you for watching and for sharing.
your videos are always so comforting and lively - really enjoyed hearing you speak your mind! thanks for the great review ^^
Hey there!! I must say… thank YOU 🙏 for the nice comment, for sharing and for watching, I really appreciate it.😊
That Universal Fox has always looked to interesting to me, I am so glad I watched this! I have been watching and enjoying your videos recently, thank you Rob 💙
Hey again, the Fox 🦊 oracle deck is really not for me and it was expensive to say the least!! Thank you for watching and sharing…🙏
I like Deviant Moon decks, but the quality of their packaging - a cheap tuck box - for the price of Valenza’s decks is really shocking and should be improved.
Hey there! I could not agree with you more!! Thank you for stoping by and sharing and hopefully this video will help people out there make up their mind if this are maybe decks that are for them or not…
Thanks for sharing. I'm new reading Tarot and glad that I didn't buy any of these. Actually, I always buy a deck after watching you or your peers unboxing a Tarot deck. I really appreciate what you do! 🙂
Hi Mary, I am so glad that the video has helped you make a decision when buying a deck, that is exactly why I made the video. Good luck on your journey through taro and let me know if you have a question or concern. Thank you for watching and for sharing!😊
Hello my dear! I found this video very interesting, because usually people are shy to say why they don't like a deck. But as long as you do it in a respectful manner like you did, it's fine and it's useful for others! And I'm saying this although you included one of my favorite decks of all time in your selection 😂 (murder of crows) - but all the reasons why you don't love it are the reasons why I love it! It's really a question of taste I guess 😅
You won a new subscriber 😁 cheers, take care
Hey there….I love when I get a comment like yours as it really makes me realize how different we all are and the fact that one of your favorite decks is the murder of 🐦⬛ crows is for me absolutely wonderful to hear…. I like to thank you for watching sharing and of course for subscribing to the channel….🙏😊 I subscribed to your channel as well…..
@MysticRob82 oh that's lovely, thank you 😊 not sure how easy it might be to follow my videos as they are all in french, but thanks for the support 🧡
Not a problem…. I like to learn French so maybe now is a good time!! 😀
Thanks for the deck reviews, very interesting. I am totally with you on the linen card stock, definitely not a fan at all, I hate how slippery it is…But I also dislike the very thick card stock that is too thick to shuffle, and don’t even get me started on glossy cards lol. Thanks again!
Hey there, I could not agree with you more…. Haaaa card stock such a Dilema!!
Thank you for stoping by and for sharing.☺️
Hi, just curious, what deck has your favorite cardstock? I am always looking for that perfect feel 😊
@@Claudia000 OH MY GOSH, my absolute FAVORITE to shuffle, is the Journey of the Sacred Bee Tarot, Keeper of the Sacred Bee Tarot, and Wisdom of the Sacred Bee Oracle all by Kelly Burton. I have all three and they work AMAZING together. These are MY personal absolute best to touch, shuffle, and listen to…just a dream.
@sharlaanderson2484 hello there… I am so happy to hear that, I don’t have any of those decks so that is something for me to look into to. Thank you for sharing!
I only use jumper cards so slippery cardstock (especially linen) is a must. Thanks gods for Pagan Otherworlds, lol. 😁
Great video! I really enjoyed listening to your choices. I agree on murder of crows, horrible images. Thanks for sharing.
👋🏻 Hi…. I personally find the murder of crows 🐦⬛ not my type of deck but I have gotten other comments wheee people really enjoy it and I love to hear how we are all different….. thanks for stoping by and sharing……☺️
This is an excellent video, thank you so much for making it.
Hey there!!! You are very welcome!!🤗
Thank you so much for a wonderful review..I've been caught several times buying expensive decks that I simply do not like..I've promised myself not to spend over $25 for a deck any more. I agree with all of your reviews except the Blaco Nero deck..and thats because I was the sexy model for most of the cards lololol
Hey there…. Well then…. You must be very popular…😎
@@MysticRob82 🤣😂🥰
I love the Trionfi della Luna, but it does not love me back. It wont speak to me. It's a dead thing. Also, it feels very much like Make Playing Cards cardstock which is fine...but not for the price.
On the other hand, the Murder of Crows speaks very loudly. I always get clear concise messages from it and I love the book to pieces. The short sentences are perfect and succinct to me. It just resonates with me I guess.
It's so interesting to see how decks read or don't read for each person - great video!
Helio there… we are all different and it is super interesting to see how some decks will speak to some of us and others won’t….. thanks for sharing.🤗
Thanks for your honest assessments! I think as you mentioned it's very personal so someone's favorite deck may not work for another. I don't have most (any?) Of these but have been tempted. Now I have a better understanding! The trionfi de luna is interesting because it see them posted so often oh 2nd hand market places (so I think may people have a similar experience as you) but they they get snatched up at such absurd prices!!! The murder of crow tarot I have to agree with its darkness. It feels very unbalanced to me (Dark for the sake of darkness) but I know it's very beloved. That's totally fine and what makes the gamut of decks so wonderful! Thanks for this again. I feel so many videos focus on the top/must haves and then provoke this sense of fomo and people rush to get it. I really appreciate videos that focus on what didn't work.
Hey there KarmicPath, My only hope is that this video helps others make the right choice before they go ahead and purchase some of this very expensive decks. I see so many reviews on line where people praise some of this decks and I am not sure if maybe they are getting paid to say that or if it really is their honest opinion? I am not being sponsored by any of this companies so I can tell you exactly what my thoughts are. At the end of the day this is just my opinion and just because I did not connect with this decks it does not mean that others won’t connect with them either. Thank you for stoping by and for sharing! 🙏
Patrick Valenza's decks were the first ones I thought of on the topic, for the card stock alone!
Hey there….i think Patrick’s decks have absolutely wonderful art work and that is why I will keep the deck but everything else about the deck is not for me….
I really appreciate videos like this. I do have 3 versions of Trionfi Della Luna...which I love. I didn’t pay full price because I chose “bumped-box” decks so it was more affordable. I always order my decks directly from Patrick Valenza’s website. I do have Murder Of Crows Tarot ...but never reach for it...except maybe in October (Halloween). I just gave my copy of Tarot Vintage to my sister two weeks ago. I love the artwork of Pamela Colman Smith, but I’m not a fan of RWS style tarot decks. I much prefer TdM and pip decks in general. Tarot Nuages has piqued my interest...I love quirky decks.😊
Hey there…. And o appreciate people like you that watch and kindly share…. Thank you 🙏.
@@MysticRob82 I just found your channel...and subscribed.😊
@@cre8ive_intentions hey there! Thank you soo much I appreciate that very much! I hope to meet your expectations and thank you for stoping by and sharing….☺️
Thanks Rob for your video. I have two of your decks One The Lost tarot is one of my favourite decks, I really connected with it and the other is The Murder of crows Tarot , I love the images but havent used it as yet. I Have The Deviant Moon Tarot nd I find it hard to conect with his Art work, but I think I will keep it because I never know🤗
Hi there…. This video was hard to make cause this is just my personal opinion and we are all different and while this decks did not work for me they do work for others….thank you for stopping by and for sharing!☺️
I agree with your take on Murder of Crows. The darkness irked me the moment I saw it for the first time. Like the Giger deck. If you like crows, and if you don't have it already, do have a look at Cullinane's Crow Tarot. It's a delightful deck, good stock, printing and quite affordable 😊
Great tip…. I will look at it right away… thank you for watching and sharing.💫💫
interesting video, thank you. You can't tell about paper stock before you buy a deck. But I rarely buy a deck just from looking at it online. I always go to a metaphysical store or a book store so i can look at the packaging and feel the vibe by handling the box. When in doubt, I do a quick online search for pics or reviews ✨.
Hey there… great advice just not available for me in my area so I am forced to buy them without looking.
Whew, thank goodness you didn't have any of my favorites on this list! When I saw the title, my immediate thought was: I will just die if Rob dislikes a deck that I use.
I try to keep my collection low, but I have a few that I'm keeping that I just don't connect with because, I don't know, I can probably think of excuses to keep them around but they are excuses. But it's the Occult Tarot by Travis Mchenry and the Tarot of Mystical Moments by Catrin Welz-Stein. Oh, and I got the Hay House version of The Light Seekers tarot by Chris Anne (I'm not sure what the difference is between the original and the Hay House, but I remember reading somewhere like 4 or 5 years ago that the original was superior)
I like the whole presentation of the Occult Tarot, but I get a headache when I work with it.
The Tarot of Mystical Moments is glorious and beautiful, but something about it doesn't work for me. I really wish it did. Plus as much as I enjoy gender representation, having to dig through to find the Male and Female versions of the same cards to remove before a reading, just kinda, I don't know I don't enjoy. Maybe it's because I haven't connected with the male or the female versions because of having to remove them and replace them. I suppose I could just keep them in, but then how would you read a male King of Swords and a female King of Swords in the same reading?? And that would be my luck, I'd be staring down at the reading completely lost - nobody wants a lost tarot reader.
Lastly, The Light Seeker, I just don't vibe with. It's like it's too hippie dippie, like it's trying too hard to be relevant or something, I don't know.
Hey there…. Wow, I love that you shared your list with me and honestly I love the fact that we are all different and I like that some of the decks I did not identify with are the same decks that some people ❤️ love… Thank you for stoping by and thank you for sharing…..☺️ By the way I love the Tarot of Mystical moments…..😅 you see in the end we are all different… what I did with my deck is I took the female characters out and replace them with the male ones and that is the way my deck always stays…..As they say, some people’s garbage is other people’s Gold…🤗
It's always interesting how we all resonate differently with decks, Mystical Moments is my most used and favourite deck
@MysticRob82 I really want to love the Mystical Moments deck, and I may just take the females out and see if that helps. I almost feel like a failure because as someone who strongly identifies as female, I can't seem to wrap my mind around the female king archetype. I almost have this same issue, though not as acute, with the Intuitive Night Goddess Tarot by Linzi Silverman X Eye of Astro. It has zero male representation. I think the kings are called Spirit, and so it helps with my interpretation of these cards as like the purest form or essence of the energy. With that being said, I've never used this deck in a reading with another person because it's lacking male representation. To me, it feels incomplete. I have used it in personal shadow work because sometimes I just need to know about my own dark feminine energy.

I really appreciate your video, I think not many people want to openly talk about deck regrets. ❤ I will subscribe right away.
One of my biggest disappointments is an indie black and whiteTarot. I used it for a while but I hated both the size and the cardboard quality PLUS one day I bought a vintage Tarot (not so well-known) and lo and behold: three of the cards in this deck were identical with the ones in the indie Tarot, down to suit and number! only they were coloured and the size of some elements in the card varied a bit, otherwise it was a copycat case. I checked and the vintage tarot had been published many years before the indie one was released, so the indie "artist" clearly stole the art😢. I carefully checked other decks and could see that indeed some of their cards had also been appropriated or had been used as the starting point for the design. Plagiarism is a big no no for me... I contacted the authors of the legit deck but they didn't answer, although I enclosed the pictures comparing the cards. I guess they didn't want to get involved in a copyright feud or just didn't care. That's why I'm not disclosing names either.
My other minor peeves are:
Tarot of the Sidhe awful paper quality, I LOVE the deck though, it's very clear and deep, and I appreciate the art, especially with so much AI generated design around lately.
And the fact that decks.vary so much in size.
I love creating magpie/patchwork/mismatched decks and the different sizes make shuffling too awkward.
Hey there…. I wish I would have had some honest guidance before buying some of this decks. I saw many reviews on line before purchasing them and the reviews were all praising the decks and so I thought that it would be ok to go ahead. I have learned my lesson now and on very careful before I make a purchase. Thank you very much for subscribing to the channel and thank you for sharing! 😊
The Botticelli is one of my favourites but I still appreciate your opinion. Cardstock doesn't play a role for me, only in extreme cases do I even notice it. It reads very well for me, and I'm sorry that you are disappointed.
The artist (Atanassov?) didn't paint in oils, he copied Botticelli in coloured pencils, and this modest, transparent medium may put you off. It can't really compete with Botticelli's tempera on wood with its opaque glory. But for me, it works somehow.
Hello there…. I love to read messages like this one… we are all different and it is wonderful to see. Yes I did not connect with the Botticelli unfortunately but I still will keep it in my collection as I find the printing to be ok and the colors really stand out. Thank you so much for stoping by and for sharing!!!!😊
I am wondering what you find expensive. My cut off for expensive is anything over €35,-. Cheap is under €21,-. Average these days is anything in between.
Hey…. Expensive is over $75 us for me….
as I am a beginner I bought view of this cheap decks as I do not feel to sorry by using and learning with them (even for trying different shuffling etc.) As don´t want to "kill" the more expensive ones just for learning.
But there always some sales in bookstores which makes it more affordable to buy good decks. Also my latest finding sometimes at tjmaxx they have quite interesting decks for a good price (oracle and tarot). As I am someone who dont want to buy the chinese duplicates (like in temu etc.) I think it is still important that the creator gets some money. But still do not judge people by doing so.
Thank you for sharing.
OMG, i just came across with your video, after finishing creating a video of my worst decks hahaha😂😂😂 it’s still uploading, and I only did it in Spanish, I’m glad that I’m not the only one that complains of her decks hahah. I might do a VR in English for this video! 😊 thanks for sharing your thoughts!!
You are very welcome! I think it is very important to not only talk about the decks we like but it is also important to talk about the decks we don’t connect with! Thank you for stoping by and for sharing…. Apropió Spanish… I have been thinking about doing a channel in Spanish for tarot but have not gotten around it… there is a such a huge Spanish market… it is just sooo much work.. I will check out your channel and subscribe.
Not sure that spreading your personal dislike is helpful. Your personal views are actually irrelevant. The reason I dislike TH-cam.
Hey there, the wonderful thing about TH-cam is that you can choose to watch or not and you chose to watch my video and for that I am very thankful. Thank you for watching and for sharing. Merry Christmas!🎄
A self care oracle cards, the pictures do not make sense at all. great video
Hey there, thank you for saying that….The art work was really confusing to me… I could not correlate one thing with the other…🤯. Thank you for stoping by and sharing.
Are you sure they aren't counterfeit? I heard a lot that tuck boxes with pdf codes is a huge red flag for counterfeit decks
I promise I wrote that before you said you got it from the creator directly 😂. But I m going to leave it up so the algorithm sees engagement 😊
Hey Rebecca, yea!! I really try to buy my decks directly from the publishers or from the creators directly…. I have had many instances of counterfeit decks and I have learned my lesson by now and I feel like I am helping the creators save a bit of money when buying directly with them… thanks for watching and for sharing.🤗
I really enjoyed your video, thank you. So funny that a deck I love is on your list, Tarot Vintage. I only have one 'regrettable purchase', The Bohemian Gothic Tarot, I didn't really understand the 'cold foiling' or 'cold stamping' and the deck is unusable for me, an expensive mistake.
Hey there Jon, I really love when this happens…. Just cause I did not connect with the vintage deck it does not mean that others would not connect with it…. Wonderful to see how we are all different!! Thank you for sharing and for stoping by….☺️
Totally agree.
Thank you ,
Great video ❤
Thank you for stoping by and sharing!
Murder of crows is wonderfully art. ❤ but I love crows so
Hey there…. It is very interesting art work!! Thank a for sharing and stoping by….🌈
This was great! I am not a Patrick Valenzia fan, not my art style. I have the Mildred Payne oracle deck and like that one, but none of his tarot decks. Regarding some of the gushing over decks that it seems everyone does, I wonder sometimes if they are gushing over them because 1. The decks were given for free to give a review, and 2. The creator is well known or a friend of the reviewer. Maybe people are afraid to give a bad review, or no review. I've never heard or seen the Tarot Nuages before. One deck that I don't like that it seems everyone likes is Light Seers. The mini deck read better for me than the full size, but I still rarely use it. I think it is geared more for young people. I'm 62 and couldn't relate to the images. I don't hate it, I just don't get what everyone sees in it.
Hey there!!! Thank you soooo much for sharing! I could not agree with you more… when I first started with tarot I guided my self by many of the reviews that I saw on TH-cam and I regret doing that… I had no idea that many of the reviewers where being sponsored by some of this companies and or they had some close relationship with the creator of the deck…. I am not sponsored by any one and my reviews are clean and honest….. I have the Light seers deck as well and I barely touch it and like you I have no idea what the race is all about…. Thank you for sharing.😊
I think some (not all!!!) people also just are like "I want to be tough, and I'm a witch, and I want to be one of the really cool ones, and therefore I need to buy, show and like creepy dark tarot decks. And if I can't, I need to fake it, until I can".
And then, with the lightseers, I so agree.... and I'll never buy it. Everybody says it's relatable, but where I live, nobody looks like this, or lives like this. For me this looks as somebody's fantasy self "California - dream - lifestyle-deck" (before the "disillusion" of reality is setting in. )
@khan7459 hello there…. We are all different and we should be respectful of other people’s choices…..this video is just my humble opinion of this decks and while they did not appeal to me they do however appeal to many other people and I find that absolutely wonderful! Thank you for stopping by and for sharing….🌈 Diversity is a wonderful thing and we should all embrace it with open arms.
@@MysticRob82 yes, I agree, but I can see in hindsight, that maybe my comment didn't sound so nice.... and I apologise if anybody feels offended. It was not meant offensive, just what I personally sometimes feel about some things. I agree that everybody should of course make their own choices.
My own deck choices might not be everybody's preference either.
I find your video very interesting, because it makes me think about what I might be disappointed in a deck, and reassess my wishlist with my "no-criteria" in mind (and save me money).
@@khan7459 hey there….I totally understand where you are coming from and I really like to read that this video has been able to help you with choosing some of your next decks…. Thank you so much for sharing and I hope to hear from you again soon!! 🤗
It happened to me when I purchased tarot of the Vampyres, I was so excited. and it was soo awful 😞 I just wanted to connect with that deck but no! I just couldn’t. The images were not appealing and the energy was not right. I just ended re homing the deck.
That happened to me with that deck also. It's in my donation pile for my next trip to Goodwill, lol!
@@NYCHFAN right? How is this even possible, everyone loves it and such good reviews I saw. But it is not for everyone 😅😆 greetings 👋
Nely there!! Thank God you mentioned that deck as I thought about purchasing it many times…. I am so glad I never did. Thank you for sharing!!
I hate it, too. 😂
Same! Same!
I really like the Lost Tarot, but I do agree about the card size and the borders. It is hard to handle. I wish creators would not make decks that are too big for people to handle. I like Bianco Nero for relationship readings. It's sexy but not too sexy. For instance Eros Tarot by UUSI is way to explicit for me. I am not a lover of US Games card stock in general. I really dislike the card stock of Tarot of the Abyss, but I love the deck. I can't get on board with any PV decks. They are just too weird for me. Tarot Nuages is too weird too. Thanks for your video.
Hey there, thank you so much for sharing about your experience with some of this decks. We are all different and what does not work for some works for others. Thank you for stoping by and have a wonderful weekend!🙏
Tarot vintage looks moldy. I have such books - there was mold in my old apartment and they caught it there. Then I dried them, but the color of the pages now is exactly the same.
Hello there…. Thank you for stoping by and sharing…. What and interesting story…. Amazing that the cards look exactly the same!!!🤞🏻
Now I dont feel so bad about not liking some of my decks!
Hello there….. it is really nice to get comments from both side of the spectrum… some people agree with some of my selection of this decks and for some others some of this decks are people’s favorites….. we are all different.
I coloured my Tarot Vintage in all the brightest shades with Sharpies - now I'm really happy with it 😊
Hey there…. That’s what is all about if you ask me…. To be HAPPY 😊. Thank you for watching and for sharing.
i appreciate your time! im sorry that you have so many decks that you dont love / connect with.
Hey there…. The positive side of it is that I have many more that I do connect with…. Thank you for watching and sharing….
I regret getting the Tarot of the Unexplained. The empress was la llorona. The image was part of the marketing material so it was my own fault.
Hey there…. I don’t think it’s your fault, some times we don’t really get a full spectrum of the deck until it seats on our 🙌 hands….
Thank you for sharing and for stopping by….
The Bohemian Gothic Tarot. I got the fourth edition and some of the cards are just comically bad (like the death card). The cards they show online are gorgeous. Also, for the price point I’d expect gilding, but no. We’re just not vibing until now.
Hey there…. I am not familiar with the Bohemian Gothic Tarot…. I am definitely going to check it out…. Thank you for stoping by and for sharing…☺️
Im so glad I didn’t get The Lost Tarot after seeing this!
Hey there… I wish I would of saved my money! Thank you for watching and sharing!.😊
Might the disappointing Trionfi della Luna deck be one of the counterfeit knockoffs from China? Deviant Moon posted a blog entry about these fake decks on March 29, 2023 titled "Counterfeit Decks." That may answer the problem with the card stock quality.
Hey there, unfortunately it is not the case. I bought my deck directly from them.
Thank you for stoping by and sharing!
I love my Trionfi Della Luna - Illustrated pips Edition. Card stock… meh. Tuck box…meh. But the art sings to me and the deck speaks loud and clear, as well as enigmatically and with subtlety.
What I really don’t understand is why one would buy a pip deck when you say “i don’t like pip decks, the art doesn’t speak to me” 🧐🤷♀️ I just don’t get it. Were you expecting another rws clone? Did you not know it was pips? Oh wait… you did. 😅 regarding no booklet, yeah…they could have tried. But the thing with pip decks is they are not rws decks - they’re essentially TdM, and TdM traditionally does not have a lwb. Possibly that was the reasoning? I honestly don’t know.
Same for Murder of Crows - I’ve seen I just sales images, and already knew it was a no for me. Why on earth did you even buy it? My friend, impulse control!! 🥴🤣
Personally, I love linen card stock and the glide it gives. It’s classy. It’s also usually thinner because it is actually stronger and harder wearing. I hate the modern shift to that awful thick card stock that feels like it was cut from recycled food packaging.
But I do understand that preferences for how a deck feels in your hands is extremely personal, and appreciate your video not shying away from what turns you off a deck.
I feel you on paying $100 dollars for a deck that comes in a tuck box… just received one that was nearly that, and almost double with shipping to my location - but for me, the quality of the deck materials and the stunning art make up for it… sort of 😂
Thanks for sharing - it was great to watch. Have to say I must spend much longer being sure before I buy a deck - a side effect of having to convert a third world currency to $ or € plus super pricey international shipping.
Hey Piper, I have many decks that are pip decks but don’t mind them… true pips are not my thing but when the card stock and the drawings meet my expectations I don’t seem to mind them very much…. But with the luna deck nothing worked out, the paper stock, the drawings, the colors etc and so I guess I was fulled by the allure and all the reviews I saw on line, every one loves this deck, except me I guess😅. Murder of the crows I thought was going to be my thing but I just can’t even work with it….. hey, thank you for stoping by and for sharing!!☺️
The worst deck I ever bought was Gay Tarot. It made me want to go to conversion therapy
Hey there…. I looked in to that one a couple of times and it here convinced me enough to spend the money…. Thanks for reaffirming my decision.🌈
I like your videos alot
Hey Laura, what can I say other than…. Thank you 🙏 so much for watching and for sharing….☺️ I enjoy making the videos very much and I am happy that you and others are enjoying….

Todo es relativo pero si algunos tarots que muestras no son tarots
Hola…. Si todo es relativo! Todos los mazos que presentó son de Tarot. Gracias por pasar por aquí y por compartir.
I purchased three decks from Dark Synevyr (publisher of the Golden Path Tarot you mentioned at the end) and everything about them--tuck box, cardstock, printing quality--was awful.
Hey there…. It is one of the worse tarot decks I have aver purchased!! Thank you for sharing!
Hi Rob, thanks for doing this video. I can't say enough about rushing into purchases and not amassing a huge library too quickly. I say to all my tarot students - slow down! Work with a few decks and resist the temptation to buy, buy, buy.
The only deck I have of these is Trionfi della Luna. It is meant for those who read in the Tarot de Marseille tradition and if you did a side-by-side with a Tarot de Marseille deck, you may appreciate it more. It is probably my least favourite contemporary Marseille.
As for counterfeit decks, don't get me going. I. did a video recently called 😡 STOP! STOP RIGHT NOW BUYING COUNTERFEIT TAROT & ORACLE DECKS! 🤬 Hopefully, it will also provide education on how prolific they are.
I had the collectible version of Murder of Crows but sold it as I found it so disturbing.
@@IntegrativeHealingwithSadhana hello Sadhana, thank you sooo much for sharing! I wish I would have been one of your students and had listened to you….i am going to check out your video and your channel. 🌈
OMG that deck in 8th position is borderline print paper quality -- yiiikes!! 😐
Hey there, I was not impressed! Thanks for sharing!
@@MysticRob82 I can see why!! For me it would be the Dark Wood Tarot. I Love it! But the cardstock is sooo thin! I'm afraid to use it! Gorgeoous box, gorgeous book but... printer paper quality!
Love this video. I dislike some of the same decks you do it. Although I do like tarot nuages. I like their weird fairy/alien world. This was great to watch. Thank you 😊
Hey there, you are super welcome. Thank you for stoping by and for sharing!
I had gotten the Tarot of Unknown Shadows which is a Dark Synevyr deck also on a website that says it’s their site. Same thing a 70.00 marked down on sale for about 25.00. I have wanted this deck when I first saw it and honestly when it came in I wrote to them and got no response. It is a knock off. It is horribly made. Terrible printing and card stock. The box is cheap too and looks like the ones you are showing
Hey there!! Thank you for sharing your experience, this comments really help others out there to not make the same mistakes we made!!🤩
I also fell hard for Unknown Shadows. First deck I purchased was the real deck. I liked it so much, I wanted a back up copy.. so I got burned by the knock off deck. Had a conversation with the creator and they were full of sh@t, told me that the knock off was from their "new printer". The quality was absolute TRASH. I recently saw the creator Dark Synevr has a new kickstarter... Buyers beware!!!!!! Total fraud. 😡
@Devoted_Divination hello there…. Thank you for the heads up!!!
@@Devoted_Divination I don’t believe that it’s a new printer. I think they bought a bunch of the knock off decks, which they are and are selling them as authentic.
All this does is say that they aren’t reputable or to be trusted
@aliceglass6141 hey there…. I can’t really say with certainty…. What I can say is that I have learned my lesson🥹 but the hard way!!
I loved your video and how unapologetic you are, I didnt like any of them, perhaps the Vintage Tarot🔮
Hey there, the vintage tarot is a beloved deck and I felt kind of weird to criticize it but I am all about giving my honest opinion. Thank you for stoping by and for sharing.
The Lo Scarabeo cardstock on Murder of Crows is horrible. It is way worse than the old style cardstock. It may feel better in the beginning but with frequent use it does not hold up at all. The old style cardstock, like on the Botticelli deck holds up way better.
Hey there…. You are not the first one I hear say that about the Murder of Crows card stock…
Thank you for sharing.🙏
I hate the cardstock on Murder of Crows, and not only that but the printing is not actually black and white, it leans very green and it bothers me so much I can't look at it. Lo Scarabeo should have better color rendition than that. I feel like it wasn't worth the money I spent.
@joanb. Hey, murder of crows is not my type of deck…. Thank you for sharing….
I so agree with you about that Murder of Crows. How awful to see the 9 of cups and the Fool so sad!
Hey there…. For some reason I thought it was a sad depiction of those two…. But maybe for others it it just the perfect depiction…. We are all different and that is what makes the world go round. Thank you for watching and sharing.🙂
