  • Rahul Jadhav is a rising star in India’s marathon community. He has competed in many events and he also runs for charity. Rahul is also a vocal advocate of sobriety and is a counsellor by profession. However, this isn’t what his life looked like a decade back. Rahul was introduced to the infamous Mumbai underworld in his teens and he quickly rose up the ranks of crime. From laundering vast sums of money, to criminal intimidation, and arms’ dealing, he did it all. His name was associated with some of India’s most dreaded gangsters. How did this man, who was also an addict, change his life? This is the story of this episode of Bad Blood, VICE Asia’s ongoing series looking at crime and criminals via a unique lens.

Honestly, about 7 years ago at the age of 16, while watching Indian crime TV shows I noticed that there were too many scenes where the criminal is shown as running on foot to escape the cops. I would think to myself that such a good runner should be utilized in sports. And here it is. I never thought that there would have been a real scenario where this would have materialized.
great to know something close to that has happened .

Meeting one's past victims to beg for forgiveness takes character. You have to end your ego.
This man has learned more from one rough life than many of us do in our prosperous, smooth lives.
Maybe as he gets older he will learn some form of meditation, so that when he cannot run with his body, he can still discipline his mind and be the upright citizen he has now become.
Congratulations to everyone involved in his reform process. Muktangan is clearly doing things correctly.
The law is so often about revenge, whereas true justice is about reform.

Great inspiring story! HAT'S off to Muktangan work and Muktatai and dr. Anil Awachat. The love and sympathy shown to patient and trust in their work is amazing. Because of such people the society is sane to some extent.

I highly appreciate the mother's thought. Accepting the money earned by one kg mature, wow....we need such mothers.

One requires guts to share the real experiences..
