Urbex: SKETCHY Abandoned House

  • เผยแพร่เมื่อ 24 ต.ค. 2013
  • Exploring a dilapidated house that appears to have been abandoned since 1986 according to the calendar. A date on a newspaper inside dates back to 1952. I suspect the property is owned by a local farmer as they've maintained the yard around the house, but have left the house to rot. I don't see any signs of vandalism but nature is definitely reclaiming her.

    i'm so glad that there wasn't any vandalism in this house, and that old furniture and other things are still in their place.. It's just nice to see old buildings in their ''original'' state

    I always think how beautiful these home were when they were brand new and how happy the people were when they moved in for the first time. I always wonder too what happened that the people left and had to abandon their home. So sad !

    Most cool! I would not be able to control myself from looking in the boxes and the trunk and the other cool places I saw! I could spend all day looking through this stuff and be just as happy as a squirrel in a peanut factory! Great video, thanks for the adventure!

    Hard for me to understand that someone will care enough to keep the property maintained, but at the same time allow the poor house to stand alone to decay like that. The way boxes were set about packed with items looks as if they were going with them, then something happened and they were left. Strange and sad. Thanks again for finding this and sharing. Great job as usual!

    These videos are fascinating.. A story told within a story..
    Like the vandalized ones, the vandalism itself sort of tells it's own story, and the non-vandalized ones tell a story if things are left behind, etc.

    I loved this one. This is the kind that has always intrigued me. The ones I would see as a child, when we were on a family vacation. I would just imagine the people who once lived there. In this one I could not help but think about someone purchasing that toaster as a brand new addition to their kitchen.

    Those televisions alone may have been worth something to a collector. Very old indeed!! That cauldron I'm sure was worth something as well, it looked to be in pretty good shape too. I can't help but get the feeling that the people that lived there were older folks and maybe the lady passed first because of all the Men's belongings (hat, clothes, tools..etc) that was left behind, but no women's items, the wall paper looks like a style a woman (Many years ago) either had put up or put up herself?? I don't know for sure, just saying that, that's the way it looked to me.

    10 straight hours watching Pam's vids on a rainy/ snowy crappy day. One thought train : owners get old. They don't like change or being a burden. They are forgotten and they die. Family feels like crap and some try to pack up keepsakes and then what to do with the stuff that's outdated? Reality sets in. Cost money to store in storage. Guilt fades. Family lets it go. OUt of sight Out of mind. Then you watch "storage wars" tv and the ones that tried to save some belongings just let it all go . Life is hard.

    @TikiTrex  10 ปีที่แล้ว

    No, that was the window frame looking to the front of the house. It was directly to the left of the large headboard and appeared to be made by two pieces of barn boards giving the appearance of a door at first glance. It was a very compact house. Thanks for commenting.

    TikiTrex, Thank you for sharing...As a kid, I use to go into old houses, never a worry.Be careful...I like that you do not damage anything or take anything. Dates are really interesting finds. What I don't get, is how can houses be left with belongings still there. Mystery of no one left to care?

  • @rotorcats
    @rotorcats 10 ปีที่แล้ว

    Now that was top notch exploration! Loved how you used the door as a bridge! I could see myself doing that too lol. That must have been a common design for farm houses in Canada as I've seen. The sharp single peak in the front of the roof and like a more narrow side profile. It does make this type of house look more eerie for some reason. The farm houses in western Pennsylvania where I'm from never have that peak and they are more of a two story square shape.

    Hey Craig, I generally do check out cupboards and drawers because I want to know what's in them, but because of the holes in the floors in the back of the house, I was not feeling confident in the structure as a whole. So I did not want to walk around too much and stayed close to the perimeters. I've been exploring for a long time without any problems. I do take the appropriate safety measures. :)
