The reason I get down about playing really good players is I feel like my decisions and presence aren't creating any sense of trepidation on their part. They can defend everything I throw and pressure fearlessly at the slightest sign of backing off. By the end I feel like I wasted their time because it wasn't really a fight, they were just slapping around someone they had no reason to respect. What I really want is a fight where maybe I haven't gotten in their head but we're at an even enough level to where they feel like they need to learn what I do to fight back. You have some presence and can instill a sense of unease. Fighting opponents who don't even need to feel you out because they're just so above your level that none of your knowledge even factors into their gameplan is when I'm not having fun. I would say TMM's opponent here is actually better at the game than he is but it's not such a disparity that he doesn't even need to consider what he's up against. He has to take calculated risks and make decisions. Those seem to turn out right most of the time, hence the difference in ability, but that the threat of what he's fighting is still there.

As a newish Tekken Player (been playing casually since T2 but never consistently and not since T5) I ADORE Mishima matches. Fought against a Jin with my Kaz for like 90 mins straight a few days ago. Super evenly matched and I learned so much about movement and patience, both of which I was severely lacking in. I'm getting too dman addicted to T7.
