@@MikeYanda as of today I have 2117 followers. In less than a week. Biggest take, take advantage of the FYP and comment and engage with content in your niche. 2. Stick to one niche not to confuse algorithm. 3. Follow content creators of your niche and look at their well performing videos and remake almost the same thing. Use of hashtags to let algorithm know you. I’m posting 2 times a day and I’m doing so so well.
Hey Mike, thank you so much for sharing these tips with us. I've taken a bunch of notes and am ready to get started. I just wanted to ask this question. When we start out, we plan to make 3-4 posts per week over the first four weeks. They are probably going to be in the 55-60-second category, and our goal is to make the videos dynamic, compelling, and engaging so that we can make sure we are hitting at least 50% user watch time. My question is this: Even though we are not posting every day, is 3-4 times per week enough to at least warm up the account and help TikTok categorize us? Will we still have a good chance of going viral even if we aren't posting every day?
Unfortunately it’s not. You really need to be posting daily as the minimum to see success on TikTok. And like I said on the video I wouldn’t recommend starting with longer video no matter how good your editing is. You can do those videos 3-4 times per week, but make sure you also have 7 second style video for 3-4 more videos each week until you get momentum.
Hi Mike, another question. You had mentioned (in another video I think) that you should stay with the same hashtags. There are so many hashtag choices, especially when you're in a niche like writer/author which has double the amount of hashtag possibilities since you can use "writer" as the core or "author" as the core. How do we narrow down on the best ones?
You’ll need to experiment to see what works for you, but the point of the hashtags is to signal what your content is about so the algorithm knows who to show it too. So I would primarily focus on Topic and Audience for hashtags. Mostly topic. Your cornerstone hashtag should be the umbrella term. So for me that’s Social Media Marketing. Because then it doesn’t matter if I talk TikTok growth, monetization, paid advertising, those are all aspects of social media marketing. It’s the link between all the things.
So creator account or business? In this video you say stick to creator, in your other “things I wish I had known” video you say use a business account… Does it matter? Thanks in advance 🙏🏾
stuck on this one myself. if we go to private we lose our business link. plus i'm already registered as a business and don't want to be shut off again.
This is by far the best video with practical information I've seen so far! Thank you so much! I'm glad I found your channel. I'm going to try everything you said.
Wow! This was great! I just started my tiktok 2 weeks ago and upload at least once a day. It’s slow growth but I’m having fun 😊 Question: my For you has not changed since following 20 accounts. Should I follow more?
Good question. Once you have followed the accounts spend a few minutes on your Following Page watching and engaging with videos, then go to your FYP and click "not interested" on videos that aren't in your niche, engaging and watching with ones that are. Do that for 5-10 minutes, then close the app, re-open it and check your FYP. Keep repeating that until you are seeing niche videos in your FYP. It usually only takes 10-15 minutes.
Hi Mike, You are simply amazing! You,ve made my day the way you analysed and explained things with learnedness - intelligent, persuasive and factual. Thanks so much! I'm going rightaway to check my Tiktok account and make amends where necessary based on your super simple light you have provided. Will get back to you, great man.
27:15 great video thanks. One confusing thing: watched another of your vids (more recently posted) where you said we SHOULD switch to business account. In this one, you say DON’T switch to business (remain creator account). Did I get that wrong? Or did your advice change between this vid and the later one?
If you go back that’s actually not what I say. (That video has caused some confusion unfortunately) What I was saying is that if you see “switch to business” account it means you have a personal account. That’s how you know you have the right one. You don’t want to press that button.
I misunderstood in the previous video I watched, I thought you had recommended switching to a business account!! I made sure that was the first setting I turned on 😭 Is there a way to fix this, or do I have to start from square one again?
Hey Mike! Thank you for this helpful video. I do have a question. I’ve never been on TikTok and I’m now ready to give it a go. Does it matter if I start posting day 1 or can I get the hand of things as a viewer/researcher for awhile before I start making content?
Thanks for sharing this video! It was really helpful and insightful. I just started my TikTok journey two weeks ago, and these tips gave me some great ideas to kickstart my profile. Your enthusiasm and clear explanations made it enjoyable to watch. Looking forward to implementing these tips and watching my TikTok grow!
Love the video! Getting ready to implement! I’ve been posting three times a day for the past two weeks and I’m stuck at the 200 to 300 view range… That’s how I found you! I have not niched down. I am an entrepreneur and have talked about multiple different things on my TikTok, and posts depending on the day. I’m going to correct this, however should I start a new TikTok from scratch or do you think I can go with what I have and just correct my for you page and content posting?
Wow!! Thanks a lot for sharing this useful piece without demanding for money. I caught a strike yesterday because I posted a video that didnt go well with them. Do I have any chances of succeeding with the account or should I start all over??
If you've already started your tiktok account and only posted a few videos so far, is it ok to now switch off those security features to limit friends from other platforms and only honest followers or would you just start another account?
Mike just started my tik tok channel 2 weeks ago. Got some decent views (few thousand) on first few vids but am Plateauing at the moment. Wish I would have seen this before. Regardless thank you! Going to grind this out! It’s a process
I've got two questions. (1) I started my account in february but I've dicovered your channel recently. Do you think it is better to reset the account and follow your steps from the beginning or I can still train the alrgorithm right now on my current account? (2) I create content in english but, I'm actually italian and live in italy so many "For You" tiktoks comes from italian accounts; Does my geogrephic position affects the alrgorithm?
Thank you for your content ! I’ve already started an account before watching this video. Should I start a new tik tok from scratch or just apply these techniques to the one I already have.
Question! I have like 5 videos but I've been using my account for years. I also accidentially had it on a business account for a few days because I didn't realize it would mess me up. Would it be worth making a new account?
Great video! Just subscribed. One question: If I would post something that isn't on my self, should I then take content from others or should I create my own content and with my own ideas?
Appreciate your content! thank you I have learned so much! I have one question: Should we open the analytics from the beginning or wait until we are eligible for the rewards program ?
Hi Mike, How are you? Quick question for you! If I set up my account, follow all the steps but spend day one using those accounts I started to follow to help create content and don't actually post until day 2, will that go against me in terms of my videos been pushed out? Thank you Susan
Great video! Thanks so much. I have a question. You said to follow and like content of accounts in your niche but what if they aren't your target audience? For example, i will follow my competitors in the event entertainment industry but I want my content to be viewed by mums of young daughters and event planners. How do I program the algorithm to target my chosen audience and not my competitors?
Hi Mike. Thank you so much for the info you put out here. This is basically the only video I’ve found on TH-cam that offers relevant strategies. Appreciate you. My question is I started my account a little while ago and it’s been synced to my contacts and fb friends and I’ve followed a bunch of totally irrelevant accounts.. so considering I only have a couple of hundred followers, is it better to start fresh with another account and do everything right from the beginning or just do what you’re saying and keep going?
It doesn’t matter. Whatever you prefer. I always recommend just using these strategies on your current account first since you already have a few hundred followers toward that 1k to get your link in bio. You can update your settings and optimize your follows and FYP pretty easily and everything adjusts quickly. So usually if you just implement the strategies consistently you’ll see results pretty quickly.
Great Video. I have few questions: 1-If I already have a Tiktok account with low followers and views, can I apply now recommendations and continue or I should create new one? 2-I usually take video and edit on capcut then upload, is it Okay? Or we should go live and edit from there then upload? Is there any effect for mobile used? What about recommended camera? 3-Shall we stick to same Hashtags for all posts?
1. You can use your same account and improve it. Creating a new one won’t help. 2. It doesn’t matter. I record on my phone and edit in TikTok but you can do whatever. Just do your captions and text in the app. 3. No, have an umbrella hashtag that works for every video then use hashtags specific to that video and what it’s about.
@MikeYanda Thanks for answering, I converted the account from Business to personal and applied all settings since 1 week ago, and I am posting everyday on Tiktok. Till now no change in views or increase in followers, how much time I should wait to start seeing the difference?
Changing the settings alone won't cause you to magically get more views. It only makes it easier to grow because it allows you to use the commercial sounds that are used in trends. If you're still stuck it means that you need to out and research other creators in your niche. Identify their outlier content and make your own version of it. That will greatly increase your chances of going viral and help you learn what content works on the platform. @@mohammadabdallah9641
Great advice and comprehensive analysis. I am an independent musician starting out a new project and wanted to know whether all of what you presented here can be applied to musician tiktok accounts. Thanks!
100% can be applied. Focus on watch time. Start with shorter videos early on to make it easier. Combine sharing your music with trends in your industry to get awareness. Best of luck my man!
Great video - QUESTION : If I already have an old account with no videos on it - can I start with that one or do I need to create a fresh account and then add videos?
Hey, great video! I started my tik tok account last week and started following my friends. If I unfollow and start following creators in my niche will it correct my fyp and audiences that I’ll reach as I would rather not create a new page
Hey Mike!! Just got onto your videos. Great stuff! I’m posting consistently and getting between 750 and a few thousand views each time so I definitely feel like I’m making above average content. But I only get like 2-5 followers per video and it feels like 1000 will take ages. Do you have any advice?
I don't normally comment on video like this but I had to comment on this! Such Valuable information, broken down so clearly. Thank you so much for the help and transparency. This is honeslty advice that I haven't heard from any other youtuber. Thank you!
@MikeYanda One question, Mike, I'm hoping you can help with😊. If I've posted 1 video with 1 set of hashtags, but I want to add an additional hashtag to the set, would that confuse the algorithm? I hope that makes sense
No, not at all. Hashtags are pretty simple. Just use a small number that describe that specific video. That is more effective than using a bunch of hashtags, and it's okay if you use different ones from video to video. I recommend having one hashtag that works for every video and then you use 2-4 more that are specific to the particular video. @@Jadekoroma
That was my opinion. It doesn’t matter. It has no impact on your performance. It’s just a personal preference. I don’t even know what mine is set on to be honest.
This video was SO helpful. I think I have the issue of too many topics for sure. I JUST started my account about 2 weeks ago I'd hate to start over already. Hopefully I can put some of these things in play and revive my accouny
Love this! Thank you. So what happens if you’ve already been posting on your TikTok channel for a year and you have over 6000 followers? Will this apply moving forward from now?
Hi, Mike! Thank you so much for all of the information you're sharing with us. I just have a question. Regarding setting up the fyp page to only show the niche I'm trying to be in, what if I don't find any? Any account with the same concept? I mean there are certainly some targeting the same audience but aren't really doing the thing that I wanna be doing, how do I go about that? Like I feel like I'll be the first one to do that, is that a good or a bad thing? I hope you see this. Thank you so much!
Could be good or bad. Competition is good because there is demand for the content. No competition can mean no interest or no one is filling that demand yet. If it’s the latter it’s harder though because you can’t do content research you have to figure it out on your own.
@@MikeYanda But what if it's within a bigger niche? Can't I find inspiration or do content research from that? Like for example BookTok, books have so many genres but what if no one's talking about a certain genre and that's what I want to focus on? You think I can do research from other-genre-inspired contents? Thanks a lot for responding! Love your contents! So helpful! Although I haven't started yet lol
@@MikeYanda Or would you rather I set up my fyp to show contents from other closely related niches like if I wanna target scifi book readers, I'd follow and draw inspirations from scientific trivia and inventions accounts? Again, thank you so much! Appreciate your time.
This is an epic Video Mike! Just found your content and it's incredible. If we already did the sync contacts thing, should we remove and also press the "remove previously synced contacts" button? Thank you!

Wow, thanks so so much! I was starting to get discouraged. I followed everything you have adviced. I was on 45followers for 2 weeks with views between 200 and 700. I shot up to 892 followers in 48 hours and 600 to 4000 views. One video has 4K views in 24 hours. Thanks man!! Thanks so so much!
Amazing, congrats! What’s the biggest thing that helped you?
@@MikeYanda as of today I have 2117 followers. In less than a week. Biggest take, take advantage of the FYP and comment and engage with content in your niche. 2. Stick to one niche not to confuse algorithm. 3. Follow content creators of your niche and look at their well performing videos and remake almost the same thing. Use of hashtags to let algorithm know you. I’m posting 2 times a day and I’m doing so so well.
Did you make a new account or did you follow the steps on your old one?
Super helpful - I'm actually motivated to give tiktok another try. Now for that whole niche thing...
I got you! Try this video:

Saving this video and implementing. I hope it works out. Thank you so much for the steps
I appreciate your clarity!
I SUBSCRIBE!!!
Thanks!@@IssaAdan-jr5xc
Thanks bro. Good advice and really helpful.
I’m so glad! Thanks for watching
I Did all of these steps I'll update if it goes well
How did it go?
Been looking for a video like this for a few days. Glad I found it
Wow! This was great! I just started my tiktok 2 weeks ago and upload at least once a day. It’s slow growth but I’m having fun 😊
Question: my For you has not changed since following 20 accounts. Should I follow more?
Thanks! I'm glad the video was helpful, and congrats on starting your TikTok account! What is your niche?
Good question. Once you have followed the accounts spend a few minutes on your Following Page watching and engaging with videos, then go to your FYP and click "not interested" on videos that aren't in your niche, engaging and watching with ones that are. Do that for 5-10 minutes, then close the app, re-open it and check your FYP. Keep repeating that until you are seeing niche videos in your FYP. It usually only takes 10-15 minutes.
@@MikeYanda thank you for this! Will get in this now 👍🏽
@@PlantyOfBlessings you're welcome! Hope it helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.
Outstanding video with extremely useful information! Thanks for sharing so much useful advice!
Thank you for the kind words! I’m glad you found it helpful and appreciate you watching!
Hi Mike!
Is it an obligation for me to create a new account or I can start to implement this on my old account and get results?
27:15 great video thanks. One confusing thing: watched another of your vids (more recently posted) where you said we SHOULD switch to business account. In this one, you say DON’T switch to business (remain creator account). Did I get that wrong? Or did your advice change between this vid and the later one?
If you go back that’s actually not what I say. (That video has caused some confusion unfortunately)
What I was saying is that if you see “switch to business” account it means you have a personal account. That’s how you know you have the right one. You don’t want to press that button.
@@MikeYanda ahhhh!!!! Got it. Okay, thanks for the response. Just switched back to personal. I appreciate it.
Love the content Mike!! Keep it up
Thank you! More coming tomorrow
I misunderstood in the previous video I watched, I thought you had recommended switching to a business account!! I made sure that was the first setting I turned on 😭 Is there a way to fix this, or do I have to start from square one again?
Exactly, I misunderstood that also... no cause for alarm, just switch back to personal account
Thanks, Mike. I really appreciate your complete explanations. I am a senior network marketer stepping onto TikTok for the very first time.
This is definitely the best channel for Tiktok beginners.
Thanks!
Is it important to post stories too? Thank you very much for all your videos!
Really a great video I don’t usually comment anything but you deserve it bro nice job!
Thank you! Means a lot.
Mike, I love this content. It's so helpful. Thank you
Thanks! I’m glad it’s helping and hope you continue to enjoy my channel!
I’m glad! Best of luck
If you don’t have many followers I would just start from scratch. Start with one thing to grow and then you can expand from there.
Wow!! Thanks a lot for sharing this useful piece without demanding for money. I caught a strike yesterday because I posted a video that didnt go well with them. Do I have any chances of succeeding with the account or should I start all over??
You're good! We all get strikes from time to time. Just make sure you don't violate the community guidelines again in the future.
Thank you so much bro, I am learning a lot, Just subscribed
Thankful you do these. I’ve learned so much.
If you've already started your tiktok account and only posted a few videos so far, is it ok to now switch off those security features to limit friends from other platforms and only honest followers or would you just start another account?
This is so helpful!
Great content! Thanks for the information!
Glad you found it useful!
Mike just started my tik tok channel 2 weeks ago. Got some decent views (few thousand) on first few vids but am
Plateauing at the moment. Wish I would have seen this before. Regardless thank you! Going to grind this out! It’s a process
It happens to all of us! Even with this information, it takes some practice before you get it right and things take off. Best of luck!
I must subscribe right now. Outstanding!
Thank you for your content ! I’ve already started an account before watching this video. Should I start a new tik tok from scratch or just apply these techniques to the one I already have.
No need to start over! Just update your settings and start applying these strategies with daily posting around one topic or theme.
Question! I have like 5 videos but I've been using my account for years. I also accidentially had it on a business account for a few days because I didn't realize it would mess me up. Would it be worth making a new account?
Just depends on your preference. Shouldn’t matter either way.
@@MikeYanda Okay thanks I appreciate the response! I'll just stick with what I've got and follow your tips:)
Great video! Just subscribed. One question: If I would post something that isn't on my self, should I then take content from others or should I create my own content and with my own ideas?
I mean like should i create my own videos or take from others?
Always create your own videos. Taking from others is a copyright violation and considered unoriginal/low quality content by TikTok
Thanks from Brazil. You're the best one when we talk 'bout tiktok tips. I'm very greatful!
Why thank you!
Appreciate your content! thank you I have learned so much! I have one question: Should we open the analytics from the beginning or wait until we are eligible for the rewards program ?
Open it right away! It’s useful
Thank you, I'm new to TikTok and this was super helpful!
I’m glad!
If I switched to business account already should I switch right now
THANKS Noob here and REALLY REALLY appreciate the ground level approach. Cheers!
Do you have a suggestion for the best editing software. Or do you edit straight though TT?
Hi Mike,
How are you? Quick question for you! If I set up my account, follow all the steps but spend day one using those accounts I started to follow to help create content and don't actually post until day 2, will that go against me in terms of my videos been pushed out?
Thank you
Susan
Best info I’ve seen👍🏽
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed the video!
Just subscribed. Very useful 👌
TON of value thanks a lot!
Glad you liked it!
Great Video. I have few questions:
1-If I already have a Tiktok account with low followers and views, can I apply now recommendations and continue or I should create new one?

You can start with that one
Hey, great video! I started my tik tok account last week and started following my friends. If I unfollow and start following creators in my niche will it correct my fyp and audiences that I’ll reach as I would rather not create a new page
so grateful for ur detailed guidance. Really appreciate it 🙏
Thanks!
Hey Mike!! Just got onto your videos. Great stuff! I’m posting consistently and getting between 750 and a few thousand views each time so I definitely feel like I’m making above average content.
But I only get like 2-5 followers per video and it feels like 1000 will take ages. Do you have any advice?
Question, I already had started posting before I did your first step of finding followers. Should I start over or just continue with this process?
I don't normally comment on video like this but I had to comment on this! Such Valuable information, broken down so clearly. Thank you so much for the help and transparency. This is honeslty advice that I haven't heard from any other youtuber. Thank you!
I’m so glad! Thank you for watching, I hope these strategies get you results!

Glad it helped! Collections are essential imo
you are great man. i am runing my chinese version titok now. good to know you.
Thank you!
Thank you! And yes, just switch your settings and carry on. The other strategies are the ones that really drive growth.
Thank you for all the tips! I skipped some steps and didn’t have a strategic follow list in place prior to posting, as well as not posting 3 to 4 day one. Can I make up for it after the fact?
I have 2 followers
But I’ve already lost 3 contents before I saw that video ….
What do you advise me to do ???
Thanks man am new on tiktok just opened an account yesterday already got 7 followers i try to implement everything you explained in the video and see if it works....
Hi there! is it true that your first 5 videos on tiktok determine your "scoring" and how well your next videos will perform? If true, is it a good idea to create a new account and post only "viral" videos from the old account to make a good start and go viral easier?
No that’s not true at all. And posting videos from your old account will get your new one banned from the FYP
I had a business account and changed it back, should I start over or do you think it’s fine?
No need to start over, you’re fine! Just keep posting with the updated settings.
